This past year I've attended and hosted quite a few events here. This is a venue where you can have birthday celebrations, corporate events, weddings etc. The lobby is very well taken care. The restrooms are immaculate. Which I greatly appreciate. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food is great, I've been here at least a dozen times in 2025 and I'm never disappointed. I've had different kinds of food here but the oxtail and Mac and cheese are my favorites. The oxtail is delicious. It's prepared Jamaican style and is tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese is perfect. In all honesty all the food is pretty good. I recently attended my Goddaughter's Sweet 16 at Maestro's Caterers on October 12th, 2025. I've been to Maestro's many times before for political events when I worked in the City, but this was the first time I actually had the chance to sit down and enjoy a full meal. The event took place in the smaller room downstairs, which was a change for me since I usually attended events upstairs. I was pleased to see that the space had been renovated. Everything looked updated, clean, and well-maintained. The venue had a fresh, polished look that made a great first impression. The bathrooms were also clean but didnt stay that way for most of the evening. I do think it would help to have bathroom attendants checking in throughout the night to keep things tidy. We arrived slightly early, and at that time the bartender was still setting up. Once the bar officially opened at 7 PM, we noticed that many common mixers weren't available, which made it difficult to order some basic drinks. The service overall was friendly, though there was one server who seemed rushed and nearly spilled appetizers on me. While this didn't ruin the night, it was noticeable. Speaking of appetizers, that was probably the weakest part of the meal. They were served cold and didn't really stand out. Thankfully, the main course more than made up for it. The food at Maestro's was absolutely amazing. The pernil and arroz con gandules were perfectly seasoned and served hot. Every dish I tried was full of flavor and cooked beautifully. Dinner was clearly a high point of the evening, and it's clear Maestro's knows how to deliver a memorable meal. Unfortunately, I didn't stay for the Viennese hour, so I didn't get to try the coffee or desserts. Two things did stand out to me as areas that need improvement. First, I noticed some servers packing food to go during the event, and they weren't discreet about it. This felt inappropriate, especially since that food was paid for by the host. If there's extra food, staff should ask before helping themselves or at least do so more privately. Second, the main staircase, which is a beautiful spot for photos, quickly became a traffic bottleneck. At times, it was hard to leave the venue because people were using it for pictures. There should be a better system to allow both photo opportunities and smooth guest movement. On a positive note, valet parking was seamless and efficient, and coat check was quick and easy , two small but important touches that helped the night flow smoothly. read more

Hubby and I have been here before for other functions so it was a pleasure to visit again, for my girlfriend's mom's birthday party. The staff was very attentive to all the guests and helped to maintain the secret until the perfect moment when we all yelled, "Surprise!", to the lady of the hour. They offer valet which was helpful, especially since it had been raining that day and we had the little one in attendance. They have a coat check and a bathroom attendent who was a little odd but the bathroom remained clean during the entire event. The food was VERY good. They had a cocktail hour which we unfortunately missed, but their buffet was on point and there was so much food left over that guests were provided with containers to take home food. My favourite would have to be their oxtails. They were fall-off-the-bone good and saucy. The one thing that irked me was that the staff was serving themselves from the buffet, which I've never seen at a function; not saying they can't eat since they're working but I've never seen employees making plates from which the same buffet the guests and hosts are served, making take home containers as well. I probably only saw it because we were seated right next to the food (because my friend knows I love to eat). In the end, everyone had a great time dancing, drinking, eating ans celebrating a wonderful woman who enjoyed a spectacular day, and full of joy and happiness. read more

Picking out an affordable wedding venue in NYC is close to impossible. Coming across Maestros Caterers and their wonderful staff was definitely a blessing for us. From picking out the right room for our wedding to deciding on the menu the management team was amazing! They made us feel so comfortable and helped us in every way possible. The day of the wedding everything went as planned my guests were loving the food. That was the number one complement. The only reason I cannot give this place 5 stars is that during the reception the AC was not working and we were melting and throughout the reception it was just uncomfortably hot. Yeah...this is gonna be a no for me. Take everything negative you've heard about catering halls and that pretty much sums up Maestro's. I attended a family function here tonight and compared to other catering halls I've been to, it's not up to snuff. The decor is dated, I mean REALLY dated - from the Romanesque facade on the outside to the mirrored hallways on the inside, everything screams 80s (in a bad way). I could partially forgive if the upkeep was good, but it's not - everything looks worn down, scuffed, and tired looking. Even the room we were sitting in had an old, dank smell to it - this place is in desperate need of a facelift. The food was the pits - while catering halls aren't known for the highest quality food, Maestro's fare was just not good. The food during the cocktail hour was meh - one thing that stuck out like a sore thumb to me though was on their cheeseboard they had diced up cubes of what I thought was cheddar cheese - lo and behold upon taking a bite I taste that it's American (womp womp). During the main reception, we started with salad which tasted way too earthy, I just decided to pick through it for the dried cranberries and walnuts. For my main I chose chicken scarpariello - it's hard for me to even call it scarpariello because it really didn't look or taste like that at all. While the chicken itself was passable, the brown sauce was all wrong, the peppers didn't taste like vinegar peppers, and the sausage was missing. The dish was served with asparagus spears topped with breadcrumbs (?????) and roasted potatoes. We were served cookies for dessert (not sure which bakery they came from, tasted like Golden Glow). The cherry on the cake of my meal was that when I was served coffee, the only choices for sweeteners were sugar and Sweet & Low (I'm a Splenda guy). This is 2016 - I expect establishments to have all artificial sweeteners on deck; needless to say it wasn't the best cup I've had. Maestro's has a lot of potential because of its size - three rooms on the main level plus more downstairs. However, the dated/tired decor and the bad food really put it on the bottom of the food chain when it comes to catering halls in the Bronx. read more

Except for the location maybe (not particularly gorgeous, but okay and easy to reach), this has been one of the best venues I have been to in a while. Classic valet damaged my car on mother's day 2018 Mother's Day 2018 at maestros, damage to the front bumper of my car while in their services, a nice golf ball sized hole, called and spoke to Valerie who said no problem we will take care of it, she asked for an estimate to be faxed from a body shop, after a week of calling and leaving messages I finally got a hold of her. Her response was to give me a $100 towards a $500 estimate, "take it or leave it or go thru your own insurance". She also claimed her workers said they didn't do it and that they never lie to her. Wow. Incredibly rude valet service. Jesus from the valet service and another of his team decided it was ok to mock me for pulling in to the valet area, following the alignment/direction of the cones. And when I took exception, they refused to apologize and only made more snark comments. This is the introduction to the venue? What an ugly face for this organization. Jesus's boss came out. He apologized. She went back in, and Jesus had some more smartass remarks. Is this the best they can do? What a disaster of a venue. I went for a conference for about 1,000 people. The decor inside and out is in serious need of an update....very lame and outdated (think mid to late 80's.) The rooms, 3 large party rooms are nicely sized. However, the food tastes straight from the freezer section of your local bodega. I get that they are serving lots of people, but there is no excuse for the food to be so nasty and with no taste. Thank God I the conference was free. I went here for a work retirement party, it was about 200 people. I was really creeped out by the bright lights in the "cocktail hour" room. Perhaps because I wanted to hide and avoid various co-workers, but at 7pm, I felt like I had a spotlight on me the whole time. Weird. This place is a typical cheesy place that all the surrounding schools have their proms at. I hope people don't get married here.... but I am probably, and unfortunately, mistaken about that. Nothing has changed in that establishment since approximately 1982. The staff was fine, they dropped large stacks of plates NUMEROUS times while there were speeches being made at the event, so that was a bit annoying. I'm going to end this review now because it feels pointless. The place is where people go to prom. Of course the food is bland and they stuff random sloppy messes inside their chicken dish, of course the decorations are out-dated, and the place was cheesy. Two stars is a courtesy. I thought they were joking about the pizza bagels until a gentleman in a very poorly fitted, unadjusted tuxedo put one on my plate. The venue itself is rather nice save for the billions of mirrors, plastic flowers and lateral party lights maybe a foot to a foot in a half above eye level. We had someone with us who has sensitivity to strobes, but it bothered everyone just the same that we were taking turns hiding behind each other to not catch a headache from the flashing lights in our eyes. The dj also couldn't stop playing reggae and reggaeton from the early 90's for a sweet 16 and looked like he hates the party the most. Having food served to me is nice, having it served by a girl with her billowy curls hanging over the sub-par emotionless food was depressing. I wish served by the bald bartender that we tipped generously in advance. He made the cheap whiskey acceptable. Even though he didn't know what "neat" means and I stopped him 3 times from putting ice in my glass. The real coke was at the bar, the generic stuff was in pitchers poured clearly from a 3 liter bottle in a plastic pitcher. After the awful food, there was fondue with way too much vegetable oil in the chocolate and Sundae Staton with cake sprinkles, cherries out of a jar, no nuts and one can of whipped cream for a party of 60-70 people (cheaped out again). The weirdest part of that whole experience was that during the father and daughter dance, 3 waiters walked in a circle around them holding metallic bowls of fire (don't know what that was about...) read more

My husband and I renewed our vows on mother's day at Maestros. It was fantastic, the food was great, the service outstanding. Frank and his team were very helpful, always available and attentive. We got there a couple of hours early to set up the souvenirs and centerpieces and the suited staff lined up ready to help, new to me because I've never seen that anywhere else. We rented the room downstairs which was perfect for us. Our guests all had a great time and went on and on about how beautiful the place was.
