It replaced a decorative, vertical block wall that had failed after what seemed to us like much too soon, presumably due to the large amount of unstable fill behind, that it had been installed to contain. At our home we had had some decorative and, we'd hoped, slope-stabilizing rockwork, over a decade ago, but time, moose, gravity, and earthquakes, were not kind to it. This season we asked Rock Landscaping to do a much more extensive restoration and improvement job for us. It was quite challenging because our home was built into uneven, sloping terrain necessitating several functional and decorative, inclined, stacked-rock walls to support and improve stability of dirt, grass, and rock-filled areas surrounding our house. To accomplish our job in the best weather, it was rescheduled so the crew showed up in early summer and they attacked our project aggressively with four, focused workers. They arrived early each day and worked hard hours, despite long drives to get here. The whole crew was very personable, accommodating, and results-oriented. When we suggested changes or improvements to the plan, even if it meant redoing sections, they made it happen without complaint. If it rained...oh well...they showed up anyway and gave it their all. They were very alert to potential improvements they could make, where applicable, and they were careful to implement them when we approved. Colton Symbol, our Project Lead, is an excellent crew manager. He kept his guys, and us, as homeowners, informed; he thought ahead; he set a strong example of work ethic; and he demonstrated great customer service. His boss got a great deal in Colton. All-in-all, we have been very pleased with the appearance of the work that Rock Landscaping, LLC did for us. The Stickneys Roger & Michele Anchorage, AK

My patio and firepit blend seamlessly with the natural rock found in the area where I live. Fernanado is a perfectionist and the rest of the team just as talented. Love the finished product and while Russ' waitlist is long...he's worth the time and money. Fantastic project!

We did have an issue this summer, but it was handled quickly and to our satisfaction. We would recommend this company if you are looking for lawn service. - Donna T., Eagle River

I used Lawn Ranger for several small lawn jobs the past few years at one of our homes. Mostly…read morespring cleanups. The work they did was acceptable. But they were always bad at communicating. Communicating what they'd do, communicating when they'd do it, communicating how much it'd cost. Nevertheless, this summer I decided to ask Lawn Ranger to also periodically fertilize our lawn. Every four weeks, we agreed. However, they didn't come in July as scheduled. And they didn't respond to the emails I sent over a two week period asking them what was up. So I did the work myself. Then, without checking with me first and despite my emails, Lawn Ranger came and fertilized the following day while I was away, slightly burning my lawn. We could have gotten past this miscommunication. Perhaps I could have paid for their materials, something like that. However, that ended when I learned that Lawn Ranger CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE WORK WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. They knew they screwed up, but decided to just charge my credit card and hope I wouldn't complain. I NEVER authorized Lawn Ranger to keep a copy of my card and bill to it as they saw fit. Plainly, what Lawn Ranger did was save my number from a prior authorized charge, and used it without my permission for the unwanted July fertilization. I complained to my credit card issuer, which promptly refunded the unauthorized charge. The credit card company then gave Lawn Ranger 45 business days to explain its side of the story, but they never did. Obviously, Lawn Ranger realized they were wrong to charge my card without my authorization and opted not to fight it. Oh, and when I politely emailed Lawn Ranger about what they'd done, they responded with a very unprofessional email full of excuses (claiming they were delayed due to rain, despite no rain having fallen), name-calling (that I was a "scam artist"), that I was "harassing" them, and that if I told anyone about what they'd done they'd sue me for defamation. Lawn Ranger's crew is capable of doing the simplest types of lawn work acceptably when they feel like it. But for those of us who also need their lawn service to be responsive and professional and to not bill unwanted work to a credit card without approval, I suggest a look elsewhere.
