The cabins are all very clean and staff is both friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The waterfalls are beautiful and can be seen from many of the cabins. I recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a great summer retreat!!

The forest theme is apparent with the addition of forest critters all around the equipment. There are plenty of slides and swings to choose from. There is also a sandbox. There are benches to sit on and a very short loop trail going into the woodsy area. I went through the trail easily with our stroller and it was nice to have that green space so close by. The trail will look especially nice with the fall colours or in the summer when the trees are lush again. I would have given this park 5 stars if there was a water component to it for the hot weather, but I didn't notice any water equipment.

There are several paths, some are more magical than others. The Dog path is also the main one, which is about 6 Km of a wonderful shaded trail so even during a blazing sun and a hot day like today we could enjoy the shade, cool forest smells and not break swat. PERFECT. The trail is a good dirt/gravel road that even a good stroll can pass there and is perfect for running. Bonus there are benches and garbage bins along the trails. So what can I do here except hiking ? There are Geocaches, disc-golf, swimming pool (was still closed), running, outdoor sport, soccer 9there is a field, fishing. Bottom line a wonderful well maintained park that is a great solution for a fun and short nature escape.

Unfortunately, they still had the picnic tables all in a pile and chained up, so we couldn't use them. The park was covered in goose poop, so we didn't want to eat on the grass and ended up eating in the car, lol. Parking is not free at this park, you have to pay. The parking lot is owned by Indigo Parking and it's $1.25 an hour with a 4 hour maximum. The parking lot is also fairly small, so it fills up quickly. If the parking lot is full, there really isn't anywhere else you can park so you'd be out of luck. The turn to get into the parking lot and thus the park is marked, but the road is small, not even 2 full car widths, so it's easy to miss. I missed it first time around and had to double back. Also since the road in is narrow, if someone is coming in and someone else is coming out, the person coming out has to back up. I don't know who designed this place, but I'm not all that impressed with the entrance/exit layout. So as you can see, this park and I did not start off on the right foot, lol. It is pretty, if you disregard all the goose poop and the loud geese walking around. The rapids are cool and there are sections of the park that are picturesque. I personally would be reluctant to bring small kids here because I feel that it's pretty dangerous there if you are not careful. You can fall in the water. Not all sections are adequately fenced off for my comfort level. However, I am a stickler for safety. But I realize that nature is inherently dangerous, so I guess there is some risk to experience its beauty. Glad I got to see the park and the rapids, but I likely won't be back.

I had no idea this place existed until our photographer, Jamie from Hello Lovely Ottawa, suggested…read moreit for our maternity shoot! We were there last summer in June. We weren't the only ones there for a photoshoot either, as we saw a pregnant woman and her partner with a photographer, as well as another couple who seemed to be taking engagement photos. Great location for them! We met Jamie in the parking lot and had no idea what the park would be like, but when we walked down into the park area, it opened up to this huge green space that we didn't expect. There's lots of open green space and small hills, some picnic tables, a few paths in between the trees, and locks where a few people were fishing. It was so beautiful and peaceful at during the "golden hour" at sunset on a weekday, and no mosquitos or any other bugs really, maybe because it was a little windy. I'm not sure what it would be like on weekends during the day, when I could see a lot of families playing and picnics happening. I completely forgot about this park until now, so I can't wait to go back with our babe when the whether is nice! In the meantime, enjoy a few photos of my husband and I screwing around during our photoshoot lol (Just two weeks before our little guy decided to introduce himself to the world!)

There are beautiful…read moreviews of the St Lawrence River, with a large gazebo, and boating docs; and walking trails, as well as a beach. it's also a good spot for scuba diving. I just discovered that you can walk the park in the winter time too, as they shovel the parking lot. I saw a few people here walking their dogs. No camping and no canteen from Labour Day to the long weekend in May. I will add a few snapshots that I took. I can't wait to go back!

This site was hyped WAY more than what we got from it. For full hookups, there is only one loop…read more(Loop F) for them and they do not support larger trailers/5th wheels. The sites on this loop have a max length of 40' back-in, but when we drove them, there is absolutely no way that there were more than 2 spots that would have accommodated this and it wouldn't have been an easy fit unless you're very experienced with backing in a camper/5th wheel. The sites were extremely close together as well, with no mature trees, and not real parking for cars. Also, we noticed a trend of cars taking up extra spots and many cars for one site spilling over into others sites. We stayed in H10 and he sites were much more spacious. There were no mature trees around the campsite at all, but plenty of room for our kids to roam and play. The sites are electric only with water pump stations around. Luckily, we were situated in a spot that we could run hose to the spigot for water. We would suggest having an extra 100-150' of hose if you're planning to stay here. There is a cute park right on this loop for the kids to play at. The dump stations had very low water pressure making it difficult to flush the black tank. Additionally, they only had 3 spots for dump which meant there is a wait and it kind of sucked in the rain. We did see a lot of wildlife which was fun for the kids (and man). It was fairly quiet even though our loop was completely full. The scenery is beautiful. The river is gorgeous and fishing was fun. It was harder to find a spot to fish from - you cannot fish from the piers which is very inconvenient with little kids to navigate wet rocks and risk a fall. They have a few very nice boating docks to launch from. The store has very minimal supplies - be ready to make sure you don't need anything, or you'll have to pay the toll to get across the bridge to get to the grocery store. There are no grocery stores on the island. There is no gas stations on the island currently and there is one being remodelled. Hopefully, it'll be ready next year. It was a nice stay, but it was not as epic as we had hoped to be (and it had been hyped to be). It really isn't our go to for the future.

It is easy to find the place and some sites have some leaves or branches covered which is you need to look carefully. I gave this park 5 stars for amazing nature and location. 4 stars for bathroom because limited showers per bathroom sites even though we have a lot of sites. They have washing station next to the bathroom sites which are great and get 5 stars for this! We all need some place to wash our stuff from cooking. 5 stars for grill station that they are in great condition which is I did not expect that! Bring a lot of bug sprays because they have more insects that you don't see that often in area where you normally live. Overall staying there for camping is a wonderful place and definitely family friendly!!

Barnabe Park is a community park in Orleans. It's just a block away from Cardinal Farm Park and has…read moresimilar amenities, but is a bit bigger. It has 2 play structures, one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids. It has big kid swings and baby swings. It has a basketball court and also lots of open green space. It has a few picnic tables as well. There are lots of trees around, so lots of shade for those really hot days. There's a small parking lot with free parking too.
