I greatly appreciate all the hard work the pool staff does daily to provide a clean, safe, friendly environment for pool visitors to recreate in. With and the smoke from this years wildfires it's nice to has an oasis to recover from a recent injury. The pool staff is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and gave me some me some swimming tips. I mentioned my injury to a staff member and they said that they would pray for me that night. I was in shock and amazed by their kindness never in all my years has anyone ever said that to me. My kids and I visited Madras this summer. We enjoyed the aquatic center! I have a range of ages (11, 7 and 2) so it isn't always easy to find things everyone likes. My older son liked the swinging rope, diving board and slide. My 7 year old loved the lazy river. The little one likes the water bucket dumping on his head and the shallow kids pool area. read more

We go here when the opportunity presents itself, which is quite often. Inside, with the big windows facing west toward the volcanoes of the Cascades, and up on a hill , the view is tremendous. Nice landscaping outside, too. No, the MAC is not as fancy as the one in Pinedale, Wyoming: https://www.yelp.com/biz/pinedale-aquatic-center-pinedale?osq=Swimming+Pools but, then again the economy here is based on mint and carrot seeds, not oil and gas as in Pinedale. There's a nice hot tub here too, though if you are under 16 you're outa luck. I'm not under sixteen so I soak myself pruney. There's also a water slide, a pool with a stream in it, water toys, swim classes, swim teams, internet access, diving board, and, in the entry area, a fireplace with a nice (artificial) fire. read more

Today we had a party at the MAC in Madras, Or. My sister had rented both party rooms to have her son's party at 12-1.30. Well, we were there at 11.30 to be able to set for the party before guests arrived and they weren't even opened for us to do that. My sister was told she could arrive early to set up before her giests started to show. Well, that didn't happen. So we waited outside with the party stuff for them to open and the girl that works at the desk arrived at about 11.43 walks past our kids and my stepdad and let's herself in and then kids check door and says it's still locked. Then she sees them and comes out tells them they can't come in until they open and the head lifeguard gets there then before they could say anything about them being the noon party she goes back in. Mind you now it is about 11.47 and I see a life guard get let in. He sees us sitting there and I tell him what is happening and he says to the girl they're here for the noon party and she says oh let them in by now it's 11.50. So my stepdad and the kids start to bring the rest of the stuff in and set it in the party room where we are supposed to be and the room wasn't even ready the girl is putting the chairs at the tables didn't even wipe tables off or nothing and then says something to us while we are waiting in the foyer lobby and so I get up and just start helping her get the chairs set up. By now it is after 12 pm. Meanwhile nothing is done and now the guests are arriving they're standing around not sure what to do then they realize what has happened and start to help set up(my sister was so embarrassed that her guests were helping set up her son's party most of her guest came from long distances too they were not invited to help set up a party then leave in an abrupt manner) and by now it is 12.30 or later once everything gets completely set up(Just table cloths and food no decoration s no time and kids are just starting to get into the pool to swim. By the time we finished setting up it was about 12.40 or so. By the time everyone got to eat it was 12.50 so we spent the whole party setting up never got to use the decorations or even visit . The kids got to swim I would say maybe 20 mins before they were rushed in to eat food cake and ice cream and my nephew had 5 mins to open his presents. No one was even able to finish their food. They literally just started to throw the food away without finishing because we literally got kicked out at 1.30 even tho we didn't get the room technically til after noon. Then the other party basically came right in(which I saw they arrived at 1 pm and saw we were still in the party room so poor management skills on how to schedule parties) and just started setting up while we were cleaning because my sister did not want them to have the same experience we did. Their party started at 1.30pm. We literally did stay and clean our party up by 1.45 while the other party set theirs up. So we had no time to set up or clean. So my nephews party was ruined and money wasted on food being thrown away because no one could finish it because we had to clean up and get out by 1.30 and by the non communication between the staff and mgrs.) My sister did get her cleaning deposit back even tho we couldn't thoroughly clean everything. They are lucky she doesn't go after them for all the food and decorations tgat were wasted or not used. They need to refund her in full the money charged for the party rental and whatever else they charged her for. We didn't even get any pics or enjoy ourselves because we had no time too. This is the 2nd year this has happened. My sister tried to get a later time slot 3-5 but they said that we would have to be out by 4.30 even though it was a 3-5 time slot because they had a staff meeting. I can't see how this place got 5 stars. Both times I have been here we have been literally pushed out. I would not recommend having a party here ever. Party wise big waste using it recreationally it is fun. So if you are planning to have a party here I would think twice. The lady at the desk said we could take our food and guests into the swim area and finish. Who wants to do all that reset everything back up there wasn't even any room or enough tables for as many people as we had especially after everyone just helped set and clean up and threw their food away and no privacy and now you are eating the smell of the chlorine from the pool and the moisture and other kids you don't know or you didn't invite just helping themselves and interrupting your party. 1 star for party issues but 3.5 stars for recreational fun. read more

I have been going to MAC since it first opened. Today Labor Day I take my family of 5 (2 four year old's and a 12 month old) all the way from Redmond so I am out of district to enjoy a day in the pool and it was the worst experience I have ever had! First they refused to allow us to use our infant floaty for no reason at all they just said we needed to use the life jacket, well we tried it and guess what on my 12 month old the smallest was to small, another lifeguard suggested to use the noodles, are you serious?! He's 12 months old! Also the noodles are way bigger than my infant floaty. Also there is no rule any where we could find that said no floatation devices allowed. The manager of course was not in the office today so I had to deal with incompetent lifeguards. Then when we were ready to go we asked for a family room and we're given a key to family room 2. By the time we were headed in my husband noticed a father and son enter the room we had the key for. When he went to inquire about it the gal at the front desk said room 2 doesn't lock except from the inside so the man wasn't paying attention and just went into room 2 without realizing he had the key for room 1. So really anyone can just walk in to family room 2 to use it. So now family room 2 is occupied and no one can use room 1 because it actually locks. Instead of waiting we leave in wet bathing suits and all. Very disappointed in the staff and how they handled everything. I will be calling management. read more

It is sad when you have to write a review because a place of business treats you poorly. There is so much turn around of help that no matter who you delt with in the past, they will not be there the next time you go. We were in district with our address for an annual past last year and even though nothing has changed on our end, we are no longer in-district. I had a $10.00 bill on me expecting $2.00 back and the gal at the front wanted nothing less then $11.00. I cleaned out everything and came up with $10.78 and she was not going to allow my 2 girls to swim until I had the remaining .22 cents. I found a few pennies in the car but had to resort to asking a kind lady from Redmond for the extra 13 cents. So this place is not only greedy, but will change their rules at any point. The life guards are too lazy to help out on the rope swing now, so an older gentleman stayed in the water as long as he could to help the young kids reach the rope. I am so disappointed in the standards of this place. It just keeps going downhill every time we go. Now we will find another place to swim after todays incident. Too bad on their part! read more
