For this reason, I could tell stories of some of the worst places I have stumbled upon, but I will sum it up with there has been a time or two I have walked out of places thinking I may need to go and get a tetanus shot or should have worn a CDC suit. I visit Jackson at least once or twice a year and have tried various gyms, but they have all fallen short of meeting the needs of my routine and expectations compared to what they charge a visit to workout. To paraphrase, there are places I have walked out of and my hands were black from filth! Driving, I saw Starke off the freeway and stopped in to see what their equipment setup and fees were for someone from out of town. For only being 8 months old, it is filled with all new equipment, but you could see that the management took ownership in keeping it organized, clean and friendly. I really appreciated that they worked out a rate for me based on the fact that I am from out of town and were welcoming along the way. The equipment and facilities are great! There is a lot of attention to detail and great separation of space depending up what you want to focus on in your routine. The men's locker room was clean and professionally appointed. They have a kids area and plenty of parking. It is great to know that I have a place like this to come back to when I am in town.

A separate comment- there is a review with one star from a year ago by Renea about a bad experience at the front desk with someone called Lisa. Not only have I never had an experience like that in 300 classes over two years, but I don't even know who Lisa is/was. The core four at the front are Blakeley, Kia, Brittany, and Benton. They are professional, experienced, and attentive. From new to seasoned, they treat everyone like family. In short, I love OTF Madison and encourage anyone at any level of fitness to try. Some of the more fit members can be somewhat demanding when using machines. wanting to use them immediately or taking multiple machines to compete a circuit without collaboration with others, which can be frustrating in a crowned gym. Or when the gym is empty and you are in a small corner. Why do you have to use the gym equipment or move your weight next to me. Speaking of cost. It is important to note that this is a yearly processing fee 49.99 in addition to the cost of your gym membership. Since this location only offers one class, the members are able to use other club 4 to utilize classes and saunas. While I initially thought I would use them, I found them to be further away and had a parking issues. I believe that it is not advisable to pay a higher membership fee when the equipment is not fully utilized. When cancelling your membership you must give 30 days notice So if you are a few days into the next month you will have two months to pay. I cancelled in March and the cancellation will take place n June.) I would have liked to have a reminder, I was told when I call to ask them about the fee, that it would be impossible for them to contact everyone. They said they had already shut the system down and refused to sell me one. After admitting to trashing mine 5 seconds earlier, you would think they would offer me a replacement bottle if not for free at least for purchase but no they refused and the older employee showed zero remorse etc for doing so. I like club4 and I prefer it over the other chains in the area that I'm aware of but when everything around is closed and you throw away my water because I left it in an open gym with cold water for literally less than 60 seconds and then refuse to even sell me a replacement. That is poor customer service. Maybe they need to close earlier or hire better employees. I will say that the younger employee was nicer and apologized even though she was not at fault, but it did not change the reality of the situation.

There is typically Mold & Black Slime all over the showers & nasty floors in wet area. Whirlpool is a joke as they don't turn the jets on, just sit there in the nasty ole tub with semi hot water. Soap/wet wipes/hand sanitizer Empty most of the time in multiple locations they have them. Steam Room is nasty. Obviously do not clean it regularly and the same for the dry heat Sauna, NASTY. A reputable Gym/Health Plex would at least keep it clean. Surely would be shut down if EPA inspected it most weekends. Other than wet area, the other facilities, weights, weight machines & equipment is satisfactory. Track is nice. Crowd is now tolerable, now that the basket ball courts are no more replaced with the pickle ball courts & work out area.
