I've lived in Madison Crossing for a year and the overall apartment is nice. They are recently renovated (they put in ikea kitchen cabinets), spacious and away from the excitement of the bar scene. However, the Management company is riding on the rent boom of Seattle and charging solely on location.
The building itself has no amenities. Residents are required to walk their trash to a dumpster in the alley. The only security is a call box located in an alcove where I have had to wait for homeless people to stop peeing so I could use my key phob. If something breaks over the weekend, such as the elevator, you have to wait until the next business day for it to be fixed. When the elevator goes down, residents must walk up the alley, up the garage ramp and access the building from the upper parking entrance (which is uncovered).
The parking is located above the central co-op parking garage. There is no secured access and while the residents have assigned spots, there's no stopping anyone from coming up to the top level and taking your spot. The trucks unloading supplies from the Central co-op often block the driveway and the truck drivers are not sympathetic when you're trying to get out. Management has also been promising to create an outdoor living space for the residents ever since I moved in, and I've yet to see anything take shape.
I have also yet to meet the building Manager. Although she's quick to respond to requests during work hours, she has yet to introduce herself. The previous Manager was the same way. When moving in, you have to go to another property to pick up your keys and they don't even take you through the apartment.
Working in the hospitality field, I expect more then a roof over my head if I'm going to pay two grand a month for an apartment. The only reason I continue to stay is because I love my actual apartment and moving is a hassle. Hopefully, management finds this review and starts doing more for the residents, who are a friendly and respectful group. read more
