This place is solid. We were heading to Daytona and tried to schedule for a much needed oil change but it was impossible. We happened to stop by Madison for lunch at Grumpy's (also highly recommend). Searched and found this place based on good reviews. And can confirm, this place is solid. Hearty, hard-working mechanics, and friendly office lady. Price is decent. Honest people and no BS. Nice big lot and a comfy waiting room. Got it done fast for us as the timing was right, and the mechanics were considerate of us having ways to go for our trip. What a great group of people from the front office to John the owner! Traveled up to Jasper to stay with family and my check engine light came on after I had reset it prior to leaving home. With a long week of travel ahead I decided to get it checked out by professionals and bite the bullet. I called ahead and the young lady said to stop by so they could diagnose it. Upon arrival John walked out to the truck with his scanner and walked me through his diagnosis and put me at ease with his honesty and professional opinion. He took his time and recommended some steps I could take on my own that would likely correct the issue. He wouldn't accept payment. I'm on the highway to Tallahassee and all of a sudden my transmission is acting up- absolutely no where else open since it's Saturday and i've never been to Madison- but this place was my saving grace. When I called the woman on the phone didn't hesitate to tell us of course we could bring the car by- and when we got there the three guys that greeted us were so kind and incredibly happy to help. Only waited an hour for the emergency fix for a great price, and the man in charge was extremely kind and helpful, did a great job explaining the issue to us. This place was so nice and accommodating right from the start of a phone call! We were on a cross country trip with our camper van and our seatbelt (which we had our child's car seat connected too wasn't clicking in. Nicest manager/owner EVER! We broke down on the way from Texas to Florida. It was 3pm and we figured we would be stuck for the night or longer! He had the thermostat we needed, so we watched a movie while we waited, met some new "family", and were happily on the road again after a couple of hours. Unbelievable! Madison Automotive Repair saved our vacation! On the way to Universal Studios from Pensacola various warning lights started going off and the engine was loosing power. Googling nearby car repairs put us in touch with Madison Automotive Repair - thankfully! It was 4pm on a Thursday. Normally, they close at 5pm. We called first and they said bring it in. Owner John was able to diagnose the problem in 15 minutes - the alternator was shot. He gave us a quote of $580 which included 3.5 hours of labor AND they'd work on it right then! Nikki in the office made sure we were very comfortable while we waited. Bottled W water, hot chocolate, soda, coffee, as well chilli she made for the staff. They also had Netflix so we binged a show we hadn't seen before. Unfortunately, it's a Nissan and they had a tough time getting the alternator out. The Netflix really made the six hours! go by faster than if we were just sitting there. We bought them a Burger King dinner (their choice) because they stayed late (an additional 5 hours!!!) to get our car fixed so we could continue our trip! We're soooo appreciative for their help! I was traveling from 5 hours away with my dog and suddenly broke down on I-10 at 4:30 pm on Friday night. They kindly waited for me and helped me to change my spare out on my tire, and didn't even charge me. Very kind folks. Didn't let me sit in the air-conditioning with my dog tho. Sweet folks to stay after like that. Word of caution: Do NOT go to FIRESTONE AUTO on the other side of town. They charge an arm and a leg! read more

7/30/2019 I begin the review by stating I have been working on my own vehicles for the last 45 years. I am not a certified mechanic but I do know my way around a vehicle and engines. I was on vacation in Orlando Florida, my wife and I drove there from Phoenix, AZ. We wanted to take some time to see the country. When leaving to return home we had our engine failed in our Toyota Camry. We had no idea at the time but it was lucky for us we were near Madison Automotive. They accessed the issue, I already knew engine was gone, and said we can get you a used engine and install and we will rearrange some maintenance and delay what we can so we can be done on Friday. It was Tuesday. I agreed and was picked up by family and returned to Orlando. On Thursday I called and the first engine had been installed and they determined it was not a good engine. Owner, John was getting another engine and would get it installed ASAP. This took us till Monday, second engine had no oil pressure. When I called to check John was out getting a third engine. Now you have to understand these are used engines and there is no way to know if they are going to be good without installing and running them. So I was not upset with Madison Auto because they were now installing a third engine and were doing everything they could to make this happen. I know it cost them a lot of extra labor to remove and replace several engines. John and Madison Automotive were true to their word. This attribute can be tough to find in many shops. They installed the third engine and it was good. If you are ever in need of auto repair I would recommend this shop to anyone. John and staff were very friendly and did all they could to get me back on the road as soon as possible. Please do not let the fact that this is not a typical location or that it appears to be a bit unorthodox at first glance. IT IS NOT! If I lived in the area I would not let anyone else work on my vehicles. Honesty is a quality that can be hard to find but there guys are honest and truthful. Don K Phoenix, AZ read more
