My roommate convinced me to come with her to a class yesterday and I could not be more thrilled that I joined in. Hannah was an amazing instructor and the energy of the class was awesome. It was such an unique experience to be surrounded by all uplifting women and to dance without a care in the world. According to my Apple Watch I burned around 350 calories in 50 minutes! I'll definitely be back :)

My first time through ClassPass. Was on memorial weekend. Around 20 people there. So much fun and cardio, will come back again.

Okay now - that was fun as hell! Totally different type of workout to shake up the routine. I loved that it's women only and everybody seemed to be having a great time. The instructor Rachel had a ton of energy and was super friendly. I am 46 years old and blew out my knees dancing in the late 90s and early 2000s so I couldn't do as much of the jumping stuff because my knees started to hurt after about 15 minutes.... Le sigh. But I still got my heart rate up! I must say too, the way people dance now is so much different than when I used to go to the clubs. It kind of cracks me up.

My friends and I came here for a bachelorette party. Most would not have thought to do a sexy dance class, but everyone had a blast!! First the studio is set up to make everyone comfortable. The lights are OFF, and there was just a little bit of red lights. Enough to see but not enough to feel self conscious. They also provide knee pads and towels, but you'd want better knee pads if this is something you continue doing. There's a water station so you can refill your bottle and cubbies outside the room. Olivia, the instructor, had so much energy. She provided clear instructions that were easy to follow. She made the class welcoming and was all about empowerment and self love that you couldn't not feel better about yourself upon finishing the class. The class itself was challenging, fast pace, fun. The hour went quick! You definitely work up a sweat. I wish there was something like this closer to me! 10/10 would do again.

BEECCCAAA!!! 10/10 shook my ass & learned how in different ways I can't wait to take these moves to the club! Vibes were so high, music was empowering, and no judgement i recommend taking the twerk cardio can't wait to come back.

Once you go to Madhouse and you start mentioning it to people, you realize that everyone in town seems to go to Madhouse or has heard of Madhouse. And that's because it's such a great studio with awesome classes. Red Room Cardio is just the right amount of spice and fun, while being a great workout, and the instructors make new dancers feel as comfortable as the ones who dance there every day.

I came for the first time with friends to Becca's class (also first timers) AND WE WERE INSTANTLY addicted! Becca's energy and the safe and comfortable space she creates allows you to feel confident, empowered, sexy, and accomplished! Safe to say I have returned and now got a full membership because I love how my body has been toning up and how nourished my soul feels with the community Madhouse creates! *Kyra's class is ALSO fire. I love that Kyra integrates a lot of legs and ab workouts in between her cardio sets on Tuesday and I now take Becca and Kyra's class religiously

I had so much fun i went with a friend we did a cardio twerking class definitely recommend going !!!

If you're looking for a killer cardio and toning workout that doesn't even feel like you're working out because you're having so much fun, you need to come here. I've been coming here for 3 years and I absolutely love this space and the people who work here. Everyone is so welcoming and has such infectious energy. I remember a time when I was only doing Liv and Kira's Dance Cardio/Redroom Cardio classes 2x/week for a month and I got soo fit. That hour goes by so fast because it really just feels like you're jamming out to fire music shaking a$$ with your friends. I always tell my friends, it's like going to the club where they play banger after banger and you're sweating because you're dancing the whole time except no hangover and no creepy guys trying to dance on you. For newcomers on what to expect: There's parking in the back. When you enter the space, someone will help you check in. There's towels at the front and knee pads if you're taking any of the Redroom Cardio classes. You can put your things in the cubby by the door. Usually if there's a class before you you just wait in line for a bit. Talk to the other people there and tell them it's your first time because people are always so kind and welcoming if you have any questions or feel intimidated by the space. When you go in there are black circles on the floor for you to stand at so everyone has a good amount of space near each other. Have fun! I always love in the beginning of the class when they tell you there's never pressure to do the moves exactly like they're doing them. Modify as needed any time during the workout. Take up space! No one is watching you. Don't take yourself too seriously. It can feel awkward at first especially if you're taking some of the spicier classes but we all feel that way at some point. Feel silly and goofy and sexy and just go in there to have fun. Society puts so much pressure on women/people to look a certain way or behave a certain way so it feels so liberating to come into Madhouse and just dance for yourself. Wear whatever you feel comfortable working out in. Just a tip though, looser shorts are really better for twerking in. Compression shorts just make it harder for things to jiggle lol. I highly recommend doing the Unlimited Week $35 offer! Take as many classes as you can and try out all of the different instructors. I've taken the Dance Cardio/Redroom Cardio classes with Liv and Kira these past 3 years and always go back to theirs because they're amaaazing but I know all of the instructors are really cool too. OH and if you're into doing somatic work, I sweaaar by these classes. I've done so much therapy and trauma work and feel like all of the jumping around and honestly the twerking really does release stress stored in your hips lmao

I love that my brain still thinks I can whip out fouettes, when in reality, I'm far from even 50% as flexible as I once was. But finding the right studio is about getting to have fun and dance. I attended a Jazz Funk class at Play Studio and it was so fun! I appreciated that the class was a challenge. This studio is suited for people with dance experience. While there are likely people here training to dance professionally, there are also people who are just here for fun. But, I like that the classes are at a level that create a challenge and keep your brain moving as you move through the choreo. I hate a boring class and this wasn't the least bit boring at all. The class moved quickly! The vibe was good and it feels like there's a nice community here. I love the variety of options they have and I'm excited to try a pom class next. The studio is located on the second floor of the building. Parking in the area is tough. Although the studio has a parking lot, there are very few spots. There are paid spots across the street, but it's tough to find a free spot, so leave yourself some time.

Thanks Friends! I was honestly blown away! Have I just been watching mediocre and "bad" modern dance this entire time? The partnering work of the 2nd and 3rd pieces blew me away...mental note to self: work on upper body strength! The rest of the choreography was smooth, wellconnected, athletic, and beautiful; wheras most modern dances I've seen typically looks as if the dancers just got jacked up on Redbull, E and acid, then tossed on stage to do whatever they feel like. The music was interesting and went well with the pieces and lighting; it was not the typical modern dance crazy tribal or gothic "churchy" music, both of which I can't stand. Unfortunately the last piece was "countryish" music, which did not fit with the rest of the show and seemed very out of place; good choreography wasted on a bad piece of music! Overall, I was very impressed with the entire presentation will definitely be back to see future Malashock shows...maybe even take modern classes after a 9 year haitus...
