Came here foR the beginners pole dancing class, and was not disappointed. Nadine was the instructor at 8pm and she was running a little late since the schedule got botched somewhere down the line. She made it up to the class by providing us with the full time and I think 2 additional songs to freestyle style to. She is very vulgar but in a funny way. If you are easily offended (you're silly), you'll maybe want to pass on her class. She is welcoming and all of your nervousness just melts away with her spunky behavior. I have never taken pole dancing lessons but after this one class, I'm hooked. Btw, bring kneepads or wear leggings. I rubbed off some thigh meat from spinning on the pole so much (might be a me thing)

I have been doing pole for almost 3 years, then I got pregnant and continued until my body couldn't anymore. After having my baby, I wanted to reintegrate and I contacted the instructor (Lorena) as I felt ready to return. She was very patient with me and little by little I was regaining strength and confidence in myself to continue this sport that I love so much. I recommend this place because it has ample hours, parking and above all a good atmosphere.

This is the great place to learn Pole dance ! I've been in this Pole dance community almost 8yrs and I can proudly say that this is the one of the Best studio I can recommend in San Diego. Instructors are super inspired and motivated , I've learned a lot from them. They have day time class also weekend, and they now do have live streaming classes online due to the current Covid Situation. I highly recommend to check it out.. they will welcome you like you are already part of their family:)

13 classes in and WOW! I suggest knee pads for Nadine's classes, lots of water for Jess's and your A game for Stacey's hour. Lorena's spinning classes are still my favorites and yes- mommy got a gift certificate for Heel Bangers instead of a coffee pot this year!

Great instructors, small classes which allow personal focus and growth. Can't beat their prices! Most importantly DRAMA FREE! Come check them out

What is the website? The link isn't working. How long is each class?

Hi Spade, sorry about that, we just updated the link here on Yelp to take you directly to our online booking system, the old one was a little more roundabout anyway as it was the website for the larger arts complex we are a part of, but apparently… Read more

Are the poles standstill or spinning?

Hi Morgyn, the poles can be locked to be on static mode or unlocked to be on spin mode. The class you take determines what mode the poles will be in, unless you take a private lesson then we can work with your preference. Most classes are on… Read more

I love that my brain still thinks I can whip out fouettes, when in reality, I'm far from even 50% as flexible as I once was. But finding the right studio is about getting to have fun and dance. I attended a Jazz Funk class at Play Studio and it was so fun! I appreciated that the class was a challenge. This studio is suited for people with dance experience. While there are likely people here training to dance professionally, there are also people who are just here for fun. But, I like that the classes are at a level that create a challenge and keep your brain moving as you move through the choreo. I hate a boring class and this wasn't the least bit boring at all. The class moved quickly! The vibe was good and it feels like there's a nice community here. I love the variety of options they have and I'm excited to try a pom class next. The studio is located on the second floor of the building. Parking in the area is tough. Although the studio has a parking lot, there are very few spots. There are paid spots across the street, but it's tough to find a free spot, so leave yourself some time.

There are so many popular spots around CycleBar like Trader Joe's, Oakberry, and other busy restaurants so finding a space can definitely be difficult. But if you keep circling around, you'll eventually find one. I've been to CycleBar a few times before back home in Washington, and I was really excited to try this location for the first time. Unfortunately, my name got mixed up with someone else's and my reservation wasn't showing up on their screen, even though I had it on my phone. But the staff was super nice and got everything sorted out so I could still join the class. They gave me cycling shoes, and I loved that they wrote a cute little note on my locker. The whole vibe of CycleBar is something I've always loved the dark room with the red and purple lighting just feels so energizing. Our instructor was super upbeat and motivating, and I really enjoyed the flow of the class. The only critique I have is that it wasn't as challenging as the classes I've taken before; it felt more like a beginner-level ride. But it was still a great experience overall. I loved the music selection and the energy of the people in the room. Overall, I'd definitely recommend trying CycleBar for your first ride and seeing if it's your vibe. I absolutely love cycling and would continue coming back.

We were stressed because we only had a few weeks left before our wedding, but they were able to make it work. Liza and mark are amazing choreographers that taught us our full 2 minute dance in 4 sessions. They listened to our song the first day we went in and were able to choreograph 45 seconds on our first lesson off the top of their heads. It's nice having both Liza and Mark there to show us how to do the coupley moves and bounce ideas off each other. They were great at breaking down the dance into easy to digest steps. We are so happy with how our dance turned out. I like that they come up with the entire dance for you but that they are also very open to your ideas too, for example we saw some cute moves on tiktok that they were able to incorporate into our dance. Highly recommend.
