Came here foR the beginners pole dancing class, and was not disappointed. Nadine was the instructor at 8pm and she was running a little late since the schedule got botched somewhere down the line. She made it up to the class by providing us with the full time and I think 2 additional songs to freestyle style to. She is very vulgar but in a funny way. If you are easily offended (you're silly), you'll maybe want to pass on her class. She is welcoming and all of your nervousness just melts away with her spunky behavior. I have never taken pole dancing lessons but after this one class, I'm hooked. Btw, bring kneepads or wear leggings. I rubbed off some thigh meat from spinning on the pole so much (might be a me thing)

I have been doing pole for almost 3 years, then I got pregnant and continued until my body couldn't anymore. After having my baby, I wanted to reintegrate and I contacted the instructor (Lorena) as I felt ready to return. She was very patient with me and little by little I was regaining strength and confidence in myself to continue this sport that I love so much. I recommend this place because it has ample hours, parking and above all a good atmosphere.

This is the great place to learn Pole dance ! I've been in this Pole dance community almost 8yrs and I can proudly say that this is the one of the Best studio I can recommend in San Diego. Instructors are super inspired and motivated , I've learned a lot from them. They have day time class also weekend, and they now do have live streaming classes online due to the current Covid Situation. I highly recommend to check it out.. they will welcome you like you are already part of their family:)

13 classes in and WOW! I suggest knee pads for Nadine's classes, lots of water for Jess's and your A game for Stacey's hour. Lorena's spinning classes are still my favorites and yes- mommy got a gift certificate for Heel Bangers instead of a coffee pot this year!

Great instructors, small classes which allow personal focus and growth. Can't beat their prices! Most importantly DRAMA FREE! Come check them out

I proceeded to take my shoes off and she yells again "you only have 30 min!" I was like yes im aware ... I had been having a lot of stomach pain prior to this which made me late which is why I looked for the bathroom as I soon as I got there however I had already paid for the class and would have rather used 30 min I had left than to loose the class completely. I then set up myself on a pole she was not even at and she she asked me if I can move because she was taking videos and I moved to keep the peace. so when I moved I then asked her if she happened to know if there was pole grip or even to clean the pole and she answered extremely rude "no im trying to concentrate" mind you it was ok when she was the one disrupting me the entire time so I asked her "do you work here" she said yes but I paid for the class right now ... so im wondering why if you're taking this class as a STUDENT you are also taking on the role as EMPLOYEE at the same time? she then proceeded to talk smack and calll me names recorded me got in my face and put the video recording in my face and when I did it back she got mad and called the owner said she would get me kicked out. The owner was a little reasonable however she defended this person that would more than likely break down her business in the future just by studying the actions of her employee. She also continued to proceed by bringing up her RACE And Sexual orientation multiple times throughout the conversation to somehow justify the actions being done in this "safe and calm" environment to create . I think this woman is not thinking about the future costumers that might also walk in and feel uncomfortable but might not speak on the issue. She did give me my money back for my classes but was more in a rush to get me out the studio than to correct the behavior.

As someone who has been taking classes at both The Pole Collective and SD Pole Dance Academy for…read moreover a year, I feel like it's worth sharing that this is a very special place because of the people. Anyone can demonstrate things and hope that you are able to figure out how to manipulate your body to do the same thing but it takes very skilled and careful people to help you understand the building blocks and build the strength (and pain tolerance) to do some wild things in a safe way. Things that I deeply appreciate about the instructors and owner is that they provide instruction from a very educated, inclusive, and empowering place. I consider it a rebellion against patriarchal norms to take up space and if you're not used to it (as was I), The Pole Collective is definitely the place to start the journey for embodying that kind of power. Shout outs to some of the amazing instructors I've had the pleasure of learning from over the past year: Lezah and Tessa who challenge me just right Rosie who reminds me to take up space Mitchy whose twerk-bombs in my pole videos are a growing treasure Jen who choreography is fun and rewarding Carolina, the barefoot spin goddess Saidee who taste in music for a Sunday morning pole class always hits right I also love the people this place attracts. I've found a groove for some classes I take regularly and the ladies who also take the same classes regularly are supportive and really fun to take classes with! This place must be protected. At ALL COST!

They offer a variety of classes for different levels, so you can focus on multiple aspects of pole. As a teaching style, they focus on progressions and what I would refer to as perfection before progression - not in the sense that it has to be perfect but that they want you to be safe in your body and learn things the proper way before moving into more advanced skills. They are teaching pole students how to use their bodies and take care of them to protect themselves and keep them in good shape to be in pole for the long haul. That's what it's all about, especially as you get older and want to minimize any injuries. The staff is always welcoming and the people who take class are kind. It's a warm environment to be in and I've never once felt judged or left out of any circle. I bought a multi class punch card and tried a few classes, and though the dancing was really fun I almost felt like an intruder. The best way I can describe it is like their attitude was like "oh... Chandler spent the entire time chatting it up with the two other girls and basically pretending I didn't exist. I cannot stress enough that she ONLY made efforts to address and speak to these other two girls. If I made a comment or asked a question, it was briefly addressed and brushed passed. I've never had this problem before, so I'm not quite sure what's wrong yet. Both Oceanside and Encinitas are nice beach towns, too. So that's definitely a plus.
