I went to a Line Dancing class and it was a bit slow paced but mostly was not covering any of the dances you would do at an official line dance. (The music selected was not country-but my perspective is limited because I went to the one class.) I felt the $10 or $12 fee for a trial probably should have been waived. But if your looking for community and to move your body a bit and it is convenient, you might try it out. read more

The town itself is a nice area, you're not too far from Liberty Station and other pleasant views. As for the studio, the space is reasonable for maybe 20-30 people. I dig the arts on the wall and the general eclecticness. The dance floor was nice and the acoustics were good. It looks crowded but they make it work. Parking - limited parking and then there's street parking. Customer Service - Angel was a good host. Friendly dude! TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Gotta love the arts. I have taken floor work classes here. This studio is great for different dance styles and occasions. The management team is friendly and respectful. There is a lot parking available in the evenings. It's very safe to feel yourself and be creative inside the studio. Although, there is a certain interior design, but once you start dancing, nothing matters. There are plenty of chairs inside. This is the perfect place to learn a new dance routine (even for beginners). Jaami is the perfect, happy-go-lucky dance teacher. You can fit at least 50 people in the dance studio upstairs which has mirrors. Prices are totally reasonable, especially for large groups. Jaami choreographed our secret flash mob routine for a wedding. Search youtube for "nancy and karl dance practice" and you can see our routine. Most of us don't have a dance background and this was only our 2nd practice. read more

Jaami, among many other things, teaches choreographed dance to singers who want to hone their skills at dancing and singing at the same time. I really like how organic and "on the spot" she does everything. Some people might think that rigid processes or ways of doing things would be best in most cases (I was one of those people). However, she has so much experience that approaching her classes in a more free-style way allows for spontaneity and real-time improvement. This enables her to teach at the level and progress of the student(s) in reality, as opposed to being limited by the "plan". This isn't to say that she has no plan or pre-thought class structure. It just means she is fluid enough to take action on changing or improving things as the class progresses. I think it is a strength. Plus she is just badass at dancing and teaching dance ;). read more

I had taken a class and forgot a couple things at the studio and was given Jaami's contact information to coordinate when I could pick up my things. It's very hard to find parking near the studio, and I had trouble finding parking again, so I asked if someone could please bring my things to my car and that I would be right outside. I was not informed prior to arriving that there was going to be a class going on during the time I was supposed to grab my things. Jaami comes outside and throws her hands up in the air, visibly upset. She then says "it's not that hard to get out of your car," then throws my things in the passenger seat and, only then, lets me know that there is a class I was interrupting. As I tried to quickly apologize, she then says, "yeah whatever bye" and walks away. Had I known that there was going to be a class, I would've scheduled for a different time to pick up my belongings. I was actually interested in renting out the space for a class and had made in inquiry earlier this month through email. Needless to say, I will not pursue any business with this studio. read more

This place rocks!! The atmosphere is so trendy. It has a beautiful mural and red walls. Makes me feel like in some loft in New York or about to star in RENT :p There's tons of space and mirrors too which is nice. I take a dance class for singers here (The Ultimate Entertainer Workshop) and Jaami has been phenomenal!! She's hilarious and really cares about helping you no matter what level you're at. She's able to break things down to the simplest form which is key for someone like me who is a beginner. She has us doing pretty difficult choreo that I never thought I'd be able to do (especially while singing!), but the way she breaks it down makes it work!
