By the time Gayle and I arrived in Downtown Salta (via a flight from Iguazu and airport transfer), it was the middle time between Lunch and Dinner. Since we hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, a late Lunch was just fine with us.
We walked to the Main Square (Plaza 9 de Julio) and found the Madero Resto and Bar. It was a quiet respite, except maybe for the commotion on the other side of the Square, related to Boca's recent win over River.
Madero Resto Bar were maybe 30 minutes from shutting down for the afternoon, but we managed to order some basic provisions off the menu, along with wine and a big bottle of Salta Negra beer. The food and service were OK (Cash), and it was pleasant to sit in the shade on a nice Spring day and watch like go by.
