I had a very good experience with Madeleine Realty. Samantha was my agent. She was very professional and courteous on the phone, and she listened to what I was looking for in our next apartment very carefully, and did all the preparation before we met. Although I ended up renting an apartment from another realty, Samantha told me that there is no hard feelings or disappointments, and she just wanted me to be happy. I think that's a very rare quality in an agent. So I would recommend Samantha and Madeleine Realty to any of my friends, and definitely reach out to them if need to move again. Key words for Samantha: professional, courteous to everyone, well prepared, and good at following up. Key words for Madeleine Realty: Professional and nice people, excellent reputation in the neighborhood. read more

I recently bought a co-op in Forest Hills and couldn't be happier with my new home and with the exceptional service that I received from Madeleine Realty. My real estate broker was Debbie LaMacchia. It was very reassuring to know that I could count on her tremendous knowledge (both of the real estate markets and of Forest Hills at large) to help me navigate through all the hurdles that arise during the course of a first-time home purchase. If the other brokers at Madeleine Realty are as fantastic as Debbie, you can rest assured that you are in good hands with this agency. read more

Rob Fischer Rocks! My parents and I were referred to Madeleine Realty by a family friend after working with several incompetent agents and we were very happy with the service we were provided. I HIGHLY recommend working with Rob Fischer. He is very sweet, patient, funny, knowledgable in the real estate situation in Forest Hills, and truly a professional. Rob showed us different apartments to get a feel for what we liked and were looking for, he reviewed the pros and cons of every apartment to make sure we considered the whole pictures and then he found us the PERFECT apartment. Rob reviewed the board application with us and worked extra hours perfecting the application. He was very diligent in communicating our questions to the management company and the seller/seller's broker. Rob was always accessible via text, phone and email and never did I feel I was being neglected or not heard. He was truly a pleasure to work with. I will most definitely recommend Rob to any friends/acquaintances/colleagues who are looking for a great real estate agent. And should I be needing a new place in the upcoming years, my go to agent will be Rob. Thanks Rob for all the hard work - we really really appreciate everything! read more

There are a lot of real-estate agencies in Forest Hills, but here's the way we saw it: You can use one that's selling co-ops that haven't been remodeled since the '70s for well below market value, or you can use the one that's selling the $5-million homes across the train tracks in Forest Hills Gardens. It was an easy decision. We first attempted to sell our co-op ourselves, but we didn't really know what we were doing. Eventually, we buckled and called Madeleine. Alan Mann had someone in to see our apartment within a few days -- and they made an offer, which we accepted after a bit of negotiation. I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was. Alan was friendly, comprehensive, caring and skilled -- pretty much all you can hope for in a real-estate agent. Honestly, I think it'd be a mistake to go anywhere else if you're interested in selling your home. This is an agency that deals in quality properties, and if you're like us, you're going to get the results that match. read more

MARK WACKER / MADELEINE REALTY: 2 DUDS I own a coop apartment and called Madeleine Realty for assistance in renting it. The apartment has brand new kitchen appliances, a brand new air conditioner, and brand new bathroom fixtures along with a fresh paint job. The asking price for rent was also below market in an effort to have it rented asap. Mark Wacker was assigned to my apartment. He sounded great on the phone and we arranged a meeting at the apartment to talk. Mr. Wacker couldn't have been more enthusiastic at our meeting. He told me the apartment looked great and he expected it would rent very quickly. He talked to me about putting pictures of the apartment on madeleine.com website and he told me they would advertise it as well on craigslist. Upon leaving the apartment building, Mr. Wacker gave a few business cards to the doorman and told him that both he and his associates from Madeleine would be showing the apartment. It all sounded wonderful. Almost one week later, on a sunday evening, I called Mark for an update. He told me (1) neither he or any of his associates showed the apartment all weekend, (2) when I asked, he said he did not advertise it on craigslist or on the Madeleine.com website as of yet, (3) he "explained" the weekend is usually spent by him and his associates for "open houses" not rentals. After that last comment, Mr. Wacker abruptly ended the phone call telling me was busy with something and would call me back the next day. Its now four months later. I never heard from Mr. Wacker again. Needless to say, Mark Wacker was rude and unprofessional. Good news though: I hired another real estate agent who had the same enthusiasm that Mr. Wacker showed at our initial meeting. the big difference: this person knew how to advertise the apartment and got the job done quickly. I would never waste my time with Madeleine or Mr. Wacker again and neither should you. With response to the comment that was left by the Jacques A. below, I can assure you that I am a real person and that this did happen. Jacques, I will be happy to discuss this with you via phone. read more

I called up the office once to see a listing with a male agent. He was outright rude. When I asked him a question, he could barely contain his impatience by blurting "I already told you!" On top of that he misunderstood my question. Then he was not very eager to show me the place, I suspect he already had an accepted offer. But a good agent would do their job and continue to show unless there's a signed contract to get the seller the highest offer. So this guy is a bad deal for both seller and buyer. (Sorry to the other male agents at the office, I'm not saying all of you are bad at your job) read more

I was working with Debbie LaMacchia for the purchase of my current coop apartment. At the beginning of apartment hunting, I had no idea about many concepts that are very important in coop, such as the how to correctly calculate the debt income ratio, assessment, etc. Even though I knew little about this market, could only afford cheaper one-bedroom or studio and was just a random walk-in customer, Debbie was still very patient, teaching me all things I have to pay attention to and giving me a clear direction about what/where/how to look at apartment deals. I'm a cautious buyer and therefore, I did a lot of homework and constantly searched new deals on Redfin. I sent out a lot of links of deals to Debbie, but she was really patient to schedule all appointments for me. She also referred me the mortgage lenders and attorneys that are easy to work with. In my first purchase, I was denied for reasons I don't know. But Debbie didn't give up upon my case and we continued to look for new deals. At that time I was frustrated, but she didn't urge me to place offer easily just because I wanted one, even though that was not her interest, which is to get the commission. She truly thinks for the customers. Eventually I found a nice studio and she reviewed my application package (twice, first time was the unsuccessful purchase application). Eventually the purchase was approved very smoothly. In my purchase experience, I met many agents in open houses or appointments, but I can feel many of them just want to earn the commission as soon as possible but don't care about the buyers or sellers. However, Debbie is not that type of broker. She is a truly a broker that works for the interest of customers. Therefore, I recommend her wholeheartedly. read more

We just moved out of Forest Hills due to a job relocation. But this realty company is fantastic. We worked with Joe Marx when we first looked for a pet friendly apartment in FH. Very helpful and on top of things. Got our application in and paperwork taken care of. We also worked with Elaine. She was extremely helpful when we had to leave in the middle of our lease to move to Albany. She contacted the management company of our building, kept us in the loop in terms of who was looking at our apartment, getting our apartment shown and finally getting it rented out. Everyone there has been very helpful. If you're looking for an apartment in Queens, definitely stop by here! read more

My family and I worked with Alan Mann from Madeleine Realty. He was very professional and courteous. He listened to what we needed and delivered on a timely basis. After a few months of cooperation and work, we now own a house. I highly recommend Alan as an agent and Madeleine Realty. read more

Thanks to Madeleine Realty, my husband, children, and I are in our ideal home. For about a thousand dollars LESS than we originally budgeted. One rainy afternoon, we walked in off the street (having gotten the office's info from the NYT Living in....series) and had the good fortune to be met by Mr. Rob Fischer. An erudite yet approachable figure, Mr. Fischer was patient, courteous, and calm throughout our months-long apartment hunt. As aesthetes and native New Yorkers-- with the added logistical burden of toddlers-- we had a long list of requirements. We were living at the time in another city, making our search that much more challenging. Ultimately, Mr. Fischer pulled through, sagely advising us to RACE over to see a choice property at a great price. And race we did. And choice it was. Spacious, sunny, with beautiful floors, huge closets, and two full bathrooms, our new pad is across the street from an adorable playground and within the borders of one of NYC's finest public school zones. If you plan to move to Forest Hills, three words: Madeleine Rob Fischer. read more

My husband and I also worked with Samantha at Madeleine Realty and cannot say enough great things about her. I was incredibly stressed out about moving to a new area and her kind and professional disposition immediately put me at ease. She's knowledgeable and on-the-ball with everything. She patiently answered all my questions about Forest Hills and every apartment we looked at, and she truly fights for her clients (in terms of negotiations) and wants them to be happy. I recommend her to anyone seeking an apartment in Queens. read more

Debbie Lamacchia helped my mother with downsizing from a house to an apartment through what was an arduous process with the determination and patience of a great real estate agent and human. We really could not have done it without her as she consistently came up with great ideas, was on top of listings and fast on the draw. She should have been paid 10x her commish check read more

My husband and I had a great experience searching for Jr. 4 apartment to rent in Forest Hills once we met Rob Fischer. Rob knows a lot about the area and we ended up applying for an apartment that he showed us. Throughout the application process, Rob was thorough, friendly and optimistic. He was easy to get in touch with and got us into a gorgeous, spacious apartment in the perfect location. We have been in our new apartment for a month now and are really enjoying it. Would highly recommend Rob and Madeleine Realty to anyone looking for a place in Forest Hills! read more

Finding a good realtor in Forest Hills is next to impossible. We googled "forest hills rentals" and Madeline Realty came up in the search. We thought we were going to deal with just another typical broker who over promised, under delivered, and was too pushy....but Madeline Realty is TOTALLY different. Our broker is Debbie LaMacchia. She is, without a doubt, the most patient, kind, understanding realtor I've ever dealt with ANYWHERE. We told her we had a dog, and instead of asking us to SELL it like other loser realtors did, she immediately started looking at pet friendly places. Debbie showed us apartments EXACTLY in our price range, EXACTLY in the location we wanted, she NEVER was pushy about anything, and we finally found our dream apartment yesterday :) My husband and I are newly married, and we want a place to call our home for the next few years. A place where we can build a life together, and grow. and because of Debbie, we found it. And, when it comes time to upgrade to a larger place, Debbie will be our first call. Thank you Debbie! You are TRULY the best! read more

I worked with Debbie LaMacchia for a recent co-op I closed on in Queens. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. She made herself available to answer all of our questions, even after closing. She made sure that our board package was in good shape, and really made helpful suggestions to make it more presentable. She also was more than happy to open up and show us the place on multiple occasions during the whole process, even if it was just to take measurements of all the rooms. Even weekends and after work hours! She helped provide recommendations for homeowner's insurance, mortgage brokers, general contractors, and more. As a first time home buyer, she really made the process easy and simple, and even though she worked for the seller, she worked equally as hard for us. One great thing is that she's in the same co-op, and is still offering to help us. It's great to know that even now after everything is settled, she's still a big help. read more

This was few years ago when I tried to meet up with one of the agents at Madeleine Realty for a house I was interested in buying, but he had a "don't-waste-my-time" attitude and had a tough time setting up a time in the first place (making it sound as if he was a very very busy person) and for some reason I had to meet him at his office first rather than on-sight. Unfortunately I was running a little late from seeing another house and I apologized over a phone, asking if we can meet on-sight, since the real estate agency office was far away from where I was (and all of the seeings for the other agencies we met on-sight anyways). He then became very belligerent and profane (not that he wasn't already but more) and the meeting was canceled. I am very fortunate to not proceed with this realty, but it seems like the agent that I am referring to has since left (according to the website), so maybe now it is better. But still does not erase the fact that I had a bad experience. read more

My wife and I went to Madeline Realty to check on rentals in the Forest Hills area. I spoke to Mark Wacker over the phone. He was understanding, helpful and responsive. We arranged to see him the same day, and we found him equally understanding, helpful and responsive in person. He drove us to various listings in Forest Hills. He was thorough and knowledgeable as he showed us around, and also low-pressure. While we have decided not to rent in Forest Hills, this was in no way Mark Wacker's fault. If we were to go back to Forest Hills, we would definitely use Mark again. read more

I worked with Jacque Ambron who never got back to me about an offer I made on an apt., and another woman (I forget her name) who was disdainful. I also saw an apt. sold by Alan Mann and he is overly friendly then not, very phony. No one is genuine and everyone cares only about making money. I would stay away unless you are OK with being treated like a walking dollar sign. read more

Jacque Ambron, owner of Madeline Realty, has been renting a house for me in Forest HIlls since 1996. The last renters completely totaled my property--they were filthy hoarders. My house was full of their belongings, grease all over the hardwood floors, roaches and mice everywhere! Ambron is responsible for allowing the house I grew up in to be trashed. He also told me he had done repairs that were really not done. He said he had replaced the roof (at my expense) and when my contractor went up there it was only patched. STAY AWAY FROM HIM! read more

The most unprofessional agent Jacques Ambron I have ever encountered in this business. I scheduled an appointment, to see apartment on Austin Street on a weekday (had to leave early from work) guy never showed up, called, text or email!!!! while waiting I sent him email just to make sure there was no misunderstanding. No Answer! Next day I called agency and explained a situation, they assured me they will get back to me as soon as possible, and no one ever did. Stay away from Jacques Ambron The Deceiver!! read more

In June, my wife and I were helping our son find an apartment in New York. We also knew that he would need a guarantor. Since we live in Texas and the New York rental market is completely foreign to us, I read about it online and read a lot of horror stories about realtors. I read some good reviews about Alan Mann and called him. He answered my questions over the phone and we made arrangements to meet him. We emailed Alan with our son's wishlist and budget. We met Alan at his office and he was there and ready to show us what he had. Alan had 7 different apartments to show us that were within my son's budget. As we walked to the different apartments, Alan talked about the neighborhoods and particular buildings. Alan clearly made an effort to show us apartments that fit or came close to our son's wishlist. Alan also explained that since we would be an out of state guarantor, that not all apartments were willing to rent to someone with an out of state guarantor and, again, showed us those apartments that would accept us as guarantors. Our son ultimately found a sublease situation in Manhattan and took that. Alan Mann was very professional and helpful and we would not hesitate to contact him again in the future and use him. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful team behind Madeleine Realty. One of the agents, Robert Miller, was our saving grace who ended a long string of disappointing real estate experiences. We knew instantly that we were in good hands with Bob, as he worked tirelessly to find apartments that fit our very specific criteria, and never grew impatient through the numerous showings. Months later, I am happy to report that we have found a wonderful apartment, and that Bob has become not only our knight in shining armor agent, but our friend as well. If you are looking for a new home in the Forest Hills area there is no need to look elsewhere- Bob and the whole crew at Madeleine are there to help! read more

My wife and I recently used Madeleine Realty to locate our new apartment in forest hills queen and i can tell you that they are the best in the area! Our agent, Rob Fisher took the time to first talk to us about what we were looking for and what we wanted to avoid and based on that information, he took us to the perfect listings and we found our next apartment quickly and without a hassle. Rob is excellent on follow up- even on days off he makes it a point to get back to you almost always the same day you leave him a message or an email. He even found us a parking spot to go with our new apartment! triple A service!! highly recommend if your even thinking of moving to the forest hills/rego park area! read more

I've been dealing w. Madeleine Realty for over 20 years in renting and selling properties. Maintaining such long relationship is in itself a recommendation of their expertise and integrity. Yes, there are exceptional real estate agents who care about meeting your needs and Robert Miller of Madeleine Realty is one of them. After spending a long day on our own searching apartments in Forest Hills, my wife and I stubbled on this storefront and decided to walk in. We met Robert Miller who was incredibly patient, really gave us the inside "scoop" about the market and embarked on finding an apartment that met our needs his challenge as well as ours. Robert was incredibly responsive, found us several viable options we would have never found and best of all, never wasted our time which we found to be commonplace with almost anyone else we met and worked with. We can highly recommend working with Robert. read more
