ReStore sells new and used appliances (e.g., washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves), furniture (e.g., couches, chairs, dining sets, and dressers), building materials (e.g., hardware, flooring, light fixtures, plumbing supplies, and windows), and home décor at low prices. The proceeds from the sales are used to build and repair housing for low-income families in the Pittsburgh area. Most recently, I emailed ReStore to ask if they would accept my shelving unit, coat rack, light fixtures, space heater, flower pots, hose hangers, and other items. I was required to send photos of the items to show the style and condition. Two days later, an employee replied that they would accept my items, and he scheduled a pickup from my house for several days later. On the pickup day, the pickup window was from 9 AM to 3 PM, and 15 minutes before the driver arrived at my house, he called me to inform me that he was on his way. The driver pulled up to my house in a truck (see the attached photo). He was very polite, and he moved my items from my driveway into his truck. At the end of his visit, he handed me a receipt, and he kindly thanked me and wished me a great day.

You could easily spend a couple hours browsing through here and sadly I only had 15 or 20 mins. We left with 3 ceramic bowls that were priced extremely fairly for the quality. I'll be back again to spend more time and surely find more steals.

Now when I go here I rarely find anything. They advertise that everything is half off except one color except the catch is that everything is priced 5 times more than other thrift stores, and the stuff they put out that week is full price. $29 for a used plain Carhartt hoodie!? Seriously? Counterfeit Jordans for $130? That's just trying to exploit someone who doesn't know any better. I've heard the staff talking about how much stuff sells online and I understand that this business has to make money to stay open but everything here is donated and at a certain point it's just not worth coming here any more. You're far better off buying second hand online than wasting your time digging through a bunch of junk only to find something you like priced nearly as much as it retails for. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this store if you're looking for a good deal. I no longer donate here because I know they will use my donation to rip someone else off, I would recommend donating your stuff to another thrift store who will sell it to someone who needs it rather than this place who is trying to make as much as they possibly can off of your kindness.
