They were very professional and polite and offered a lot of good information regarding replacing what I already had that had lasted since 1997. I also really enjoyed was that there is a huge selection of materials and that they are long lasting. I actually selected new clips to tie down the ropes with and they were able to put them up and they look spectacular as well as instead of white ropes. They put black ropes which looks really stunning up against the house. All in all whatever it is, you need they can really customize it and make it look phenomenal right now. It looks too good for the house, and it feels like there should be some bistro beneath the awnings. I would highly recommend them. It's not inexpensive, but it's worth it.

There was a huge and very heavy boulder of unmovable ice lodged on top of this for weeks. We needed to wait for it to melt. The frame, mounting and fabric all survived this ordeal unscathed. The quality is extremely high. And I highly recommend them and will absolutely return. I will mention however, these people are not great communicators. Calls went unanswered, the installers just showed up without an appointment. This can be sharpened up. But otherwise, I thank you folks very much for an excellent product made locally at a fair price!

Fantastic company! Hassle free and so easy to work with. I did my research online for an awning…read moreafter building a deck on the back of the house this past summer and decided we needed an awning. I found Awnings by Clark and looked through the website and liked what I saw and read and reached out to them. They returned my call a few days later (I called on a weekend) I set up a consultation at home and the sales agent showed up on time and was very professional and answered all of my questions with a satisfactory answer and explanations. He showed me awnings color samples and we selected the frame color and awning color and went from there. He explained that it takes about 8-10 weeks to make it and that they would call to set up the installation date around that time. Well temper actually ended up being quicker than the 8-10 weeks called to set a date for install. The woman setting my appointment explained it would take 3-4 hours to install and that if the day of installation turned out to be a bad weather day they would need to move it. That is completely understandable. My install day came and they ended up showing up earlier than my scheduled appointment and called to ask if it would be okay which I said it was but I needed an hour to get home from work and asked if they could grab lunch and kill some time, they said they could and they will see me soon. The installation crew showed up and were professional and courteous and explained the process of hanging the awning from the house and as they got it set up they would let know so they could ask for my input. Once they were completely finished they showed me how to use the Manuel crank to bring the awning in and out should the power fail, they showed me the open and close remote control and how to change the batteries on the wind sensor should the batteries die and how the awning will act if the batteries are dead. From start to finish the process was stress free and handled professionally and quickly. The awning we had installed was a motorized retractable awning with remote and opens to cover a 14' X 18'6" area. We paid for the optional wind sensor that detects winds that get up to 20 MPH and will retract itself so the wind won't damage it. The price tag at first seemed steep but after seeing it, using the remote and seeing the amount of sun it blocks I am extremely pleased with it and believe it is worth every penny.

Disappointed With Hoffman Awning and Their Warranty Our…read morechurch purchased two large entrance awnings from A. Hoffman Awning Company. We paid $9,980 for the completed project and expected that we were purchasing a quality commercial product that would provide many years of service. After approximately seven years, the seams began separating. The fabric itself is not simply worn out. The failure is occurring at the seams. What makes this especially disappointing is the warranty representation made when Hoffman sold us the awnings. I still have Hoffman's original written estimate dated September 17, 2018. It describes the awning and states, in Hoffman's own words, "12 years warranty." The manufacturer's paperwork supplied with the job also provides a 10-year limited warranty on the Recacril fabric. Now that the seams are failing, Hoffman takes the position that the manufacturer's fabric warranty is separate from the seams/workmanship and that its normal workmanship warranty is only one year. I understand that distinction now. The problem is that Hoffman's original estimate did not say, "12-year fabric warranty, but only one year on the seams." It simply said "12 years warranty." During my recent conversation with Hoffman, I was also told that seam failure after this period of time is reasonable. That was difficult for me to accept. If we had been told when purchasing nearly $10,000 worth of awnings that the seams might reasonably last only six or seven years, it certainly would have affected our decision to purchase them. So I contacted another established awning company that had actually inspected our awnings and asked specifically about the failed seams. Their representative confirmed that the failure was at the sealed/welded seams and told me that this normally should not happen after only six or seven years. He then put the owner of the company on the telephone. The owner, who told me he has approximately 40 years of experience in the business, was even more direct: "That shouldn't happen within six years." He explained that his company guarantees sealed seams for the life of the fabric and offered to put that guarantee in writing. That comparison is what ultimately convinced me that my expectations were not unreasonable. To Hoffman's credit, they have offered to replace the awning fabric for approximately $5,250, which they said was a reduced price. I appreciate the reduction. But I cannot justify asking our church to spend another $5,250 after only about seven years to replace awnings whose seams are failing, particularly when the original Hoffman estimate advertised a 12-year warranty. Hoffman also acknowledged that our situation had not been handled well. During one of our conversations I was told, "We've done a lot of things wrong." Unfortunately, acknowledging that has not resulted in Hoffman standing behind the failed seams. I don't expect an awning to last forever, and I don't expect a company to repair normal wear indefinitely. But I do expect the seams of a professionally manufactured commercial awning to last substantially longer than six or seven years, particularly when the awning was sold with "12 years warranty" written on the estimate. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Hoffman Awning. If you are considering purchasing from them, my suggestion is simple: Before signing anything, ask Hoffman to put in writing exactly how long the seams and workmanship are guaranteed. Do not assume that the warranty period printed on the estimate means the entire awning is warranted for that length of time.
