Usually, when I don't know what the house drip coffee tastes like, I'll order an Americano, because they tend to be balanced, no matter which coffee shop I'm visiting. My instincts were right! The Americano at Wanderlust is mighty tasty. If you have time to sit a spell, I suggest ordering your coffee "for here" so you can drink it out of a real cup, like a real boy. There are lots of places to sit and sip your stuff, not just in the immediate area, but there's also a separate room across the way with even more seating. That's also where the restrooms are located. Side note: Even if you don't need to use the restroom, you should visit the restroom. It is a sight to behold. I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to get a pastry to go with my coffee. There was this slab-cream-pie-pastry-looking number calling my name from the case. It was very creamy and flaky and rich, and went well with my coffee. No regerts.

We were greeted by the 2 staff members behind the counter. (I didn't catch their names) But they were super friendly in discussing the menu and giving their thoughts on a variety of drinks I named. Java House has a good sized menu, so be prepared to narrow it down. lol. (I ended up going with the Tedster. As the staff said, it's been rated a customer favorite! I see why now!)The Tedster is a salted caramel latte: available in hot or iced. I got the iced version and it was delicious! It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I would definitely order this drink again. The store was clean and they have a few tables inside for customers to sit and enjoy their beverage. They also have pastries as well if you need a quick bite. Overall, great staff, great experience!

I think I've finally settled into this place although it's out of the way for me to make regular visits. (Note to managers: look at Veterans for your next location.) I had the Pesto Provolone Muffin and it was tasty and fresh. I'm not into the super sweet drinks they serve but a latte with oat milk hits the spot. The interesting thing about Java House is that ALL drinks are made with either cold brew or cold brew concentrate. My latte is made with the concentrate, not espresso. Purists may argue it's not really a "latte" but it does taste like a latte. If I could stop at Java House more often, I would.

Unfortunately, it was almost pure white like milk, tasted synthetic, and neither I nor my sister could enjoy it. I kindly asked if it could be remade or replaced with something else, but the staff declined and told me in a very condescending way I'd need to pay again if I wanted a different drink. Which is fine, a simple apology would have also worked. That was disappointing on its own, especially since this has been one of my favorite coffee shops and I've brought plenty of friends, neighbors, and even visiting family here to support the business. What truly drops this review to one star, however, was the shocking response I received from one of the employees. She cussed me out, yelled, flipped me off, threatened to call the cops on me, and screamed for me to never come back--all while I had my baby with me. I've never experienced such unprofessional treatment from a business. I can only hope the owner reviews the cameras from this incident and takes the matter seriously. Sadly, I will no longer be returning or recommending this café to others.

We ordered the ube crème brûlée drink, their signature milk tea, and an egg tart. The drinks were okay, although 50% sugar tasted more like 100% sugar at most other places. The egg tart was easily the biggest disappointment. It tasted like a frozen, reheated tart, and after one bite we realized the filling was still cold in the center. The crust wasn't crispy at all either, so paying $2.50 for it felt like a waste. Service was also disappointing. We were the only customers in the store and waited around 20 minutes, assuming they were still preparing our order, only to realize it had already been sitting ready for about 10 minutes and no one had notified us. Overall, definitely not the experience my wife remembered from years ago.
