During our visit, my wife asked for a couple of coins to use the massage chair, but the front desk associate, Julia, denied her request, stating that she was not a Black Card member. I then approached the counter and requested the coins myself. Julia looked at me in an odd manner and handed me one coin. When I asked, "Just one?", she gave me a second. I explained that I usually receive three coins, so she reluctantly handed me a third. I informed her that my wife would be using the chair instead of me, but she responded rudely, saying, "She is not a Black Card member, she can't use it." I found her tone and attitude unprofessional and disappointing. I also noticed other members requesting and receiving coins without any issue. I've always appreciated Planet Fitness for being a judgment-free and relaxing environment, but today's experience was frustrating and disheartening. The soap dispenser doesn't work. There are signs in the bathroom (near the two urinals that are out of order) that say, "Wash your hands 'after' you leave the restroom." How is that possible. Indoors is a weight room, cardio studio, yoga and group exercise areas along with steam room & dry sauna, a spin room plus meeting areas. There are locker rooms for changing complete with showers, restrooms, etc. Outside you have soccer fields plus athletic fields plus two swimming pools for seasonal recreation. The group fitness instructors are friendly, helpful & knowledgeable and there are many different classes to choose from. It's an older building, so it lacks some of the bells & whistles that more trendy gyms have, but delivers a lot of options for money well spent.

I was told that they 100% took my insurance (I have CareFirst BlueChoice) and they even went so far as to let me know how many visits per year are covered by my insurance for each of the staff members I would be working with. The problem is that they failed to mention that CoreLife stopped partnering with my insurance in 2020!!! What they told me when I called about the $1896.00 bill that was sent to me 3 months later was that they just received notification from MY INSURANCE that I was not covered for their services. They knew I wasn't covered, yet kept telling me I was and not to worry about it!! What a scam this company is. They wait until you are so far in that you now need to dig yourself out of a BIG HOLE that they put you in!! I was informed by the girl doing the intake that corporate makes them tell patients they are covered! These people are unethical to say the least. So now I have filed a complaint with both the Attorney General as well as the Better Business Bureau. This company should be put out of business for their practices. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THE SERVICES OF THIS COMPANY! Use any other health care provider for your weight loss needs. I recommend using the Maryland Medical Clinic in Frederick Md. They are up front with all costs, what you are covered for and how much you will be charged ALL BEFORE YOU START SERVICES!!!

My insurance was verified about a week prior to starting the program. I was told that the initial intake would be 100% covered, to include seeing the nurse, nutritionist and movement person. I was told that, after the intake, my insurance would not cover any visit with the nutritionist. I agreed to pay that cost out of pocket. My final visit to Core Life was on May 25, 2022. Up to that point, the billing still was up to date but I continued to pay what I owed until I thought my financial obligation was complete. On March 22, 2023, I received a bill in the amount of $321.60 for the initial consultation with the nutritionist on October 21, 2021. I tried getting the issued resolved with the billing department but the person I spoke to said she couldn't do anything to help and that I would have to contact the Westminster office directly. So, I tried that twice with the promise of "it's being reviewed" and "I'll get back to you." Since then, I've received two more bills both with the same statement date. I have NEVER received a call back. This billing issue has ruined my whole experience with Core Life. If you need help, try a different provider. No one needs this kind of aggravation. Barbara J.

The gym is awesome, its a real rocky type of experience in an old brick building with a loft/open feel. Lots of equipment and great people there. Joe couldnt be an nicer and more welcoming and his classes will teach you kick butt while shaving off the calories as well.
