So, my window instillation was not the best as there was air coming in from around the side of the windows. The windows themselves are excellent, top quality, very solid. If that was the end of the story I would just give a 3 star review. However, the reason I taking the time to write this review is because of the incredible customer service this company provides. They really will go to the ends of the earth to make you happy. Anyone who wrote a bad review I can only assume never followed up with submitted an issue to customer services. They came out twice the first time they took out the trim of the window and added more insulation. Still the air was coming through the sides. So, on the second visit their service guy took out all the trim around two enormous windows, then proceeded to add by hand insulation stuffed to the brim not the cheap spray stuff. Reinstalled all the trim without any damage spend over 3 hours making sure no air was coming through. It was beyond my expectations and probably beyond the scope of their responsibility to fix the windows. I am extremely happy with how things turned out, so just want to share what a great job they did. read more

Just over 6 months ago we got brand new counter tops installed in our kitchen. We have 25ft of countertop space so you can just imagine how expensive these were. A few weeks ago i noticed that part of the countertop design was lifting off of the wood itself. Called their service team to get help, they said they would call back yet never did. Went on to the website, submitted a service claim, got an email that i would hear back in 24 - 48 hours.... it has been 5 days. From the moment I agreed to speak to a salesperson until my last payment to the finance company they gave my business to, it's been nothing short of a nightmare. I was told that if I signed "that day" that the salesperson entered my home, I'd receive a $100 gift card - too bad it's only good for a few restaurants I've never even heard of!! When I asked them to just send the $100 in the form of American Express or whatever, they sent me yet another link that led to nowhere. The finance company - Service Finance Company - they'll get my next review - swindled extra money from me by sending a bill AFTER the grace period of no-interest was over, only to charge me interest! This BS company put in a shoddy POS walk-in shower in my in-laws home. They told them that they could "finance" in house. The company they use won't even tell us the payoff without written request; by the time it is received, the date of the payoff amount is already past. The "invoice" always comes with only the amount due and not the totals. This is a PREDATORY LENDER and shouldn't be used by anyone - nor would it be used by an upright business operator. The shower product is garbage, contractor grade walls and floor and the "installer" ruined the existing flooring when they installed. We had to have the entire bathroom floor replaced because of the open sub-floor showing in a 4" x 18" strip immediately adjacent to the shower (wish I had taken a before pic!). Then, after our family member passed away, I called to have them taken off the mailing list and the staff member was dismissive and snotty. She consistently talked over me. She obviously has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE training. And she refused to remove them unless I could give her the phone number they used when they purchased. Since my LO has changed numbers multiple times I told her I don't have the number they used and she insisted that the address of the installation couldn't be used. Top this all off with the $10,000 shower that they were set to pay off over the rest of both of their lives and this is a company NOONE should do business with. RUN AWAY from this business. Very annoying sales tactics! I have an interest to upgrade my countertop and met them in Sam's. After scheduling a visit quote its sales (both on site and online) asked so many questions that has nothing to do with the business and trying to get more information, don't know why but happened. Monday morning (schedule a Tue appointment) it called again saying verifying the visit (third time), I denied some stupid questions and pointed it's annoying, a few minutes later a message came saying "your appointment get cancelled". My husband and I have been getting estimates to convert a regular shower into a no threshold shower to prepare to retire in place safely. We had approached Mad City a few months ago and the guy came out and literally stood in the doorway and told us that "we cannot do that." I thought this was weird because he literally never saw the bathroom. We then showed him that we wanted to replace the range hood and upgrade it. He looked around the corner from our doorway and stated "we cannot do it." After we tried several times on different projects that we wanted to do around the house and his response being the same...we invited the gentleman out. Several months went by and I was thinking that surely this guy didn't work at this place. So I called and spoke with Kasey who was wonderful and stated that their guys can indeed create a zero entry shower. And the next day I received confirmation after confirmation after confirmation. The confirmations were texted to me, emailed to me, was attempted to call into me. They asked whether my husband could be there and we made sure my husband came home early from work to be there. Ok, I said, maybe they are concerned about liability or something and different workers were sending confirmations. Whatever. Last night was our scheduled appointment. We were called throughout the day to make sure we were going to be home and that my husband would be there. My last call from them about 3 hours before our scheduled appointment I was asked if it would be ok if the estimator was late because of traffic etc. Sure. Whatever. We were told if this was the case, that someone would call us. Never received another call. My husband and I waited for over an hour. We were told that "maybe there could be traffic" and I told them that my husband just got home from the other side of town, so if there was traffic, he didn't see any. We waited for over an HOUR. No call. No nothing. We will NEVER approach this business EVER again. I am very happy for the people who got a lovely shower, you must have won the lottery with that anomaly. THIS PLACE IS THE WORSE! I sincerely regret purchasing my shower replacement from this company. I was desperate to get a working shower by Christmas 2019, so I overpaid for my shower replacement, and then waited for weeks as parts took longer than expected to come in. Then, the guy who did the install, did sloppy work, leaving lines that weren't level inside my shower. The person who sold me the shower promised I could clean it using just vinegar - that was a lie. This is harder to clean than my old tile shower it replaced. They also told me there would be no seams in the panels, but there are - and they are covered by a decorative cover up that has a caulk color that just doesn't quite go right. And yet they have no other caulk colors that actually match. Speaking of caulk - I let the shower dry for several days after the install, but within six months it was covered in mold. They came out and replaced the caulk, but here we are less than two months later, and the caulk is moldy again. Several of my neighbors are considering redoing their bathrooms and I have told them to run -- not walk -- away. read more

An update from my last review of 8/19/2022. We STILL do not have our shower door. As my previous review explains, we were lied to, then tricked into an incomplete install, against our explicitly expressed wishes for the job not to begin until ALL of the components were in. I can only imagine that this was so they could secure the money in an attempt to insure we were not able to back out of the contract. I called to get a quote from them to put in a new shower for my mom who is getting older and can't step up well. The salesman came to my house and measured the bathtub and we went through the 2 hour long song and dance. I just needed to get it done for my mom. Their selection is terrible and the prices are ridiculous. They told me they had teams of employees that would handle the demolition, the cutting and the install. They sent one guy who was a contractor and not an employee. Everything they told me was a lie. They told me they had this great material and it turns out it was plastic and vinyl. Two weeks after the install, one of the shower doors exploded. Like it shook the house exploded. I emailed them and tried to call as they said they have a 24/7 customer support system, but they don't. Lie again. I asked them when this issue would be resolved, but they couldn't tell me. I filled out the online forms for an estimate. I got a text the next morning pressuring me to set an appointment for the very next day. When I didn't respond immediately, I received THREE phone calls from two different numbers in under 15 seconds, one calling back the moment the first call went to voice-mail. I then texted the first person back, stating I wasn't interested and felt like I was being stalked. He continued texting me to the point I felt harassed and I had to block the number. Took over a year to get a window installed somewhat correctly from the initial installation date. Two frames, over three different glass replacements, and missed days in the office and the window still isn't as advertised to me. Was told I would be given a call after the last install months ago to discuss some kind of compensation for the issues but never received a call. Installation is still poorly done. Mad City Windows & Baths replaced bathroom tub (Waukesha county). This was done okay but plumbing is not good. Pipe extension for shower head is loose and moving with every touch. Shower handle was installed incorrectly after few times being used I was not able to shutoff water which would run for long time if I wouldn't disassemble it and fix. When they installed they lost one part (steam extension) and just secured handle with bolt which got loose after being used few times. I do not recommend them if you can't fix their mistakes after they are gone. read more

I had them install a walk-in shower recently. The install was fine. That being said, the commercial on TV offered 1/2 off installation and a Walmart gift card. When the salesman wrote up the order he started with a figure but on the order the subtractions are not there. I didn't notice this right away or they wouldn't have gotten a dime of my money. I called the salesman, he blew me off. I called the sales manager and explained the issue. He said it wasn't his area and would find the right person and I would receive a call. I did not. I left a voicemail message a week later. I haven't gotten a return call. My neighbor saw the sign and inquired. I told her not to use them because they are a rip off and customer service sucks once they get your money. Do not use Mad City! They left a sign in the yard to advertise I pulled it up and threw it in the garage. I wouldn't want anyone else to think they're an honest company. read more

I chose Mad City because I thought it would be a quality product and it would help eliminate the added stress to my life of a complete kitchen remodel. This was the biggest and most expensive mistake of my life. What should have been a week project turned into a near 6-month kitchen nightmare. The biggest problem was a lack of communication between the teams and the craftsmanship. They wanted me to sign a new contract and pay more money for two drawers to be converted to soft close. I could not believe that considering I was paying $15,000. How was that not in the contract? That was the number one item I wanted in my kitchen, everything soft close. I expressed that more than once to different people in the process. They did eventually do the job without additional charge, but there is so much more regarding the work. They also had me measure the drawer boxes so they could order new parts and that was not my job. They installed the wrong kind of lazy Susan door, they were missing hardware and had to order more parts several times. A cabinet was removed and was missing the side wall by the dishwasher, a new drawer did not open and close properly (actually none of drawers they installed and supposedly fixed work properly), there was glue on the wall, nails were exposed in the cabinets, a couple seems looked messy and the trash bin roll out is cheap. That was not quality. You can get that insert for 100 dollars at Home Depot. I wanted the slide out trash cabinet. I had counter installers come, and they said the new cabinets were not level with previous cabinets. It was yet another find of unchecked work. A cabinet that they installed was supposedly too big for the door soft close to work. If that was going to be an issue, they should have advised against it, instead of me just having to "accept it" after it was installed. Same goes for their soft close drawers. They do not work properly. They should not offer soft close because they just give excuses for why they operate incorrectly instead of resolving the issue. If it not human error in the install, then it is the product. Fix it. They lacked craftsmanship and failed to provide a quality product. They did not check their work as they worked, and they would not have fixed problems unless we said something. So we were no longer confident in their work and had to inspect everything because of it. There was very poor communication and execution in everything. They ordered the wrong lazy Susan door 3 times. When door would come in, I thought I would be priority. They would make an appointment yet another 2 weeks out after getting the part, which was a lot of time already to receive. I could have had a new kitchen for $15,000, including counters, backsplash and better inserts and slide outs. None of that was included. I still have to paint the inside and bottom of the cabinets because they do not touch those in a kitchen resurfacing job, which I agreed to, but the details matter for the amount of money they charge and considering what is not included in the price. I was expecting a quality experience and product for that price. 5 months instead of 5 days, that is unacceptable. I asked them to come later in the morning for one of the last visits, as I had a Dr. appointment, and my partner works nights. But they still came 8am even though I had a voicemail confirmation of 10:30am. I was not home, and they woke up my partner. Each time is an inconvenience for scheduling and for the visit. It has been so many times. Doggy proofing the kitchen, taking stuff out of cabinets, and being available. And the cleanup... every time. You will spend hours cleaning afterwards. I was never happy with the final product. I signed it completed because I was tired of asking them to fix things and it not happening, even if some of the list was addressed. I wanted them out of my house and out of my life. It was causing too much ongoing stress and it will haunt my kitchen choices and my bank account for the future. The execution of this project was extremely poor and an inconvenience. They are supposed to be the designers, and professionals not just in the trade of installing but in business, that was not the case. I just wanted to be happy with the service and my kitchen. I was only one customer and one kitchen to Mad City, but that was my entire experience, my entire kitchen, and my money. I felt taken advantage of. This was a total scam. Only one month after the kitchen was "finished" a drawer became completely detached from the cabinet from regular use. The screws were put into the plaster wall without anchors. 3 months later, I was going into one of the cabinets for a snack and saw a bug trying to fly free from the cabinet seam that is apparently still sticky. That should not have been an issue to discover, whether it remains that way or if simply needed to be wiped. I am beyond frustrated, and regret choosing Mad City. Based on my experience I would never recommend it. read more

Do not purchase your windows from Mad City. Their prices are extremely high to con you into spending a lot of money. Their showing is completely too long and you will be so fatigued that you don't even notice that they say one thing and write down another on their contract. They will sell you triple pane windows but your replacements will be double. I don't want anyone to go through what I'm experiencing. Make sure you ask plenty of questions. Buyer beware. Have been fighting with them since October of 2020 to get proper permits from the city. In their contract we signed it stated they would get all proper permits. When they came to do the work they stated permits were done, but they left them at the office. If I hadn't called the city and checked I would not have know no permits where issued. We signed contract in October with the promise the work would be done by end of November or early December. They didn't start until mid January. Work seems ok but without approval of city inspection I do not know if it was done properly. Anyone who had work done by them should check with your city inspection department to see if proper permits were issued. It's going on 6 months and we are still fighting with them to fulfill their obligations. Maybe it's time for a lawyer. read more
