Yesterday, I visited Macy's while looking for a gift for a friend. I specifically stopped in to purchase a Ralph Lauren shirt, as it's a reliable, quality option I've come to expect your store to carry. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any Ralph Lauren merchandise. The store had been rearranged, and the area where those items were previously located now contained suits and other inventory. While I do appreciate the suit selection, the overall reorganization made it difficult to locate what I came in for. When I asked a cashier in the men's department, I was informed that all Polo Ralph Lauren items had been removed from this location. This was extremely disappointing and, frankly, confusing. Ralph Lauren is a well-known and trusted brand, and removing it from this store feels like a step in the wrong direction. Locations in nearby cities such as Fresno and Bakersfield continue to carry these products, which makes the inconsistency even more frustrating. Customers should not have to drive long distances to find items that were once readily available at their local store. I enjoy shopping at Macy's and would like to continue supporting this location. However, decisions like this make it difficult to do so. I strongly encourage your merchandising team to reconsider the removal of Ralph Lauren products and to better align inventory across locations to meet customer expectations. This is why more consumers shop online rather than inside the brick and mortar, we can only find what we are looking for online! read more

Went shopping on Black Friday ...got to say the lady at the women's check out (Judy) went out of her way to review our merchandise after we had the alarm went off...then she noticed on our receipt that we didn't get the large tote bag with our purchase of $100 or more. Wow she made our day...I will always remember her as she has such a great customer service I hope Macy's appreciate people like this cause that makes them different than Amazon. It was time to buy a black suit for the funeral of my mother, so I headed over to Macy's because they happened to be having their VIP sale. I rarely shop at Macy's and find them quite messy, especially on the weekends. This particular day happened to be a Saturday morning and the store was spotless. They had a great selection and the service was exceptional. The sales associate worked with me on sizes and how to take advantage of the ongoing promotions. I was very pleased and have since been back for some other articles of clothing. I'm very glad to have Macy's back on my radar. read more

Today was 4.25 stars. Don't get me wrong I love this store, but today they were off their game. Possibly short staffed on a Friday sales weekend, maybe? I spent 2.5hrs in this store & I could not find anyone to assist in the dressing room. I mean there was not a rack to put your undesired clothes. The sweet lady (customer) who helped me with my zipper, we just put her clothes on any rack so she could assist me. Me? I always clear my room & take back my clothes. Idk but that's just me. Second fitting- I could not tell if dressing rooms were empty because people just left their try-ons in the dressing room. I hung my clothes over the dividers &' door because both hooks were full of orange/bohemian type dresses. I had to take back all those dresses to the 'Done' rack just so I could hang my try-on possibilities. So to the entitled shopper 'You're Welcome'. Now to Find a cashier. I cannot find anyone & other associates are tending to other shoppers. It was my understanding from my previous shopping experiences at Macys that I can pay for my items at any register so I went to a non-clothing one because all these clothes were getting heavy walking around to find anyone at a cashier. I get it, she seemed annoyed, because she said, 'Well I don't have any bags.' but the last time I looked at rings the other sales associate said I could pay for everything at one register & even so in cosmetics. I told her that's ok, let's just ring this up I have plenty of Marshall bags in my trunk that I could run & get to use. So as we were scanning items, some tags were not clear & she said this is part of a 2-piece & it's not scanning so I can't ring you up on that. I assured her I found it with all the sheer like shoulder/arm shawls-cover/ups but she said IDK I don't do clothing that's not my department. Ok so this time I sympathized with her, I get it you want me to just go to another register while you call someone to me because you seem annoyed. I get it, I just come here & plop a bunch of clothing on the glass counter and ask about the sale going on the the FRIEND promo code. Again, I'm sorry. My bad--next time I'll go to shoes to get rung up. It's not her fault, I totally blame corporate, I love Visalia Macys & I want it to remain open. I just think if they're going to advertise a Sale maybe staff extra for that sale. Dare I say self-check out via the app? Idk just a thought. So after $300+ dollars I take that cover up go back to where I found it & flag down a gentleman who could assist. Yah, he found it odd too. It had a 50% off sticker but a price could NOT be determined. So this gentleman went to the manager & said a barcode could be created for the Original price. Great that's what I want to know The Original price. So he directed me to Get in line to speak with Ariel. Ok after several clickity-clacks on the register it was determined that the other piece of this two piece could not be found & this cover would be 50% of $100. Nah, I'll just go to the Fabric store & find a piece of fabric for less that would coordinate with the Guess dress I just bought. The point is, Macys needs to up their sticker price tag game. I wasn't trying to find Gold, just a bargain & that was no bargain for that orphaned item. Thanks but no thanks Macys. Please hire more staff to be on the floor, it's starting to be a mess & I want this Macys to stay open. read more

The Clinique counter is amazing! Jennifer from this counter is always bubbly and friendly. She remembers all the regulars. I ordered a queen mattress and a full mattress, box springs, and frames for both from Macy's. Everything showed up, except the queen frame. The delivery folks called and I was told they would call me back. No one called. I called the next day to customer service and nothing was done. They said they would call within 24 to 48 hours, but no one did. I called again third time. They said that they would get in touch with me 24 to 48 hours. I still do not have the queen frame nor has anyone contacted me. I alternately had to call and just request a refund for the frame because apparently Macy's can't get it done. read more

Went to the lingerie department to help my mother-in-law get a bra. There was a lot of debris around the checkout which is on the way to the dressing room. I hadn't been to Macy's in years and I ordered a two Dresses on line and had to return one so I went to the Visalia Macy's. The Clerk that assisted me was very Professional. The item was returned with no problems. I then went to the show department, heard over the PA System about opening a Charge Account and you would receive an added discount. I applied and received my additional discount. Then I went to the Jewelry Department and received assistance from a associate named Elsa and she was so Professional and Helpful. She assisted me in finding earrings, bracelet and a watch to complete my attire for my Granddaughter's Wedding. She never made me feel like I was taking to much of her time, she answered every question I asked, sized the watch I purchased. I felt she went above and beyond assisting me and making me feel that I was an important customer. Because of my experience yesterday, going back to Visalia Macy's, after not being in a Macy's in years, it will be worth traveling 40 miles round trip to go to back to Macy's in Visalia, and receive such great service. Every employee that assisted me is truly a keeper and I feel Elsa was amazing. My husband was with me and he stated also what a great employee Elsa is and an Asset to the Company. Unfortunately the customer service at this Macy's location is very very poor. Their system for returns and online pick up needs to be re evaluated. I wanted in the customer service line to return 2 cosmetic items for 30 minutes before i got up to the counter to be helped. When i pulled my items out for return the associate said "we don't take cosmetic returns here" baffled that she didn't follow that with where to make this return being that she worked there, i said "ok...so where do you?" She replied with "in cosmetics over there. Can i help who's next?" and pointed in a general direction while literally dismissing me. They should be clear on a specific area for returns before they have people wait in line for no reason only to be rudely dismissed by a store associate who is supposed to at least treat customers with some respect. Please work on your employees customer service skills, Macy's. read more

The customer service was absolutely horrible !!! To start I was looking for a nice dress for a funeral , the dresses I purchased was thrown in the bag not in a hanging plastic bag !! I took the one dress to the funeral home and they left the security tags on all my purchases , so I had to drive 45 minutes to just get them removed then go back to funeral home to drop them off . They obviously don't believe in being polite to customers. We walked 20 feet into the store at 7 pm on a Sunday night. The sign on the door said they close at 8 pm Sundays, but apparently not. The employee closing up was very rude and yelled at us from across the store that they were closed in a very rude, not caring way. She did the same to another customer in the store as we were leaving. She also did not reply when I said the hours posted on their door were not in line with what she was saying. A response like, "Yes, thank you for notifying me; I will notify the manager. My apologies for the confusion," or something along those lines would have been nice. read more

Macy's isn't a place that interests me at all (even though I had family within the company). I never even went inside until about a year ago when my boyfriend was trying to find a good dress shirt. It looked really nice inside and it's such a massive store, it made me think that I'd like to go there more often... until my boyfriend went to try something on. I was standing around by the mens ties, texting and waiting for him when a female employee asked if I needed help. I said "oh no thank you. I'm just waiting for my boyfriend in the dressing room, I don't need any new clothes." She then looked me up and down, made a face, and said "looks to me like you do." She caught me off guard, and when I saw that she wasn't joking, I just stood there awkwardly while she smirked at me. When we checked out, they nagged us about getting a Macy's card for ten solid minutes before they actually scanned the item. Then they overcharged us. Rocky at the Benefit counter is amazing! She helped me the day after Christmas (which was super busy) and explained some of the products I received for Christmas.
