Shopping at Macy's in the Altamonte Springs Mall today with a friend was lots of fun. We were looking at the cosmetics counter for Clinique and the handbag area with Coach bags. The selection was great. The service was very good and helpful. The merchandise was marked down on sale for the holiday season. We also ventured out to the concourse to see what was available out there. We spotted Build a Bear, Destiny Trade, and Hickory Farm gift packages. Most importantly we saw Santa Claus and his Memory Grove to tell Santa your holiday wishes and for photo opportunities. Great time. read more

Yay for Macy's still surviving in the mall. All the employees were fantastic and eager to help. They had many different items to choose from and sizes, colors, and options galore. Now, if we want to talk about a secret. If you go upstairs to "Macy's Backstage" this is an area of alllll their items on clearance. Be prepared to dig through the racks but boy oh boy did I find some phenomenal high end brands for cheap cheap! This rivals going to other discount stores that don't carry designer labels. If you've never been backstage, you have got to go! The prices are crazy good! read more

My favorite perfume rollerball was running super low during Christmas, so I started looking around for great specials, and I scored. Wanted to get another rollerball, but you're paying $31 for only half of an ounce, so I decided to get another full bottle. Looking throughout different websites (Ulta, Lancome, Sephora) when I took a quick look on Macy's website and found the best price. For $128 (then add on $8 in taxes), I was able to get the refillable 5 fl oz/150ml sized bottle of La vie est Belle l'eau de parfum, which the refill for goes around $90, I am in love. This special also came with a lovely gift of six little makeup items and a pretty makeup bag for future use. This size of parfum usually goes for $168. Even the 3.4 oz one can be $144, so this price was wonderful. I decided to do an in-store pickup because, though I have never had a porch steal happen, one never knows, and this package was too pricey. The email with the instructions on where to pick up at the Altamonte Springs Mall was easy to follow. Walked in and showed my ID a good five minutes later, I was heading home with my purchase. read more

I'm not sure what they're trying to do at this location, but it doesn't seem like they actively want people to shop here? First, the temperature in the store is roughly 112? I'm guessing? Judging by how much sweat I had dripping off me by the time I was done shopping. Second, you go in the store and take the escalator up...ok, good...shop shop shop...Down Escalator is closed. Well...how do I get back down? Elevator...that is in one hidden way out of the way corner AND it takes forever. Then when you find a checkout station with staff, there will be a line. Four or so people in line, in the heat, after needlessly running around the entire floor plan of the store. And there will be another person behind the counter totally ignoring the growing line. Plus, when you finally get to be checked out; there will be roughly 43 steps the poor cashier has to go through before a receipt is printed. Macy's...I realize malls are dying, but when you have stores that don't even try to be customer friendly, what do you expect? read more

Inside of the Altamonte Mall, this location has the usual finds for the chain PLUS a discount / mark down section on the second floor. You'll find some good deals here on pretty much any type of merch. I like to shop the baby section and look for yellow tags ending in a seven, this means it's a final markdown price, so pretty much the best deal you're gonna get on that item. The remainder of the store is the usual chain merch and pricing. We most recently went here to grab matching holiday family pajamas. We used them for a holiday photo shoot we were doing for our holiday photo cards. They were regular price since it's still really early in the season, but it wasn't too bad a deal for three outfits. Staff is friendly and always says welcome and hi when you walk by them. I like their seasonal merchandise and their kitchen area. A lot of times you can find good brand names on a decent sale. Overall: A Good location with some great price finds if you look around. Check out the clearance / markdown section on the second floor. read more

This review is strictly for an online order that was picked up on the new curbside service. They have had some great deals lately. I recently ordered an 8pc queen bed set that was on sale for $34.99. The product was exactly described and looks expensive although it wasn't. I arrived in the early afternoon after I got the text my order was ready to be picked up. It took a bit for someone to come out and bring it to me. The text process confirmed they had noted my arrival and I was just about to call the store to make sure when someone finally came out with it. It is an easy process but be prepared to wait if you choose to pick it up curbside. read more

Five Stars to Nahid at the Michael Kors section. Wow, she went above and beyond to make my dream come true. I Found a lace gorgeous Free People's dress..but it wasn't on sale. However online it was almost a thirty dollar discount. She did not give up on me like her other colleague. She called into mgmt, searched herself online and was able to honor the cheaper price. I'm in heaven! !!! I GOT MY DRESS!!! Dawn on the other hand not only interrupted my conversation with Nahid, but gave us both a major nasty attitude saying Nahid was giving me something I couldn't have. She tried to undermine Nahid in front of me..and walked away upset.As if I'm bothering her because I got a deal? Macys, what's not to like? Well not on Macy's at all, but I was the night's driver, stand in bag holder, and pocket-book. Joy to the world... Well their entrance is not lit up worth a damn. This whole area is on the dark side actually, but since Macys signage is 100 feet from the entrance, it suffers at dark. Even the cross walk from the parking to the entrance is dark. The place is a typically awesomey-stocked and plenty lit up on the sales floors. If you want to: "see it, touch it, and bag it", this is your place. It's Xmas weekend so the place is a zoo. Didn't find the cape we were looking for tho. read more

This particular location in the Altamonte Mall use to be a Burdines witch no longer can be found here. Macy's in the other hand offers your usual just like Sears,JC Penney and others, you can come here and find clothe,shoes,perfumes etc.. I came here because the had an add on the news paper about watches on sale for $30 bucks and they looked very nice, i wen there to look at them and they were every penny. The people there were very friendly and greeted me as soon as they saw me and asked if i needed help and even one employee asked me what department i was looking for as i was looking at there map with the different departments. Located in the Altamonte Mall making it very convenient to walk to other stores or around the mall before/after you are done shopping here. Four stars had a good shopping experience and found what i wanted for a good deal also i saw a lot of good deals on other items. Will definitely come back to buy more here. read more

I decided to buy that perfume on Macy's exactly because I couldn't suppose that would happens. But happened... After contacting them I sent pictures of the false perfume, and they proposed to change the perfume, but I live on Brazil and was in Florida for vacations and don't have any travel scheduled to USA in the near future. This said I believed is was easier for Macy's to send me a new bottle. In the same delivering/pick up process I could supply the false bottle for their evaluations. My now husband bought a ring from Macys jewelry store last year to propose to me. While wearing the ring literally a month in a Diamond chip fell out. We took it back to the store and made sure to get insurance on it, They sent it out to get fixed and it took a month for them to fix it. I got it back near my wedding day. On my honeymoon only a few weeks later I realized that once again a Diamond chip was missing. I called to see if I could speak with a manager because why is this happening again. I was very polite but no one would allow me to speak with one. I then took the ring back up to the store and the sales associate said that there was nothing she could do besides sending it back to the jewelry place that fixes the store's jewelry and then said if it happens for a third time and it probably will that she will then speak with the manager to see if they can exchange it. A month later I still don't have my ring back from the dpt that fixes the ring. read more

If you aren't at Millenia or FL mall, you should check this Macy's out. It's not the biggest or the best Macy's in the Orlando Area, but it's a good, solid, 3rd place for selection and size. Sale items are usually in stock, staff is always very nice and helpful, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars and not 3 stars. I think I like the staff at this location the best out of Orlando, they always go above and beyond to help you find something or provide great service. I've bought everything from towels, to clothes, to makeup, to a Dyson vacuum at this location. In the case of the Dyson, they didn't have one boxed in the store, so it shipped for free to my house. It was on mega sale and the sales associate really did everything possible to make sure I got the best price and the model I wanted. As with all Macy's, if you have their credit card, you are privy to special deals and coupons. It's been worth it for us (in savings) to have the store credit card. read more

If you're shopping for affordable, contemporary clothing, I'm a fan! I'm a bargain shopper, too, like some of the other posters and they do have good sales on clothing. They have a petites section, too, which is becoming harder to find. The jewelry department will also have periodic sales. Worth paying attention to. The selection here is not nearly as extensive as The Mall at Millenia store, but on the other hand, I like the intimacy of this store. Not as overwhelming and very easy to park and get in and out of. I've always found the sales staff to be friendly, too. Hint: Sign up for Macy's texts and you'll the same promos they put in the paper and send in the mail/email on your phone -- handy to show them at check out without having to remember to bring a printed coupon. read more

Ok, it's a Macy's & Macy's are great, BUT...the day after Christmas, they should have extra help because I waited over 20 minutes for a pair of shoes to try on & then I had to wait almost 30 just to pay for them! In the shoe department they only had two women working & it was utter chaos. The upside was definitely the shoes I bought which were originally $79.99 then marked down to $39.99 but when I FINALLY got to the register, I payed $29.99!! Score!!! The salespeople all over the store who I encountered were not the friendliest but I'd probably be bitter as hell after the long hours & annoying people during the holiday season; however, if they had it staffed properly, maybe it wouldn't have been such a hassle for them or us, the customer. The women's department was tiny compared to other Macy's but I noticed the men's department was quite lovely & laid out very nicely & quite clean & orderly looking. It's so much easier to be a man in this world I guess!!! When I visit FL to see my parents, I'll come to Macy's again but definitely not my go to store here. read more

I now know why Macy's are closing all around the country, including the one in Oviedo. I've been to this Macy's before to buy some bras. Didn't have an issue then. I went back today for the same reason. This time, the intimates section was a complete joke. One rack with bras that weren't sorted in any way. Not by size, brand, nothing. One rack of panties, again not sorted in any way. It was a complete sh*t show! And no one around to ask for help. It seems like if you're there for the special cosmetic counters, you'll fair well. Went to Macy's last night to purchase a mattress. Time was 8 pm and they were open until 10 pm. Asked a nearby clerk if anyone could assist us. Unbelievably, she flatly said. "No." That person went home for the night. So...we asked if anyone could make the sale and she said no...as she was ringing up customers from a nearby department. Not even an attempt to call a manager. We left and will make the purchase elsewhere. Funny...they lost a $2,000.00 purchase just like that. Shopping is my addiction and this is the Macy's that I come to most often. To me it does not have the variety in clothes or shoes that other Macy's do. Maybe I was just spoiled to my Macy's in Miami. I'm a bargain shopper and you can find some great deals here. For some reason this Macy's has better discounts/sales on shoes then others I go to. The clothes here never really appeal to me. Customer service is great here, never had any issues. Keep an eye out for coupons for 15%-30% off in the paper and magazines. Never go shopping with out them! read more

Everything about this store is awful. It is dirty, messy and the associates are beyond RUDE. I tried to pick up an order I purchased online, in an attempt to save time, but after 2 1/2 hours it was still not ready. The associate told me to go find it myself after I had already paid for it!!! She was on her phone texting and complaining to another associate about their manager and "how dumb he is" as I asked her three times to please just help me get my item...I already paid for it. Thanks to corporate mandate the store is so poorly staffed anymore that even if you do find a clerk, they are not able to help you in the department you're wanting help to find something OR you have to wait until they are finished waiting on another customer in another department. I would hate to see the Altamonte Mall location close but if this sort of non-customer service keeps up in the store, I will be forced to join the masses and shop on-line. However the mac counter as always was amazing, super helpful staff, and take their time to answer my 500 questions about prices, colors and sets. Great prices and nice selection. I am so disappointed with this Macy's. I went to the women's lingerie department looking to be measured for a new bra and I had to search for someone to help me. The first person told me that she does not measure for bras and that she would tell another lady to help me. I waited for ten minutes and then I had to search for another person. The person at the counter told me that she doesn't measure for bras either and that the two other girls who take measurements are on a lunch break and would be back soon. like a fool, I waited. I waited and waited. I asked the lady at the counter when the girls would be back so she called one of them. The girl texted her back, saying that she was to a doctor's appointment. Way to go Macy's.
