I have switched trainers where I live in CA and wanted a gym that would make it easy to do more…read morefloor stretching and more work with free weights. I did some research on the gyms near my sister's home in Naples. Addicted to fitness seemed like the best bet but was concerned if it had enough of the equipment I needed based on reading the website. For a change it was the website underselling just how good this place really is. Image you were a billionaire and had your own gym for you and your friends to use. What would I expect? That it wouldn't be a massive set of treadmills it wouldn't be a pocket gym with no manager just a card. The place would have been decorated not feel like a basement. The staff would welcome you by name. There'd be free wi-fi access to water and coffee and men and woman's bathrooms with showers. The machines would be new and in pristine shape. Owners Jon and Michelle were welcoming and actually took the time to show me which machines I'd need to do each part of my routine. Normally YOYO unless you have a trainer. But yes they have those too. Paraphrasing Ms Riding hood not too big not too small just right. And did I mention the free wifi and being called by name?

Bonita location: I went into the gym this morning and…read morescanned my keychain membership card as usual, but for some reason it wouldn't go through. A man working at the front desk asked me to try the other scanner and explained that they were "having problems with the system" and that I wasn't the only person having an issue. When it still didn't work, he manually entered my phone number and told me to stop by the front desk on my way out so someone could issue me a new card. No big deal. On my way out, I stopped at the desk as instructed. As a blonde employee approached, the man I had spoken with earlier told her, "She's having the same problem with her card." She didn't acknowledge me or ask what had happened--she simply responded that it would be $5 for a new card. I explained that I would not be paying for a replacement because I still had my original card, which I showed her, and I had already been told that the gym was experiencing issues with its system. Her response was to roll her eyes and let out an annoyed sigh. I called out the unnecessary attitude, at which point she responded, "Fine, I'll just give you one." The $5 is completely beside the point. I wouldn't care if the replacement cost 50 cents or $100. Why should a customer be charged to replace a perfectly intact membership card when an employee had already acknowledged that the gym's system was malfunctioning? If I had lost or damaged my card, I would absolutely understand paying a replacement fee. That was not the case here. What bothered me far more than the fee was the dismissive and unprofessional way the situation was handled. Based on other reviews, this employee is allegedly the owner's daughter. I obviously cannot verify that, but if it is true, allowing her to treat customers this way is doing both her and the business a huge disservice. I canceled my membership. A minor technical issue that should have taken 30 seconds to resolve turned into losing a customer simply because of how I was treated.

She also got to know my medical condition and always keeps it front and center as she's developing new workout routines for me. Prior to working with Angela I had always taken gym classes and actually resisted working with a personal trainer - I felt I needed the energy of a group class to keep me motivated. Well, working with Angela really opened my eyes to a more effective way to work out! Having a trainer focused on my particular goals and taking into account my personal capabilities has really made a difference for me. Since working with Angela I have lost weight but more importantly have really developed muscle strength - so important as we age. I was never able to achieve this level of muscle strength merely participating in group fitness classes at the gym. Angela is extremely knowledgeable about training and I have complete confidence in her ability to help me continue to reach my fitness goals. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to take their commitment to fitness and health to the next level.
