It was not crowded and while a gathering of staff stood around talking with each other, the tables went unattended. Water without ice, no refills, I had to get out of my seat several times to ask for something. The lobster bisque was literally burnt and when I told the staff to please let the kitchen know, nothing happened. No one checked on us after the meal was served. No one asked for a drink refill, cleared dirty dishes, my husband had to get up to ask for a soda. All this occurred while the staff stood around doing seemingly nothing. We were shocked. If I wanted to go to a restaurant chain, I'd expect this type of service but not at, The Port Royal Club. The staff have obviously not been properly trained in fine dining.

We started coming last year (2013) with a couple of friends as guests. By fall of 2014, we were signing membership papers. It turns the painful, teeth grinding experience of going to the beach with kids into a pleasant experience. We went to the beach 4 times in all of 2013 and before the membership, and now go almost every week! While we're probably not the most common members (30 somethings with 2 kids under 3), we still see lots of kids there, and they have fun activities for kids planned throughout the season. The staff are super friendly and attentive to every aspect of your visit. Most of them attend college nearby. They really make the membership worthwhile. While we haven't made it to the formal dining room yet, we eat almost every visit at the Turtle's Nest casual dining area. The food is wonderful and it's all right next to the beach! There are events all season long to bring your family to, and when we have guests in from out of the area, we bring them down to the beach.
