Not sure how to describe the vibe- clean modern feel with a touch of cozy here and there - like the sofa when u first walk in. Pros: Cool sofa for waiting on a table or maybe cocktails? Krista was our server and she was delightful. Friendly and helpful - let us know her favorites and got our order in quickly since we couldn't take too long. Nice cocktail selection and even better range for apps and mains. Loved the ahi tuna flatbread!! Our favorite of the apps. Could have ordered for dinner and left very happy since it cost less too lol. Seared scallops were delicious- the sauce and fresh corn were amazing. Shrimp and grits had an impressive depth of flavor and the spinach and tomatoes were a unique addition. The black bass was also very good. Cons Prices on the higher side even for a fancy restaurant in Richmond. Didn't love the complimentary bread and butter: I appreciated trying to make the butter something unique- going for savory and sweet the white chocolate and herbs but the white chocolate didn't really work for us as an ingredient. Felt like the bread should've been crusty for butter like this and not the soft rolls they served. Didn't care for the pork belly appetizer. Instead of being crispy, it was just tough.

We RAVED about the food to our super kind waitress, and she let us know they now have a new manager. I even ate all the skin on my baked potato. My buddy, Josh, kept bragging about the brocolli, too. The food was absolutely made with love. Hampton Longhorn, ya'll are TOP DOG!! The restaurant itself was perfect and just the right amount of lighting. I came here this afternoon at 12:30 pm with a guest and my 3 month old infant in a stroller. I was…read moretold by the hostess that the stroller counted as a third person and I would need a table to accommodate 3 people which would be a 2 hour wait. I was told that if I were to leave the stroller in the car and hold/carry her, it would be a 50 minute wait for "two." I opted to go online and make a "reservation" for two and I would put the stroller in the car and hold my daughter for a reservation time of 1:00 pm (only a 30 minute wait). Why do I need to go online while standing in the restaurant to make a quicker "reservation" when I'm standing right in front of the hostess? When checking in for the 1:00 pm reservation, the hostess asked if I was going to hold my daughter or if I wanted a high chair for her. This made no sense as the entire point of me holding her was because I needed a "table for 2." If I was going to be offered a high chair for a baby that can't even sit up yet, I should've been able to keep her asleep in the stroller and still been a table for 2. How is a high chair at that point not considered a third? Her stroller wouldn't have taken up any more room. The whole experience was absurd, made absolutely no sense and was off putting. There has to be better processes in place. Adding that it is 96 degrees outside, so going back and forth with an infant was absolutely ridiculous.

This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

It's a small, quaint space that gives you that perfect blend of cozy neighborhood vibes with an upscale, refined feel. The food was absolutely outstanding--every dish had unique, well-balanced flavors that clearly showcased the talent of the chef. You can truly tell that a lot of care and creativity goes into the menu. The service made the experience even better. The bartenders were fantastic (James especially stood out!), and the waitstaff were incredibly personable, attentive, and welcoming. Circa 1918 is one of those rare places that feels both like a hidden neighborhood gem and a fine dining experience all in one. We will definitely be back!

Another Yelp Reviewer's suggestion for the win!…read more I happened to be in the area today, and after my first stops, I needed something to eat. Again, thanks to other Yelpers, I found this place. I'm so glad we found it. This place does have a small private parking lot, which is a good thing for the area. The interior was nice, large, and seemed very clean. Plenty of seats inside and a few tables outside. The fella who served us was very nice, pleasant, and took care of us. Now let's get to our meals: Holy mud were they good. The wifey had The Jim Boy. Which is a couple of eggs, a couple of sides, potatoes, and toast. She tells me the whole meal was very good with the potatoes being the flavorful standout. As for me, I had The Lumberjack. Wow was it good. It was smashbrowns topped with 3 eggs your way, fried chicken breast, sausage gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. Their website pictures were different from how it was presented to me today (not that it means a thing). Again what a wonderful flavor. The biscuits were great and the sausage gravy was fantastic! I will say this it is a very filling meal - you will not be hungry after eating this. So with all this said, I highly recommend this place and I'm sure I will be back. I might even try to hit it for lunch next time. So if you're looking for a place - go ahead and enjoy this place.

The waiting time for a booth was short and we were greeted quickly upon entering. It is a quieter restaurant with comfortable seating. I checked Yelp before ordering for favor filled options in the reviews. We both ordered rib combos with the broccoli and cheese casserole, and a side salad. The ribs were meaty and seasoned well. Very tender and almost fell off of the bone. The broccoli cheese casserole was amazing! It was full of flavor and cheese l, perfection. The side salad was extremely fresh, tasty, and it was large. The salad was so fresh, we ate it before our yummy ribs and ended up too full to finish the entree. We heard a lot about the honey butter crossiants but we were not impressed and after a few bites we decided not to waste calories on them. Maybe they are usually better but not on that night. The restaurant decor is interesting, kind of a cross between Longhorn Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse, nothing stood out but it was clean and tidy. I would make the drive again for the great food. I would have given it 5 stars but the service was just okay, the decor was blah, and the presentation of the food was a little better than fast food.
