I have tried other meal prep services before and I have to say, Macrobox Meals is for sure my favorite! My boyfriend and I went in thinking to ourselves, "we'll just try it for a few weeks", and we we've had our meals weekly from here for the past few months! We love it! We used to order from Freshly before and there really is no comparison. These meals taste home-cooked, while Freshly truly tasted like freezer meals. I also love the way I feel when I eat the food. The food feels fresh and wholesome in my body! I will say that the meals vary in size. We opted for the low carbohydrate 4 oz meal plan option so naturally, the meals are rather light. Some meals are a bit on the smaller side and I get hungry again in 90 minutes or so while some meals are larger and I am unable to eat it in one sitting. I do think some of the meals are lacking in salt/seasoning, but I just shake a little bit of "Everything but the Bagel Seasoning" from Trader Joe's and it does the job! The meals I enjoy most are the meals that include a sauce or meals with flavors that I know I enjoy. I do find that the meals that are simply a protein (ex: chicken) and a side of vegetables with no sauce are almost always dry. Overall, I highly recommend this service! There is such a variety in the foods week to week and day to day. The food is well cooked and tastes of quality. I have been eyeing this meal prep service for over a year. I went the HelloFresh route instead but grew tired of cooking. I found this place again and had to try it since it's the only meal prep service that actually looked good! I purchased a week of breakfast, dinner, and snacks. When I went to pick up on Sun, I had a question about the next week's meals and tried to ask the girl who was fulfilling the pickup orders. She blew me off and said she didn't know, she just passes out pickup meals. I shrugged it off, she seemed young, and I drove home, figuring I'll just call tomorrow to ask. On Monday morning, I opened a snack container and saw mold on the fruit. I was annoyed but just proceeded to get a different snack box (same contents). In this one, everything had an odd sour taste. I couldn't finish eating it and figured I wouldn't even try the 3rd container and threw them all away. I reached out and spoke to whom I imagine is the owner. When I told her of the mold, she had this "okay, and?" type of response vs an "OMG, I'm so sorry!" type of response. I asked what they do in situations like this and she said I could get a refund or if I got a credit to my account, I would get more back. Against my better judgement, I chose the credit, thinking I'll give them another shot. She sounded hesitant to refund me and asked to email pictures first, then they would process the credit, so I did. On Wednesday I went to eat my breakfast meal and low and behold, MORE mold!! I reached out again via email and asked this time for a refund. A week goes by and nothing. I reached out again and asked when I should be seeing my refund. I guess they forgot because they pushed a refund of $17 to my card that day. I spent $110.50 for 10 meals, 5 snacks and got $17 back for the 4 inedible items - doesn't seem like that great of a deal to me (should've been closer to $30) but at least I got some money back. As far as the rest of the food goes, it wasn't good. The concepts are good but poorly executed. It's almost impossible to eat tacos for meal prep because the shells become soggy and brittle. Or a taco salad - the fat from the meat is congealed when cold but I can't heat it because of the lettuce. Out of the 15 meals, 1 dinner was good, the bagel breakfast was phenomenal (add Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel seasoning!), and the other quiche that didn't have mold was good. Finally a mealprep company that actually tastes good I have tried other companies in the area for mealprep before and although they are healthy, they were just not edible on my terms. I am so glad I found Macrobox because of many reasons. I love that they change their menu weekly so I am always excited for whats new and I do not get sick of the same items. I also like that all their ingredients are always fresh. And the biggest reason why I love Macrobox is that it is actually tasty. Their food is really good and done right. So far I have tried them for a week and I love it. I've had their steak and potatoes and their fish dish. The steak was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Even the potatoes are worth mentioning because they too were seasoned right. It didn't taste dry like other companies. I recommend that dish if it is offered. I also like the way they make their fish. It's hard to find a place that makes fish well without it having the fishy smell and with good seasoning. Macrobox did it perfectly. It was delicious yet healthy. Their pricing is very affordable. It's either comparative to other meal prep companies or cheaper. They carry breakfast meals as well but I haven't had the chance to try them yet. They usually have a good amount of options for you to choose from and their website was pretty easy to use. I love that they post their nutrition facts straight onto the website so you know what you are getting out of each meal. They couldn't have made it easier for me. The staff working at Macrobox is also very nice when I encounter them. I are experienced at what they do and get me my meals in a reasonable timing. This place is 5 star food, quality and service. I started having the food delivered 3 weeks ago since everything going on with the corona virus. I was using model meals and was sick of the same kind of food with that service. This is the opposite, really amazing meals, quality and price point. Model meals was $12-15 a meal and these meals are less then $10 a meal. It's different meals everyday and they are all great. I have not had one meal I didn't like. My kids and husband like them too. I got the 15 meal plan every week. It comes with breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a snack. One of the main reasons I am writing this review is the service. I had my meals delivered this morning and usually it comes with 4 snacks. It came with 2 today and I texted them. Right away they responded and said they would bring me the snacks. I told them it was not a big deal and next order to add the 2 missing. She insisted and even brought me extra. That is 5 star treatment. With everything going on with the corona virus to get this treatment is above and beyond. It really was not a big deal since it was snacks and not the meal. But they made it right within hours and I am Irivne and the company is in Santa Ana. I felt bad but she insisted. This is definitely my go to meal delivery place. read more

Last week I ordered two 10 meal plans without snacks for my boyfriend and I as we are in the mist of finals week and we simply do not have time to grocery shop or cook. l loved that could order different amounts of proteins and carbs because I am a petite girl and my boyfriend is a 200 lbs giant so obviously we cannot eat the same way, and at $117 for 6 oz protein low carb and $130 for 8oz protein and regular carbs it was a pretty good price considering eating out usually costs us $30++ a meal for both. I was expecting 5 of the same meal for lunch and 5 of the same meal for dinner for each of us but I was pleasantly surprised that there were actual 5 different meals, and we only had to eat the same thing twice in the 5 days. We had meatloaf with mashed potatoes, grilled chicken tacos, Japanese white fish, turkey pasta primavera, and French chicken ragout. Started Macrobox a few weeks back and so far it's been awesome. I order meals for myself and my husband (we are trying to lose weight for the summer and I just had a baby) and for my daughter who plays a lot of soccer and needs a good clean diet to keep her strong. I love that you can choose the protein size of your meal so that my husband can get more and I can get a little less. Most other meal prep companies don't offer the different size options so this was great. Another big factor is that you don't get the same meal over and over so you don't get bored. I feel terrible for waiting so long to write this review, but better late than never right? I started fire academy in November and knew I would have hardly any time to cook, and I didn't want to resort to eating fast food for most of my meals. I knew the academy would be physically and mentally demanding and knew that eating a healthy, well-cooked meal would help a lot. Macrobox was amazing! Not only are the meals home made and healthy, but they deliver! I'd receive my meals on Sunday and have lunch and dinner for the entire week. I'm a pretty big guy and we were burning a TON of calories, so I opted in for the snacks as well. Not a day went by where I felt like I didn't get enough food. I was full and felt comforted by the fact that I didn't eat junk food. I love that the menu changes weekly so I never got sick of the same meals. I ended up losing over 20 pounds in a 4 month period. I normally love fish however the texture and taste of the white fish is disgusting. I try to eat it but it ends up in the trash. I just started with Macrobox Meals and wow, loving it. I have Type 1 Diabetes and this makes my management so much easier. Wish I would have found this sooner! Everything is easy with Macrobox. Delivery is easy and always accurate, heating up takes literally minutes and 1 pan, clean up is a breeze. I prefer to stove top re-heat my meals as I just personally think it tastes better. Speaking of taste, these meals are really tasty, they are perfectly portioned, I never feel overly full or still hungry when I'm done. Just so balanced and energized. I didn't get into this for the physical benefits, more for the convenience, but this could really do wonders for my body. Thankfully I'm in a good place physically, but if I was trying to move the needle and shake up my fitness and make change, i.e. lose weight, shred. I would dive into this full on and eat Macrobox exclusively. I have studied and tried all the fad diets over the years and the science and results honestly just point to this style of diet with seasonally adjusted ingredients (which Macrobox does) as the best way to stay lean and healthy. This is an absolute hit!!!! We order for the entire office for lunches for the week and it has been an absolute hit! When we first got the order we were a little hesitant because they looked small, but man does it fill you up! Some days I do not even finish the food. So far the turkey lasagna and turkey tacos have been an office hit. The fish is always a close second as well. None of the meet is dry and everything so full of flavor. Even their employees are amazing. With this being for an office we are usually in the meetings and seem to miss the pick up times but they are very accommodating and will wait for us to pick it up. These people are just the best. The food they make is delicious and the macros are well balanced. I especially love how they are different and INTERESTING foods. Normally health food is the same old chicken and rice, but they make really tasty meals like beef and broccoli, Thai chicken salad, and soy chorizo breakfast tacos. They also offer balanced snacks that are real food! I'm low key addicted to the peanut butter oat bar with Greek yogurt.... Meals are portioned so you don't over eat, which if you come from a family like mine is super helpful. The best part, though, is that these healthy, super tasty real whole foods are filling.
