If you write them one one Google, Yelp, and Facebook, they send you this chrome picture frame with your wedding photo in it. I uploaded the email. I hate businesses that solicit that crap. Our wedding photo shoot was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. Michael had us do these incredibly uncomfortable poses. At one point we refused to do some poses. His editing skills is pretty much bumping up the saturation to an unnatural level. His professionalism was also lacking. He wasn't the friendly or easiest to talk to. We had sent him poses we wanted to do and he did maybe 1/4 of them. He also violated part of our signed contract. The only good thing was that he was affordable. I wish I had spent more money and found a different photographer.

My (now) husband and I commissioned them in June of 2011 (I know, it's been a while but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve a Yelp shout-out. Especially since they haven't been reviewed yet which is pretty absurd). Finding a photographer was the second most important thing on our wedding plan list (the first being the venue). I quickly found out that this is not a service that comes cheap, and we had decided that if we had to shell out the big bucks for a collection of memories then so be it. I scoured websites, forums, magazines, top ten lists, etc. in search of a photographer that was creative, had a journalistic style and wouldn't direct us to do (too many) cheesy poses. The amazingly fantastical ones all came with a price tag of about $2,500+. My heart sank wondering where we would come up with the money to pay for such extravagant excellence. As a last ditch effort I found myself on Craigslist. The advertisements ranged from hokey "fly by night" companies, individuals and large scale outfits. Each one promised to be the best of the best, and perhaps my tastes are unlike the general customer but most of what I saw was pretty crappy. Cue heart sinking coupled with anxiety. Then I found KimThao Photography and I'm just going to put this out there -- I absolutely adore them. Yes, them; they are a wife and husband (Kim and Jimmy respectively) creative super team. After some email correspondence and some Flicker portfolio checking we were ready to set-up a meeting. I should also mention that Kim and Jimmy are by far the most reasonably priced photographers that we have come across-Period. Our package included: - Engagement Session with both photographers (no time limit) - Engagement Photos (professionally retouched sent via "WeTransfer") - Wedding Session with both photographers (also, again -- no time limit) - Wedding Photos (professionally retouched sent via "WeTransfer") - All photos to be sent within about 24 hours of the event Total Price: $500. Seriously -- 500 bones. Amazing? Yea-I know. Also, photos within (approximately) 24 hours? That's basically unheard of. What's even better is that Kim and Jimmy are incredibly charming, amiable and talented. They work really well together and they made my husband and I feel very comfortable during the Engagement shoot we did earlier in June 2011. The following evening I had an email with photos to download from Kim and Jimmy. For our wedding they started at 10a and shot with us all day until close to 11p. Within 2 days I had an email transfer of all of the choice photos that they picked out and edited and then they mailed me 4 DVD's with every single shot that they took (close to 3500). My most favorite shots are the candid ones and we got a ton of those. My understanding is that currently they charge a bit more than the price I got back in 2011 but they are still incredibly reasonable for the service and commitment that you will receive.

Will immediately understood what I meant and is in general a great communicator. It's hard sometimes when you don't have the vocabulary of a professional in the field to describe what exactly you want (witness any bad haircut you've ever had). We shot in several locations and in several lights so that I'd have options appropriate for different uses. I'm using my favorite now as my LinkedIn and Facebook profile photos. I've never gotten so many likes on a Facebook photo--ever. Everyone just howled with excitement. Will made me looks as good as I ever could, but also still like myself. He has a very easy way about him, and I think because he made me feel so comfortable, he was able to record an accurate (but completely flattering) image. I ordered three retouched images because I couldn't choose a favorite they were all so good. I'll be able to use these photos for years. Will has a terrific eye is worth every penny.
