STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. Jamal was very rude and unaccommodating when we needed to cancel our wedding due to the death of a parent. We were told that in the event of cancelation/rescheduling, ALL of our money would be used in a credit towards another date. Jamal instead, told us that he was sending half of our money back (I have not received that yet) and that the other half would not be credited towards another date. He then ignored my calls, texts, and emails asking why he was stealing the rest of our money without providing service. My wedding was June 10, 2023. I have emailed our photographer Izzy multiple times to no avail as to the status of my wedding album, as well as left several messages at the shop. No one will return my calls or emails. Almost 8 months later and no wedding album after picking out all of the photos etc. Not one single moment of video of our wedding has been produced to us despite also hiring a videographer. On the day of the wedding, our photographer Izzy was totally unprepared. She never had time to meet with us prior to our wedding, didn't know where we wanted pictures taken (all locations right in Cranford where the business is located and where our wedding took place), was frazzled and expected us to have planned every shot. Izzy did not have a single original idea of her own for a photo. It was truly frustrating saying "please get the photo" and "next please get a photo of this" rather than the HIRED PHOTOGRAPHER making sure the photos were all taken properly or having a list ahead of time of the people we wanted to have photos with. It was really bizarre and added stress to the wedding day. read more

we used JF photography for our wedding and it was the best decision. I suffer from seizures so I am unable to be around flash photography, and I was stressing about how I was going to have pictures on my wedding day! So many other photographers were stumped how they could capture my day without flash. However, JF photography said "no problem" they worked with me/Dj to make sure had bright up lighting around the room, they brought in stand alone lights and then moved them after photos. These lights never got in the way and they truly were able to capture every moment from my evening ceremony to a dark room during the reception. They were a pleasure to work with and so quick to respond to emails or calls. They are amazing individuals and created such a fun and positive environment day of. Our wedding album is beautiful and truly made me cry the first time seeing it. Best decision ever!!! read more

Jamal has such a pleasant demeanor. He really put us at ease because we were confident that he knew what he was doing. He clearly has a lot of experience at this. Plus he was reasonable when discussing costs. After having shopped around I feel I got a good deal. The people who were shooing and doing video were timely and professional and listened to what we wanted from them. Jamal did a beautiful job with our photographs for our wedding on March 19, 2016. From the start, JF photography was easy to work with and their pricing is very fair for the quality of photographs that you get. Jamal knew all of the classic wedding shots to take, knew our venue (Mayfair Farms) extremely well, and was a pleasure to work with. The photographs we took before the ceremony were beautifully posed, formal, classic, and elegant. Jamal made sure to take pictures of family during the reception and friends on the dance floor as well. The owner (Jamal) is unprofessional.  His office doesn't pick up the phone (once they have your money).  They don't return phone calls unless they need to collect an installment or final payment.  Because they don't have any phone relations, all communications must be done through email and you don't always get same day response.  This is not good when they send you edits that require more work and weren't done as asked.  This is because his graphic artists struggled with edit requests, and it took many rounds before our individual portraits came out correct. We had to refrain from edit requests to the rest of our 60 photos in our wedding album for fear it would take a year to get it right.  Going back to the individual portraits, after 5 rounds of edits on 6 photos, Jamal sent them to be printed without our sign off.  5 rounds of edits done via email as he would not call us back to discuss.  He knew that we were targeting getting these done for Christmas (we had a early November wedding).  We were clear that we wanted it done right even if that meant we couldn't hit the Christmas deadline. He decided to print them without approval.  One day, we got home and a Fed Ex package with the pics was at our door with a receipt inside (for a couple extra photos we purchased outside of our package deal.  Luckily, they were good enough.  We wrote the owner to complain about radio silence and the inability to call and discuss requested edits.  He ignored the email. He didn't shoot our wedding.  His shooter was contracted.  She was very enthusiastic with a pleasant personality and good with kids.  However, a good handful of our pics were out of focus.  We wanted a pic of both families (immediate members) together.  It was an inside pic and every shot of it was out of focus and couldn't be used.  We did speak to Jamal's office manager (Maryann) to express concern and ask if anything could be done via graphic design.  Her response was, "well, you have so many other nice photos to choose from."  Several of our outdoor pics by a fountain lake were out of focus as well. Lastly, they called us to pick up our album.  When we arrived to pick it up, it had a black smudge on the cover (a white cover).  They never bothered to inspect it prior to our arrival.  Jamal's son was working that day.  He offered a wet paper towel to clean it off and remarked, "that's why people tend to choose the black album cover." Do yourself a favor, avoid JF Photography.  The professionalism and reliability doesn't match the price.  The headaches are not worth it.  There are so many good photographers in NJ that you are better off with someone else read more

If you want institutional wedding pictures, by people who only know how to turn a camera on, this is your studio! They don't arrange to meet you before your wedding day, the photographer only took pictures of bride, Yes, that is partly our fault, but the pictures he did take were mostly without any feeling whatsoever! He also took over 150 pictures of the food! The videographer was even worse, he stayed in one place the whole day.... People's heads were often cut off! Did not capture my wedding day, was shown he miss half the wedding and kept on saying he capture it all. When we shot down every bs he was trying to sell us he had the videographer enter the room where he proceeded to insult us and blame everything on us, the venue, the staff, the photographer, the guest and so on. He kept saying I been doing this for 30 years but when we clearly pointed out he didn't do his job at our wedding his response was "it doesn't matter". We have so many wonderful photos from the day, it made it hard to choose favorites for our albums! It was very easy to work with Jamal before, during and after the wedding day. JF did our photo and video for our wedding. We had two photographers and one videographer on the day. They were professional, courteous, helpful and captured all the big moments of our day. I was hoping to walk away with a few good pictures, but we got two CDs worth! They truly outdid themselves. The video is of great quality and even has a personalized cover with one of our favorite snaps. An engagement shoot was also included which allowed us to get used to working with them. You meet at the office ahead of the engagement shoot and wedding and discuss all the details. He has plenty of sample books for you to flip through and very easy to work with. My husband and I are both into photography so this was an important vendor for us. Jamal listened to our ideas and took careful notes in advance of what we were looking for... and man, did JF deliver! I highly recommend Jamal and JF photography. read more

We had JF Photography as our photographer for our engagement shoot (Jamal), henna ceremony (Anthony), and the wedding (Jamal and one other lady for photos and Ron for video), and we were extremely happy with the experience. The turnaround time for the pictures was very quick: less than 2 weeks for the 200-250 engagement photos and one month for the combined final edits of the henna ceremony (~200 photos) and the wedding (800-900 photos). The pictures came out top-notch and very professional: not a single picture was out of focus or blurry. Working with Jamal and his team was also easy; they were very pleasant and very eagerly took a lot of pictures. We got great shots of all the pictures we wanted. It took a little bit longer to get the videos (~2 months) but Jamal was very responsive and stayed in contact with us throughout. Overall, we would definitely go to JF Photography for our future photography needs and highly recommend them. read more
