I can't stand fish, so I knew right away something was wrong. When I mentioned it to the staff, instead of fixing the mistake politely, they acted like it was my fault. This place has total surf shop vibes with a vibrant look and beach side feel. The only thing missing is sand on the floor. They're turnover rate was because of that, aka why they always seem to be hiring; if you have allergies, they don't make us change gloves every time, because its "wasteful" So cross contamination. This is our first time trying this place and we felt it was costly for the amount of food we received. What shocked me was the 50 cents charge for a small cup of water. Food was tasty but the price did not match up with the quality and quantity of food given. Service was average nothing to rave about. Ambiance was different but again not outstanding. Stopped by to grab some tacos, the young lady at the counter was somewhat helpful but I had trouble understanding the menu. I ordered tacos and corn but found out they were out of corn so I just got the tacos. It was so Crazy to me that they were charging $2 for the smallest cup of soda I've ever seen. They actually sale Margarita's but I visited during my lunch.... The service is amazing at this place. I went in the middle of the lunch rush but didn't feel rushed. The woman who took my order was great at explaining the menu and the rest of the staff was very attentive. My food came out quick. I ordered a taco salad which was amazing and a po boy taco. The po boy wasn't that great because I expected the shrimp to be fried which would've been perfect with the acidic chopped pickles and tomatoes, but it also wasn't very flavorful. I'm going to be very technical about this review. I liked this place a lot, the ladies behind the counter were very nice. Great smiles that greeted me. First, place was nice, good area, great view of the azaleas on the square in McDonough ga. FOOD: I Liked The hard taco shells were very nice, I think they fry their own. I do love hard shells. Salsa was really tasty, nice balance from spicy and acidic. Pineapple salsa was very nice sweet and savory hitting all my buds in a nice way. FOOD: Needed work I tried the steak, chicken, pork and beef tacos. Half hard shell half soft corn shell. The meat was disappointing, I feel they cooked all the meats to long. All the meat was over cooked. Making it hard and chewy. ( always cook meat aldentè, finishing it off on the grill with flavored water. Makes it juicy and adding a little more flavor won't dry out the meat) Chips should never be salted, they should come to the table unsalted letting the customer salt them to their taste. I've read the other reviews and while they're on the edge of being helpful they don't quite get there. I never give a review under three stars without giving some advice. As someone who has been in the business and who has traveled extensively to Mexico and Texas there are some fundamentals to tacos that this place needs in order to make it. First, dump the iced cream! It's a distraction to the restaurant. Second, you have to put your tortillas on the griddle or they'll fall apart - this is probably one of the biggest complaints I have. Third, put some jalapeño in your salsa and offer a tomatillo salsa along with the red - this is important because red salsa doesn't go with everything! You need to get out to some real tagueria's (I mean the kind that white people don't usually frequent). If you want a real model to your business I would suggest you call the people who own Mi Casita in Longview, TX and ask them if you can hang with them for a week! They're not fancy, they're packed all the time, have killer food, and they're prices are lower than yours. If the building is too expensive for you to be in then deal with that later - but establish your clientele first and they'll follow you to cheaper digs later! As for the comment about putting cilantro on tacos that's insane - they've clearly NEVER been to an authentic taqueria before because that's how they come! If you're the one that doesn't like cilantro it's on you to ask and then tell them no - cebolla y cilantro are standard at every taqueria on the planet! I think this place has potential and if you want help I'm more than happy to do so - no charge! People often complain but lack the skills or intellect to explain themselves clearly! I'm not that guy! The Good: The establishment is a cute & quant place in the McDonough square. The menu looks exciting and there's something for everyone. The Bad: I'll skip this part and go straight to the ugly. The Ugly: We placed our order at 12:00p and sat at a table awaiting the staff to bring our food for dine-in service. At 12:20p, we noticed 3 groups of people had come in, ordered, sat down, and received their food. Yet....we hadn't received ours. I asked the staff for an update on our order and she mentioned our ticket was up next. (How was it "next" if we ordered BEFORE the other 3 groups arrived??). By 12:45p, 2 more dine-in groups and 3 to-go orders had come in, ordered, got seated, and received their food. Still....no food for us. By now, we're ready for a refund and ready to go. After telling the staff we've been waiting for 45 minutes and watching them CONSTANTLY service others and continue to ignore us, we want a refund. At no time was an apology or explanation offered. So you leave me no choice but to state the facts and draw my own conclusion for reasoning. ALL other patrons looked to be white/Caucasian. The staff looked to be white/Caucasian. My friend and myself are black/African American. So, I guess they didn't feel like servicing black people today in this restaurant. I'm highly disappointed that I even had to write about such disgusting service/behavior related to this place because we really wanted to support the small business. But we don't and won't support poor service....especially that which appears to be racially motivated. read more

Tried this new restaurant (2nd day open) today with some co workers. Unfortunately I was not too impressed. The menu is a la cart and ends up costing a lot for lunch. A lunch special would be nice. I ordered a Shrimp Taco, Chorizo Taco, chips and salsa, and a bottled water and it was over $12.00. The tacos were small. If you don't tell them it will come with cilantro on top, which I do not like. The flavor of the tacos were ok, but nothing to write home about. The house salsa tasted weird and it was sweet with no heat. I like some heat in my salsa. There is limited seating, with only four person booths up front. We went in on Saturday just before the music concert in the square. We walked right up and ordered which tells me they were not overly busy. Our food took more time then tacos and a quesadilla really should. The shrimp quesadilla was very tasty. The chorizo taco was better than the fish taco, I would get it again. 2 tacos combo with black beans,a shrimp quesadilla, 1 soda and 1 canned beer was $27 which seemed a little pricey. Overall there is a nice atmosphere, tasty food and the staff seemed nice. If you can get your food times under control I think the price can be overlooked. read more

For someone who has eaten their fair share of tacos in my life, I was very disappointed in these tacos. I ordered three different tacos: Carne Asada, Soft Crunchy, and a Chicken. They were all very underwhelming. The meat tasted as if there was no seasoning. Steak was dry. I added sour cream to my tacos and the sour cream was drenched over the whole taco. I did enjoy the soft crunch concept but again, not much taste to the tacos. The combo came with chips and salsa, yet the chips were overcooked. I bragged to my husband how good these are, so I figured I would bring him 3 Kurt's home. I didn't want them to get soggy,so I asked to have them separated from the shells. I ordered 3 for myself.
