After a grueling day playing Sim City on my iPhone I put a horrible kink in my neck. I started my search with my insurance company. I had one single solitary choice. Jeffrey Eisman. The office is on the corner of Greenfield and Outer. Across from a school, next to an apartment building and behind a bus stop. The parking lot is tiny and always full. Inside is not much to look at either. BUT the staff is super friendly and always remembers your name. Dr. Eisman's wife is also part of the staff. Needless to say they are awesome to watch together. Dr. Eisman's office is filled with an Albert Einstein bust, a Homer Simpson x-ray, a self drawn picture of his dog, and a Keep Smilin' sign. Also, he wears Earth shoes, enjoys vegan bacon, blows glass, and he loves his job. These are a few tidbits I have gathered. Dr. Eisman informed me that my insurance company made a mistake and offered to charge me $30 a visit if I wanted to start treatment. He has a quick gentle touch and doesn't force your body to submit. He doesn't push you to book appointments, he says, "We'll be here if you need us." I never feel rushed or like I am being herded from machine to machine. I love that my only choice was Dr. Eisman. He is the perfect chiro for me.

But that doesn't make a difference to the staff in the front office. They know me by name and manage to pull out my file without checking to see who I am every time. It amazes me. Dr. Grubb is very thorough. It seems to me that he checks every vertebra in my back. He individually touches them and makes adjustments as necessary. He checks my hips and of course my neck. I never feel as if there is a place that he misses. He also knows his stuff. He will touch a part of me that is out of alignment and ask me a totally unrelated question, or so it seems to me. He knows that little things in your back make big difference elsewhere. I am constantly wowed by his knowledge. Although I know some technology is controversial in the chiropractic field, he also has some of it. One machine he puts on each part of your back and it taps it into place. But he doesn't just let the machine do the work for him, he checks you up after just the same to make sure that everything is in perfect working condition. My favorite part is at the end of my appointment when I get a buffing massage. They have large vibrating pads that they rub your back with and it is amazing. It makes me want to fall asleep. I unfortunately, however, will be searching for a new chiropractor because I feel like I was wasting my time here. I'm pregnant and was constantly expressing my concerns only to be told it was normal because of pregnancy but was not offered any alternative forms of relief. I feel like the doctor just did his five minute adjustment routine as protocol and didn't really listen to me when I expressed constant discomfort of my lower spine. The pain is to the point where I am quite nervous to go into labor. I guess I just wish he would have offered to try other methods of adjustment instead of just sticking to his routine and chalking up all my suffering to be an "unavoidable part of pregnancy." I do understand that there are some things you are going to expect with pregnancy but I didn't seek care to be told it was just how things were going to be, I seek care to find a solution to my pain. In his defense, there is a limitation to what can be done on pregnant women, but I feel like this isn't that surface level. I just didn't feel like he actually cared or was listening to what was hurting me so badly. Try the place out for yourself though, and don't let my opinion stop you from seeing them.
