I've had multiple pictures framed here, including large format. They have helpful suggestions and always do a great job. It typically takes several weeks for them to complete a job but the wait is a testament to their popularity. Most importantly, the owner, Silvana, and her assistant Robert are super-nice people and an absolute pleasure to do business with. Silvana is quite knowledgeable and will make sure your art looks its' best. If you happen to meet Robert you might ask about his movie making aspirations. He's got ideas! I usually do my own framing, buying my materials at a low-cost online source. Most of the time acrylic (instead of glass) is fine for what I am framing. However, sometimes I am framing my needlework--if it took hundreds of hours to stitch, it is certainly worth the extra money to frame. So I still buy my mats and frames online, then take it all to Bob to finish framing, using an awesome can't-see-it archival glass that he offers. Now, Bob could be pissy about me bringing in my own materials, but he has always been courteous and helpful. He also does the best job framing that I have ever seen. Occasionally, I have had him frame something from start to finish, and again, the results are top-notch. Don't waste your money getting a "discount" somewhere else; take your framing jobs to Bob. read more

Bob is great! My company recently had an event and needed a large commemorative poster framed. This was a last minute request and we asked him on a Friday morning if he could have it done within 24 hours. He welcomed the challenge! I brought the poster in that Friday morning and he actually called me about 5 hours later to say he had rushed to make it happen. GREAT customer service. On top of that, the poster looked amazing. I recently was in need of a frame. I was looking for something suitable to mount an old map of Scotland. I once lived in Santa Rosa for 32 years, driving by Mackey's, probably a thousand times. I am glad that I finally stopped and shopped. The customer service was above excellent. I showed him (I wish I knew his name) what I needed and he steered me in the right direction, explaining my options and costs. He had the framed picture ready for me in under an hour. It looked absolutely beautiful. He even charged me $20 less for paying cash, saving me the cost of tax. This is a great shop. I came in here requesting a mat cut for a frame that I bought somewhere else. He helped me quickly and even cut the mat while I waited. Bob Avanzino is the owner of the Mackey Picture Frame Company. The company has been there something like 60 years. He took the business over from his father-in-law some 20 years ago. Over the last 9 years I have taken at least a dozen prints, photographs and paintings to have framed at the Mackey Picture Frame Company. He does excellent and precise work. One: several years ago we looked everywhere for a very specific frame; found what we were looking for here and framed a very large Audubon print; turned out fantastic. Still LOVE it.
