Macia Condor is apparently rated a 4 star hotel. Not sure how old the star rating is because the hotel, while charming, doesn't measure up to 4 star hotels I've been to around the world. From outside and the lobby, the hotel looks plenty nice. But once you go up the ancient elevator to your floor, you'll notice everything being faded and worn. The furniture, beds, bathroom, heating/cooling system are all very dated -- probably vestiges from the 70s or 80s. While the hotel accommodations weren't very modern, at least they were clean.
My friend and I stayed overnight in Cordoba and chose the hotel for its proximity to the train station [about a 15 minute walk]. I actually had found this hotel randomly online through Google Maps as Macia Condor as I was searching for hotels near the train station. I was able to book a room on Orbitz with a 15% coupon, so my stay was pretty cheap ($57 for one night). So even though the hotel was more comparable to a 2 star hotel, I was still satisfied with my stay since my friend and I didn't shell a lot of money for the room. One of my biggest gripes about the room is that the air conditioning system doesn't seem to work very well -- it's not either turn ON or OFF, with no real way to adjust the coolness. Since my friend and I were visiting in the summer, the room got pretty hot.
The Macia Condor is also close by the Plaza de Isabel, which is where you can catch the C3 Bus to the Alhambra. The walk from Macia Condor to Plaza de Isabel is about 10-15 minutes by foot along Gran Via (a great stroll with beautiful buildings, which is surprisingly temperature cool, even in the summer). And from Plaza de Isabel, it's about a 15-20 minute bus ride (depending on traffic/how many passengers to pick up, etc) to the Alhambra [fare = 1.20 euros].
The Macia Condor served our purposes by providing a cheap accommodation which was conveniently near the train station, Plaza de Isabel (and by corollary, the Alhambra). Similarly, like most other hotls, the Macia Condor was also able to hold our luggage while we were exploring the city/Alhambra in the day time too. Overall, the hotel is a solid 3 star budget hotel providing clean but dated rooms that is conveniently located to transportation that will connect you throughout the city and to the rest of Espana.
