First off this has nothing against the good or sit in service. All those have always been 5 stars. We just did our first take out thru them, ordered 3 Tempura and 3 Cali Rolls. Got the order home and was missing 2 rolls. Called the restaurant and let them know cause it was a 20 min drive back so hopefully they would be ready. They were not, when I got back I was questioned on missing food like I was lying and told manager was gunna vome talk w me. He never did, waited another 2 mins for the rolls to be made. When handed them I was asked if I still wanted to talk w the manager and by then there was no point. It would have been nice to AT LEAST gotten a sorry for the mistake. Nope, and he knew I was there cause I seen the girls go tell him. Today is my husband's 25th birthday & he desperately wanted sushi. We have only eaten here one other time & it was great (plenty of sushi in our lives though), so I figured a to-go order for his special day would be appropriate. He ordered a shaggy roll, a dynamite roll, & a dragon roll. First of all, not only did they give us SIGNIFICANTLY less than when we dined in-person (still charged us $12-$14 per roll though), my husband said, & I quote, "Not lying when I say this, this is the worst sushi I've ever had. I think they legit put sushi in they made like 3 days ago. Everything is mushy asf." If my man were on death row, sushi would be his final meal, & y'all just ruined that. It was so bad that he's not sure he'll ever be able to stomach sushi again. Not to mention, y'all's order online queue asks for a birthday so people can get free treats on their birthday, & he didn't get a damn thing! Service was AWFUL today. Came in for the lunch hour on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. Although our first (AYCE) round came quickly, they never brought our plates and necessities (water, soy sauce dishes, ginger & wasabi). When the water came, we ordered one more drink (a strawberry green milk tea) and had to ask for the plates and sides again. By the end of our second round, our plates, wasabi & ginger, and soy sauce plates still never arrived. We asked 2 more times before they finally brought it but we were already almost done eating. I went here on a Saturday evening. The wait was about 30 mins which wasn't bad and I don't really think I waited that long. My son wanted sushi and I knew this place was new. I'd definitely go again. My son enjoyed his sushi and sashimi. Once I noticed the menu was a set all you can eat price, he decided he wanted to try everything lol. I enjoyed my rolls as well and my milk tea...wish they had boba though. I order some white peach sake and they give you the bottle with little cups (to me, smaller than shot glass size) which was cool. I'm not sure about the other comments but the service was surprisingly quick. I had no issue with getting the food we ordered. There is a 2 hr limit so keep that in mind for large parties...I know how time can fly. There was only one server that just came by and put the food down which was weird...the others mentioned what food they were bringing out which made it easy to recognize what was what and for who. Also, there were a good number of birthdays so we heard them while we were there. You can't miss it lol. Other than that, I think it's worth another visit and I hope they either stay the same or get better. Took my parents here to celebrate my Dad's 77th year Birthday. We arrived around 3:45pm. They asked us if we would like a regular table or a booth. We chose a booth. When walking in, we first saw a Maneki Neko (Cat) and a Transformer (Optimus Prime figure) at the entrance. The decor had some Cherry Blossoms and some decorative flag banners along the ceiling. Everything was beautiful and held to their theme. The hostess was very friendly and took us to our seats. The hostess was nice enough to introduce us on how their service works in their restaurant: All you can eat (AYCE), and drinks besides water is extra cost. DRINKS We ordered a bottle of hot sake for my parents. My parents loved it so much that we ordered two times. FOOD We ordered each miso soup (delicious and deep umami as it should. Seaweed salad (refreshing and typical as it should taste). baked mussels (nicely cooked and delicious). Shrimp tempura (it appears to look like panko covered but it's really still tempura. It's doable and satisfactory. It's not like the splashed style tempura. But it still tasted acceptable - I let this go because I don't expect an authentic person who can cook traditional tempura in my side of Texas. We also had vegetable tempura. All the tempura was prepared nicely. What I found strange to me is that they didn't serve the tempura sauce generously. Which I thought was a bit unusual. I'm use to receiving a standard soup bowl of tempura sauce. I'll still say it was satisfactory overall) Udon was our choice over the Japanese fried rice. We ordered one beef udon and two shrimp. We ordered sashimi slices on a boat: Salmon, Maguro Tuna, YellowTail and White Tuna. My parents loved it and we enjoyed it. It was beautiful on a boat too. (Ask for it). We got a simple tuna roll and the tempura roll. I have to say...I've really enjoyed our experience here. It's possibly one of the best for sushi. We've tried other restaurants and it's pretty difficult to find a restaurant that meets our sashimi needs. We been spoiled living in California and Hawaii. So moving into Killeen has been hit and miss at times. We had a great experience. We were always been taken care of. Our waitress, JODIEN, was amazing. She always made sure we're ok. Ok first time here. Miso soup was awful. Tasted like chemicals. Other than that sushi was good. But nigiri rice balls were different size and rice was not seasoned . So I took a star off for that. Fish and toppings were fresh and tasted good . Beef tataki was good but over cooked and no taste. Tempura ice cream was good fell apart and not much ice cream but good thing we could order more. We have been to this places numerous times. There have been hiccups over the times but NOTHING like tonight. We were seated at a booth in the back by the drink station. It took 15 mins to even get drinks. We ordered as well because we know the menu. This is the 2nd time, 2 different dining times, I've ordered house salad and seaweed salad and never received them. Getting refills on drinks was non existent as well. We also ordered YumYum sauce. It took 4 times of asking, half way through the meal, we finally received that. The excuse of why it took so long was they were speaking to the assistant GM outside. They told that excuse to the table behind us later on, why the server was late taking their drink order. Food was gross. Garlic butter boils should have garlic and not just tablespoons of salt and pepper mixture. Tatoyaki had no toppings and the second one that was brought out was raw. Fried Oreos were cold and soaked in oil. Like they had been fried ages ago. Now, I understand being sat beside the drink station, servers will go over there and chill but vaping in the corner. Really. When did restaurants allow vaping. 2 servers just vaping away in the corner of the drink station. The cleanliness was awful. Food everywhere on the floors. The table had been empty for a while and not one broom. My husband went to the restroom and it doesn't looked like it was cleaned at any point. I have no idea what happened tonight but it's downhill. We dined only a few weeks ago and no issues. Tonight though. Never again. A manager always stops by at some point to ask how we were but not tonight. The one night that would have mattered. Where to even begin! Instead of half the use of the location, Machi is utilizing the entire building! You walk in and the foyer has a cute set up to help set the vibe. You walk in further and to your left, you are greeted by the Hostess. Next to that is a nicely lit not too bright bar area. Then it opens up into seating! Lots of seating! The booths are high backs so there is privacy. The ceiling is decorated with cherry blossoms and lights in them. My husband and I went on a Thursday right before any dinner rush. I would say that the direct light above point down on the table was a little brighter than normal. Mike and Anaya were our servers. It was Anaya's first shift. Funny enough she is my customer at my store. Mike was very thorough with details and rules for the All You Can Eat Sushi (dinner time only) Along with a colorful drink menu. No sharing, what sushi you do not finish you will be charged for and there's not Togo boxes! I actually like this!! Hardly NO WASTE of food!! The trick is to get the sashimi style not just the rolls. Rice of course fills you up. Then just get the choices one at a time! I will say there is a wide selection of appetizers, decently portioned so you're not overwhelmed at first. We ended up getting about 10 items just from that section. On to the sushi! We ended up getting 5 rolls. There was one I did not like but I tried it. My husband got the one time of ordering 20pc. Beautiful presentation of the food!! Very precise and picture perfect to where you almost don't want to mess it up. The service was quick but enough space in between to ordering. Everyone was nice and carried on conversation. Didn't treat you like another table. I will say there is choice of music was nice and up to date. Not something you'll fall asleep to. What hurt the most was how my 9 years old daughter was treated. She asked, with so much excitement, if the staff could sing "Happy Birthday" to her. She waited patiently, smiling, as her dessert arrived... but no one ever came. This was an absolutely terrible experience. There was literally zero customer service. No napkins, no silverware, no straws, no ginger, no wasabi, no drink refills--nothing. The server had an attitude from the start, especially after bringing me pink lemonade when I clearly asked for strawberry lemonade. And when I told another server I didn't want pink lemonade, he came back with an even bigger attitude, trying to convince me that pink lemonade was "real strawberry lemonade." That was honestly a joke. We had to ask for every single basic thing, and all we got in return was an attitude and bare-minimum effort. The server barely showed up at all. We don't know if that's their strategy to make customers give up eating faster or if he was just that bad at his job.
