I dropped my car off to them on 01/30/24 for claim damage from a wrap shop. Maaco was paid $2300 to repaint the doors and door jams. On Tuesday 2/13/24 I was told production manager found some things he wanted to get addressed and my car was going to be ready on 2/16/24. When I goto pick up my car it looked worse than before. It appeared they just wet sanded some areas and re cleared the doors and jams outside. when they were paid 2300 to repaint and re clear the doors and jams. There were clear coat drip marks in the door jams and areas of the damage that were not repaired. On the doors them selfs there were tons of imperfections and even a piece of hair under the clear coat. Over spray on the b pillar and on the bottom plastic areas. The list goes on. Seems like someone painted it in the backyard when they were paid $2300 for just doors and door jam and a lot more quality than what was received. They claim they are going to fix the issues so I will update this review when I pick it up. Update: 3/10/24 picked up my car a second time and very disappointed again. Will not bring my car back here to let them mess it up more. My passive door locks on my doors were not working anymore ( buttons on the door to lock/unlock) turns out they installed them backwards. drip marks everywhere and 2 different colors on my passenger front door. There areas they didn't even fix that they were paid to fix. Terrible place. Overspray INSIDE my car and stuck on my navigation screen and areas around it. Tried scrubbing it off and it will not come off. My car looks worse than before I brought it to them. read more

Had my car painted here and loved the results, I get a lot of compliments on my car and it's always a fun conversation talking about the quality of the paint job and how much I paid for it. The person in charge of painting is also pretty good, he was new at the time I went but did a fantastic job. All the staff was also very friendly and easy to work with. Despite this, my car does have some overspray in certain places which is acceptable considering the price I paid. Also, think another $800 was a pretty big jump for simply painting the door sills of my car but I don't paint cars for a living so I wouldn't know. ***IMPORTANT*** A lot of people reviewing don't really understand the true nature of Maaco so I'll just put some pointers for what to expect at all Maaco's. This is not meant to tarnish the business in any way but here we go: 1. For starters, Maaco is a FRANCHISE, meaning that it's like the Mcdonald's of Auto Body Shops. You don't go to McDonald's expecting the best quality food, if you want quality, you should look for a body shop owned by actual professionals. 2. Because it is a franchise, the people working on your car are expected to work under certain guidelines. Painting a car takes time and they are expected to go through several cars each day, explaining why quality can often come out poor. 3. For the quality of work, their pricing isn't that bad. Yes your car may come out with overspray and yes the quality control might be poor, but you're getting your car repainted for like $3,000 (assuming you're getting one of the higher options). Other auto body shops charge a minimum of like $4,000, so if you want your car to be painted with absolute care and no issues at all, save up and invest in a shop that will actually give your car's paint some longevity. 4. If you still want to go through with a Maaco paint job, it's often better if you do most of the prep work yourself or have someone else do it. Doing prep-work before giving your car to Maaco is often recommended by a lot of people and gives the best results. Again, referring to my 2nd point, their guidelines only give them a certain amount of time to do what they need to do so for better results, do it yourself. If you think this is too much work, go to a better body shop since you'd probably want your car painted with the utmost care as well. 5. Again, you shouldn't come here expecting an A-grade paint job for almost half the price you should be paying. If you want a high-quality paint job, it's not going to be cheap. 6. With many car enthusiasts, this place is known for getting your car painted for cheap, and, for the price, it's pretty worth it. Oftentimes, people use Maaco to paint their car knowing that they want to change it in the near future. They do a decent enough job for people to give you compliments. Just don't come expecting a high-quality paint job that'll last you 5-10 years, it'll probably last you 2 at the most but by then, most of us would have already changed our car's colors. ****************** With all that being said, I added a before and after of my car; the paint has constantly given me compliments and I spent about $1,200 for it, which is a steal seeing how much the car's changed. I did do some prep work before sending it off so do keep that in mind. Overall experience was great, car looks great, there are some places with overspray but for the price I paid, I have no complaints. read more

I will update this review as things unfold: NEVER EVER GO HERE!!! DISHONEST, ZERO QUALITY CONTROL, CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE Dropped my 05 Nissan Titan at this Macco over 3 weeks ago and it's still not done! 1.5 weeks ago Bruno (the manager) calls me and tells me it's done. I go in a few days latter (my soonest availability) to pick it up and I see my truck in the back and it clearly isn't finished. When they brought it around it was painted different colors, there was overspray everywhere and I mean everywhere! The funny part is they try and give it to me! I told Bruno the truck looks like shit and it was not painted as we discussed. He says, "ok ok, I'll make this right give me a few days and I'll fix it". Well...over a week latter and it's still not done! Called today and Bruno isn't available! In the end the truck was not done in the time promised (Bruno said 1 week, it took 1 month). The truck was not painted as discussed and written on the paperwork. Overspray and shabby workmanship EVERYWHERE! These guys either don't know what they're doing or don't care...probably both. brought my little sports car in around march 20th to have body and paint work done they finished it within about 10 to 12 days but left all kinds of areas on done dents and dings that were either not done at all or done very poorly i am so sorry that i ever considered going to mako they brought it back under a warranty told me it would take two more months to fit it in which was total bs called the 1-800 customer service number they got it in two to three weeks earlier and when they finished it the second time they still overlooked areas that were discussed and should have been done and weren't finally took it as it is about 2 months later and haul it back to my place and when i took it off the auto hauler the new bumper they charged me for and fender liners were still rubbing on my front tires because they were not properly installed and i couldn't continue to drive it and they left part of the fender bent at the bottom lip of it so disgusted with the inferior poor quality workmanship after spending almost $5,000 and waiting 2 months to have it redone and not done right is pretty disgusting so sorry i ever went to maaco paint and body in orange california so i can't even properly drive my vehicle and it just sits parked and my place until i decide my next move maaco is about the worst place you could go read more

Just had our car painted at Maaco in San Bernardino. Start to finish is was a great experience! Largely due to Carlos, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! We had some heavy oxidation on the hood & roof of the car and were worried that it would still show through, but it doesn't. We chose the Premium Paint & Urethane Sealer and we're glad we did. I took my ram truck in for painting, purchased top of the line paint package, they removed shell from the truck and all the hardware and They lost ALL of the hardware that secures the camper shell to the body and had no idea how to put it back together. I got a quote 2 plus months ago be the COVID crisis. I know business is slow for most companies. I called to see if the quote can be reduced from a full paint on a crew cab f250 ($2550). I want the same paint job but do to the crisis I have less available funds. The girl that answered phone was pleasant and said I would get a call back from the manager. Beware you get what you pay for. I went in for the 299 special but once i got there price changed it went up to over 400 dollars. Just for a basic black and color change nothing else. They were supposed to paint my rims for additional fee. I called the day it was supposed to be ready. Brunio told me it was ready and asked if i can come later that day. I told him i can come the following morning if thats better. He said that would be great. So i good to pick my car up. Its not ready!! The rims aren't painted. Once i get home i notice drip paint marks where there was too much paint. And of course Brunio wasn't at work and nobody knew where he was. So beware!! read more

Got my paint job for my car back in April 2016 for fading. The paint started to fade and I brought my car back for a re-touch, and it hasn't even been a year. I bought the 3 year warranty plan, too bad the old manager (Troy) was no longer around. The new manager (Manny) comes out and says, "oh those are water spots." Well, if they were water spots I would not be here much less cause paint chipping and fading all around the body. Then the owner (Tony) comes out and starts trying to rub out "water spots" with his finger. We go round and round, and Maaco refuses to acknowledge or honor their warranty. Make it even better, I asked the owner for his last name in order to write a letter to corporate. Tony (owner) refuses to give me his last name and begins to yell at me. When the owner begins to scream and get angry at customers who are asking to honor a warranty, this tells you everything. I walked away before getting stabbed at Maaco over a paint job. To say that I was unhappy and unsatisfied is an understatement. The warranty is only as good as the people who sell you their warranty. Needless to say, their warranty isn't worth cow manure and their customer service is nonexistent. Stay away from this Maaco and take your paint job elsewhere. read more

We were told to come in for an estimate, at first we were told that we would have to have approval from the manger due to the age of the truck. Carlos Martinez came out and went over our truck, approved it and wrote up an estimate. He suggested we take it home and remove all trim for a cleaner paint job. We did that and bought it back on Monday at 4:30. They had already closed altough both corporate and their sign stated a 5:00 closure. Carlos, the "manager" that had written the estimate, looked out and waved us away saying they were closed. He finally came out and said they were booked up. I asked if we could make an appointment and he told us no, to just drive there each day and see if they had openings. After explaining that we both work full time and live 45 minutes away, Carlos made room for us. We walked inside to pay and he said; " sorry the manager (wasn't he the manger?!) won't approve the truck. Lots of time and stress prepping the truck, leaving work early twice to get over there for a estimate and then to drop it off. We will never use Maaco again. read more

Hello, I had my 02 Chevy Silverado fully painted all around and had my cab adjusted so that it would line up with the bed. My truck looked terrible before I took it in it had multiple dents and someone had even keyed my truck pretty bad plus like I said the cab was misaligned. When I picked up my truck I honestly was just astonished with the truck being one color again. When I saw Luis drive it out from the back I was so happy and just shocked how good it actually looked .The truck looked better then the day I bought it off the lot these guys really went the extra mile for me and I am absolutely impressed with what they were able to achieve . Luis and Sylvia are very professional and just really down the earth people they were very helpful and kept me up to date regarding the status of my vehicle. I really appreciate all the hard work that this Macco Location did for me. This place was good as far as re painting my car and the guys there were very cool and polite HOWEVER, i went from a red to a blue color and after they finished i am still seeing red spots all over my car little spots where they put the masking tape at seems like the guy was very impatient with aligning the tape on the edges of my car. They were ok but i wouldnt go back. As much as a paid, i shouldnt be seeing any red at all. I mean i stay in victorville and already had to leave my car there an extra 2 days because they fucked up but im not going all the way back down to san bernardino AGAIN to show them this stuff. They took over two weeks to get my car done. Left my hood still uneven and sticking up. Also they caused my airbag sensor to go off and refused to address it. Customer service was awesome! I painted my 1996 Chevy k1500 black and wow this shop converted a pealing roof and hood into a new truck. They removed at least 40 door dings and dents. The manager was willing to help me with a great price and if you saw this truck today you would be amazed at the quality of work. Just a friendly little warning to others wanting to get their car painted. I spent two months taking my car around to different body/paint shops for estimates for a paint job. I was shocked at how much money they wanted to paint my car. Five thousand dollars! I thought that was excessive. Then my husband found Maaco in San B. and their estimate was approx. nineteen hundred. Still excessive to me but better than five thou. They did an okay job with the paint but I noticed a couple weeks after I got my car home that the lettering on the outside of my car was gone. The one side of my car had the car name and the other side had the letters SLE. I called Macco and they told me they would check with the guys who painted my car and get back to me. I waited four days and never heard from them so my husband went over there and asked about getting the lettering put back on my car. Basically they just told us there was nothing they could do for us. I guess I should be grateful they didn't paint my wheels.LOL. So, if you choose Maaco be aware of what is on your car before and after you get your car back. read more

THIEVES! CHEATERS! Beware - stolen iPad from car! I took my minivan there for a repair that was supposed to take 3 hours (max). They suggested I contact my insurance company for another issue and ultimately the car stayed there for 10+ days!! When I went to pick it up, I noticed my child's iPad wasn't there. When I immediately asked about it, Manny told me that he always takes pictures of cars once it's inside the shop for proof. He pulled up the pictures on his computer and luckily we noticed that there was a tablet there in the car! We went outside to look for it and it wasn't there. He called his boss, Tony, and that's when I started recording our conversation per their awareness. Tony and nanny both searched the entire car, but the iPad was missing. They said "someone will be getting fired over this." They admitted guilt, apologized, said they will look at the surveillance cameras and see if they can identify the thief. In the meanwhile, Tony told me to send over the receipt for the iPad and he will see if he can find my original iPad and if not, will reimburse me. I told them I wanted to file a police report, for which they said not to because they will reimburse me (I have it all recorded on my phone). Fast forward 2 months after I gave them the original receipt of the ipad, Tony refuses to come on the phone to talk to me, has since refused to help come up with a solution, has refused theft now claiming it wasn't an electronic item (the picture clearly shows it is AND they admitted it all at the time of the robbery). I have filed a police report, will be taking them to small claims with concert evidence given to me by their own photos which I took a copy of, and will be reporting them to the BBB. Manny has been helpful in trying to resolve this, but Tony, the boss, has been the most difficult and refuses to resolve this. *** oh best part they saw someone in their surveillance in my car grabbing something but can't identify what!! If you see someone grabbing anything from my car, you know they took SOMETHING SO why not question them?! Do NOT go here.
