Each dinner had plentiful sides of potatoes, carrots, green beans, parsnips and red cabbage. Everything was fresh, abundant and delicious. The service was very good. We had a lovely chat with the 3rd generation chef/owner who not only cooked a great meal but also made some nice recommendations for our trip. We very highly recommend Murphy's Restaurant to everyone coming to the Beara Peninsula.

We knocked on the door and looked in the windows. Soon the door opened and the innkeeper, Don Harrington happily opened the door and poured us a couple of pints, even though he wasn't really open for business at the time. We sat at the end of the pub in front of a large picture window with a lovely view of Kenmare Bay. Don was quite friendly and seemed to enjoy chatting with us Yanks.

There are so many pubs cheek by jowl with each other. Breen's is no exception. The food is good and there are plenty of beers, wines and whiskies to be had at a reasonable price. The bar staff are all well presented and polite. Service is reasonably fast. This place can be packed of a Saturday night. The staff are chatty but not intrusive.
