Disappointed when the bartender told him that they were out of this and that (avocado, a specific beer). Don't expect quick service when eating here. Lunch or dinner. You can stare at all the memorabilia and artwork on the walls to kill time and boredom. The menu can be overwhelming. So many options. Not bad options, just an overwhelming amount of options. You can tell it's an older building. Ceiling is missing or peeling off in some areas. Carpet smells of spilled beverages and bathrooms were not clean when I had to take my daughter in there. We also watched two different servers walk over trash and dropped food in the walkway a couple of times until a third employee finally stopped to pick it up because the table next to us pointed it out. I get carry out from this location 3 or 4 times a month, and it never disappoints. They frequently seem under-staffed, but the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time anyway. The staff is always friendly. All that being said, the food is FANTASTIC. My favorites are the Titanic and the Macado Flyer. The onion rings and potato salad are my favorite sides. We love all the old photos from movies and rock stars. The host waited on us right away, but again.... it was dead. Waitress was very nice and attentive. The food however..... not worth the money. Sunday I stopped in for lunch at McAdo's. It wasn't very busy at 3pm so my friend and I were seated immediately. Our server was very polite but we feel she may have been inexperienced because once she brought us our food, missing a few side items and our pickles, she didn't come back to our table for over half an hour. The sandwich I ordered, the Brooklyn Bridge, was tasty but dry. I ordered it without lettuce or tomato but the horseradish sauce was left off for some reason. My friend's croissant was burned on the top and she didn't receive her French onion dip. Overall it was not one of our better visits, but it wasn't a bad experience, just mediocre. This was my second time coming to this restaurant, and unfortunately this was not a good visit. Let's start with the food, if I was not as hungry as I was, my meal definitely would not have been eaten. I ordered a Diablo Quesadilla and the tortilla was cooked so hard it taste like a saltine cracker when you bite into it. I ordered a hot dog and some French fries for my two year old, and the hot dog was over cooked, so much so I had to bite the hard parts of to get to the meat so my little one could eat it. My son's father ordered Fish and chips, and the chips were cooked way to long. They were supposed to be sweet potato wedge fries, but I don't if the grease needed to be changed or they just let the fries cook way too long, either way they were not good at all. The fish sandwich was way to greasy. Wow, where to start? First let me state that I am a big Macado's fan. Their food is always good. But this particular trip was not so grand. It was due to one patron in the bar and the staffs lack of doing anything about said patrons behavior. This lady, and I use that term loosely, was so obnoxious and loud. She continued to yell and cuss to the point that other patrons started walking out. Apparently she was a regular but that is no excuse. As a bartender you are supposed to recognize when someone is too drunk to be served anymore alcohol. Where was the manager? I visited this location with friends for lunch on Labor Day at 2:15 PM and was surprised to see only three patrons in the restaurant. When my wife and I arrived we requested to sit outside on the patio, or near the front so we could see the front of the restaurant. Apparently this was not acceptable in the eyes of the hostess. The only reason I go to Macado's is because DT KPT doesn't have many options for a watering hole. Tap House was closed so my buddies and I resorted going to Macado's. Of course, it was the same as it always is. The service there is just flat out awful 90% of the time. It always takes a good 20 minutes just to get a beer. I'm not sure if it's the servers or the bartender but something in their system drastically needs to change. The food isn't terrible, and the restaurant could honestly be a cool place- somethings gotta give with the service though!! read more
