But what to their surprise on the iPhone did query, but a guy with a Napa, like an auto parts fairy. He was closed for the night and 'twas a Sunday, but that made no matter to him he did say. He would turn on his computer and sell them the part. He would go out of his way and show them his heart. "Ya'll are here, in Ozona?" He sounded surprised, "Only in a small town", they would later surmise. With a shuffle and a grunt he smiled a big smile, "you'll be back on the road in a very short while." It took longer than expected they thought they'd imposed, but through it Vince smiled, his face quite reposed. He sold them the part, the sockets and soap, those things in skilled hands gave the girlies some hope. Bryce, Cammy and Aili ran around while they toiled, not by the suburban, would playtime be foiled. They wrenched and they pounded on the serpentine belt, almost impossible at one point it felt. At the end it looked easy, as it certainly should, no one overstressed, yet not feeling too good. As Texas laid ahead, almost half of the state, it seemed four more hours their beds would await. Had it not been for Vince and his generous heart they would be in Ozona the next day to depart. So let it be known in all of the land, if you ever have trouble out there in the sand, if your luck is mixed and your car's broken close by, there's no other place better you're likely to try. Matt and Travis took us in, put our spare on, identified the suspension issue, drove 80 miles round trip in the middle of the night to get parts, and had us back on the road at 3 am. We were towing our travel trailer and were left stranded almost 800 miles away from home. I contacted Colton Chaney from Colton's diesels mechanic shop that was advertised online as a Mobil diesel mechanic. I was told by Colton after explaining the symptoms that my truck was experiencing that he could in fact repair it. I had him Tow it to his "Shop" which turned out to be his place of residence. He diagnosed it and told me it was the DEP system or exhaust filter. He stated he did not except extended warranties and because of our emergent situation we believed him that he could fix our truck so we could get back on the road to finish our vacation. He told us we needed to pay for the part which we did through Venmo at his request. I have the receipt from Venmo with his business name. We were camping nearby at a campground waiting for the repairs. When we went to see him to check on our truck after 2 days he stated that the DEP system he purchased was the wrong one but he got one from someone else. So, the part we purchased was never put on the car because this mechanic couldn't even order the correct part. Several days went by and still not fixed. We decided to continue on with a rental car. He told us it would be fixed when we returned which would have been 7 days later. He had my truck for a week and when I called him 2 days before arriving back in Arizona. He stated all of these other things that could be wrong with it but no answers or results. We travel back to CA and the had to rent a trailer to go pick it up. We were told by Colton that he would give us paperwork so we could submit it to our warranty which we never received. He continues to not answer our phone calls or messages. All we want is us money back and a receipt so we can get it fixed somewhere else. Stil months later we can't get it fixed because we have no idea what he did. We have contacted a lawyer and are working on taking him to small claims court. DONT GO TO HIM! EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE!
