Bill and Frank came to our rescue after we collided with a deer in rural west Texas! The initial tow company that retrieved us in the night did not contract with AAA so we spent the night in Ozona while our insurance found a tow and ride for us to the Austin area. I would like to THANK Bill and Frank for making us feel comfortable and entertained during the 4 1/2 hour drive!! They seriously could star in a sitcom named, "Two Texans and a tow truck!" Also, grateful for the follow up from Bill to explain where they delivered the car and keys as it was after hours at the auto shop and we needed to retrieve items from it the next day after we rented a car. This review is long overdue! Shoutout to Mike Baker with Sheffield towing forever! Long story short, we were doing the Jeep trail out in big bend National park of May 2022 when a huge hail & thunderstorm came out of nowhere and flooded the area. Including us - right in the middle of big bend National park. After 12 hours of waiting, the park rangers finally found US but our Jeep was still stuck. After hours of searching companies that could tow jeeps off of off road trails we FINALLY came across Sheffield and the god send Mike himself! Y'all this man is a Jeep towing boss - he towed his own tricked out Jeep on the wrecker, picked us up from Terlingua Ranch (also highly recommend) drove an hour and half to the park where our Jeep was stuck, off loaded his Jeep, drove down to the trail, hooked our Jeep baby up to his Jeep baby (after replacing the tire from the accident), & then loaded BOTH Jeeps back up to save the day! Highly highly recommend Sheffield and Mike and his family! We even had an opportunity to speak to his wife who dispatches for him! Lovely lovely family and the best rescue team out in west Texas! Buyer beware. Received towing services from these guys for my class A RV. In order to do so, they disconnected the driveshaft. After arriving at the mechanics shop, the driver dropped the RV, never said a word to us and drove off. After this we discovered that at some point during the tow the driveshaft fell off. There have been numerous calls, with promises of a call back that has never been received. Horrible customer service or care. Have now been stranded in Texas with no drive shaft for 11 days, still with no return call from these grifters. Ran out of insulin, spent a night in the ER because of it. Still no phone call. Use these guys at your own risk. Oh yeah, had a really fun ride in the RV while it was being towed, since the drivers cooler on the seat was more important than the people receiving the tow. Robert saved our family! 2am and stranded on a deserted stretch of the 10 with a bunch of little kids and a tire that fell off because the tire guys didn't tighten the lug nuts when we got new tires for our 1,300 mile trip. Long story short, I locked the keys in the car with it RUNNING. On a RV road trip, so no spare. Called my road side assistance people (rhymes with Sood Gam) and they dispatched Sheffield Towing. I received a call from Mike in minutes. Since Sheffield is 75 miles away from Sonora (Sonora should have a towing service?) Mike said it would take him a bit to get to me and estimated 1 1/2 hrs. He texted when on his way and got there within 1 1/2 hrs of my call to GS. Was a very nice man and had my car opened within minutes. I received services from Sheffield towing for fuel delivery. I was charged a $100 service fee and an additional $20 for what was supposed to have been 5 gallons of gas. I asked repeatedly if this was enough gas to get me into the next town Ozona, Tx. about 56 miles away. I asked several times if it was enough gas to get me into the next town. I was guaranteed yes. Well, 9 miles from town I ran out of gas. I call the company and the owner were very rude and said they don't guarantee that the 5 gallons will get you to the next town. The whole thing is a scam! They don't care if u make it or not with the gas they provide. I will be filing fraud charges on them because they did not provide the service they tell you. Like other reviewers, we ran out of fuel looking for a station in Sheffield, TX. Unless it's early in the day, the gas station in Sheffield closes at 5 PM. We needed fuel at 10PM. It's important to fuel up your vehicle in Ft. Stockton or Ozona! I called our insurance company (USAA) towing and labor service. That number would be 800-531-8111 for anyone with USAA...use the voice prompts. They dispatched Sheffield Towing and a very nice man named Perry came to our rescue!!! Mark was one of the friendliest and most helpful individuals I have ever encountered. He rescued us in the middle of nowhere on IH 10 near Sonora. He got bad information from AAA about where we were and saw us on the side of the road. He took the initiative to check with AAA to see it that was us, which saved both of us a couple of hours in wasted time since he did not have to go to the wrong location. He kept asking if there was anything he could do to make us more comfortable or to help us feel better about our circumstances.
