ZABIHA HALAL ! We…read moreare absolutely BLESSED to have Alamo Farms available. Outside of Ali Baba, this is our GO TO for fresh meat -- they have live animals in an enclosed area next to the store front, and if you'd like you can actually choose your meats. Alamo Farms has a WIDE RANGE of meats and cuts available. At times, they may run out of something due to popularity and their VERY AFFORDABLE price, but that's not on them. Every time I come here, there's at least 4-5 cars parked outside. They don't serve just the Muslim population, but an entire community. For my *halal* lovers, I've personally seen the rooms / freezers in the back of the lot and it is VERY CLEAN. You can easily see that the blood has been drained from the animal, and it is done ethically. My husband buys PLENTY at one time to put into our deep freezer and we've never had any issues with any freezer burns either. I personally love their short ribs, T-bone steak, and ribeye. The gentlemen that work also make great recommendations when you are looking for a specific cut of meat. We wanted to make beef birria tacos and the cut they recommended yielded PERFECTION. Alhamdulilah for Alamo Farms.

Came here on a whim after our afternoon activity and the husband wanted to check this place out and…read moregrab some meat cuts. So many choices of meat cuts! Anything you can imagine all here! While I saw they had some fresh coconut juice for sale, that was a must when it was getting hot during the summer. Service was prompt and got helped once available! Prices were fair. Parking was ample while we were there!

We tried to secure a sloth experience for a corporate event through Zoomagination and held what…read moreseemed like two very positive phone calls with Jennie, the co-owner, in which we verbally arranged all the details. However, when we asked for a paper agreement to hold the date, she said they "didn't usually do them." When we insisted that for a corporate event with lots of money on the line (our entire booth is supposed to be themed around the sloth), we needed at least SOME kind of agreement and deposit in place, she promised multiple times across two phone calls to send us something...but never did. Two different members of our team tried patiently to follow up with her for OVER THREE WEEKS via email, phone, and text message. We didn't even get the courtesy of a simple message back saying she couldn't do it, and frankly, it left us in a difficult position and created reputation risk for us with other vendors. I absolutely cannot recommend this mobile zoo if you need someone reliable for your event, and candidly, the lack of responsiveness we received is hard NOT to perceive as extremely rude. It's sad, too -- a member of our team apparently saw this zoo present at a different event and said it was good. But how would you even know they were going to show up? I see they have lots of good reviews, but they all seem to be old. I can only guess they must be missing whatever management they used to have. All around just a huge bummer.

I was surprised with a sloth meet and greet and was super excited about it. Meeting the sloth in…read moreperson was the highlight of my year. I also learned a lot about sloths. They are slow like they are portrayed. They are nocturnal. They eat veggies and fruit. They poop once a week and only at night. Who would have know ? I didn't book this experience, but the handler was accommodating. We were able to meet Osa in her environment, but I do understand that they can take her to your home too. Definitely a great experience It's my understanding, that these animals are all rescued.

I haven't been riding since I was a kid. So a LONG time. When I moved to SA, I immediately wanted…read moreto look for horse riding- something small, nice, and, of course, affordable. I found this place while browsing online and I noticed all the reviews were really nice. $50 for an hour + $3 fee ? Hella yah! At first when I pulled into the neighborhood, I was confused and thought I was at the wrong place, but the place is actually immediately right outside of the housing division, it's not hard to miss at all. The driveway can fit one vehicle at a time- so be careful entering and exiting. I am 4'8" & weigh about 130lbs. And I'm always worried whether I can fit the saddle and stirrups. Main reason why I just haven't really found a place to get back to riding. There are so many horseback riding places that won't allow someone like me to ride their horses because of size. Which is hella crazy to me because jockeys are KNOWN to be my size riding 15-20 hands. We're born for this lol. Let's talk about arriving: once you make it into the driveway, it's a small parking area and there're some horses and some cute miniature horses for you to pet. There are a few stable hands setting up for the 9am ride (I had) and working really well as a team. Check-in was a breeze. Now Riding: Now I was put on Gigi's who's a bit smaller (of course) and the guy (can't remember his name) noticed that the stirrups couldn't be adjusted higher for me. But they said it was fine because as long as I can put my foot in and rest them a bit while pointing my toes down, Gigit will follow the leader regardless. And honestly, I wasn't worried. The guy was super genuine and everyone really trusts the horses. Like so much faith in them. That's how I knew I- personally- was in good hands. I was right behind Miranda who was our front-of-the-line trail leader. She was great. Patient. Got to know me a bit. But the trail itself was amazing. Went through some woods, then a a beautiful opening. Even saw a baby deer. They have a dog who followed along with us. He/she kept trailing in front of me and Gigit was right on his/her tail and the line behind me was slowed down further because I was already a slow rider lol. I was worried he would step on the dog, but I was like- it's an animals instinct to move lol (some times). I hardly had to tell Gigit what to do. He just kept following along and made his own turns and I felt so at ease. And when he wanted to reach for a leaf, he listened very well when we needed to keep going lol. They all do. All in all, best damn horse ride I've had in a LONG time. Very affordable too. You can bring a Fanny pack and keep your phone in your back pocket and wear a hat/sunglasses. Def wouldn't mind mentioning about getting some stirrups that fit petite folks like me but I ain't complaining too much because the experience was well worth it and they never once doubted that I wouldn't be able to ride. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR BEGINNERS and if you're petite like me and/or if you want to go by yourself like how I did!
