Went to the Poteet Strawberry Festival on April 13th and let me say I was not impressed. I was so…read moreexcited because it is something that is highlighted about Poteet and it being a little town off of San Antonio I wanted to support it so badly. I love small towns and what they could offer. I really thought it was going to be all about strawberries, with a lot of stands of local farms selling their farm grown strawberries or people selling strawberry flavored items or food items with strawberry incorporated things but I found very few. Instead it is just a blown up carnival with a market on the side with people selling everything and anything except strawberry items! Which is what I thought this whole thing was about! First off- parking was $10 which is fine, but then the tickets were $20 each to get in so right off the bat I'm spending $30 just to get in to the place and the only thing I'm enjoying is live music. I tried to enjoy what was highlighted like the strawberry shortcake but it was a 5/10 at best. I'm sad to say I wont come again.

Such as free refills on popcorn and soda. Large popcorn and extra large soda for $19.50, ticket price adults $8. Was charged for my 11yo son as an adult. (Didn't realize til later) Sad to say I will not return here. Chairs were updated comfy but too tall for anyone under 5' 10", anyone shorter will struggle seeing over the chair infront of them. Nice sound system, projector, theater had a little AC duct overhead false ceiling damage.

Okay, if you're a theater connoisseur my rating will have you laughing, but if you just like a…read moremovie and popcorn, this is a wonderful 4-screen theater (for me, it's only 8-9 minutes from my front door) with acres of parking (literally). Admission is dirt cheap (compared to San Antonio theaters) and the Manager's Special is an extra-large popcorn with all the refills you want and 2 medium drinks for a reasonable price. When I go alone, I have them fill one drink (placed inside the second cup) and butter the popcorn. For action movies I usually ask the snack bar personnel if there is a slow spot where I can get a popcorn and drink refill and they always tell me where there is one or just say you don't want to miss a minute. No problem there, as I just get my second drink and a popcorn refill on the way out at the end of the movie. At home, I share the popcorn with my dog, who does every trick I've taught her for more and I'm sure she gives the popcorn 5 stars. Very friendly staff. You can't get more "hometown" than this.

Okay, so in general, I like museums. You get me in a new and different town - if there is a…read more"strange" or unique museum or attraction - I'll probably investigate. I'll probably end up being that Dad - dragging family to roadside attractions like "THE BLOB FROM OUTER-SPACE", or what have you... Anyway, driven by this little museum a handful of times in the last few months. This morning I had a little bit of extra time before driving back to San Antonio. The lady at the front was very nice. She immediately told me they don't charge for admission (they take donations), but they do ask people to sign the guest book. Just yesterday, some people signed in from HELSINKI, FINLAND. Thought that was particularly random... The museum itself reminds me more of an antique store. Have you ever been antiquing at one of those "malls" where everyone has their own section/booth? Kinda like that. It's as though generations of families in the area donated really old, antique items and each has their own display. For example, in one area, I noticed photo albums and other collections of letters from x person to x person. Not sure they were significant other than the letters being very old and from "the times". Please know, I mean no disrespect when I say there is really no rhyme or reason to how the museum is laid out i.e. there is no natural "flow" as in a "typical" museum. It's just chock full of really old "Old West" memorabilia. Overall, this place has some cool stuff, but it feels a lot more like an antique store than a museum.
