I've been going here for years, and today was the worst experience i've ever had! The service sucked! and my nails are NOT what i asked for.. i will not be going back, so disapponted. Also burnt my nail. read more

All I needed was a pedicure but not being a regular for full sets of gel nails I was considered meh. The man of the shop did my pedicure and he couldn't get the top off of the polish I selected so he went behind the counter and came back and immediately went to work on my nails and my first thought was did I pick that Barbie pink? I would say it was a different polish but even if it wasn't the polish was so thick he had a hard time filling the brush and upon inspection when I returned home I could see a glob on my big toe And he didn't get the side very well. So I say find another place unless your are a regular in for gel manicure. I have been here before and they are always unfriendly bad vibe! read more

I usually trust reviews, but needed a quick pedicure so kept my fingers crossed. They were pleasant enough to work with, however the pedicure was unfortunately the worst I've ever had. They didn't line the tub with a plastic liner and the tools were set out to the side (so not sure if they were sterilized). He cut my skin on my large toe, the nails are uneven (one side obviously longer than the other), he used a cotton ball with nail polish remover at the very end over all my toes and nails (stung like the dickens on my cut toe), and still I have nail polish on my skin. One bright spot is that it was the least expensive pedicure I've had in a long time (although you get what you pay for). read more

Not the best, but go the job done. This wasn't the best salon experience I've ever had, but it served its purpose. I had completely ripped off my gel polish, and my nails were a mess. I was traveling and just needed a quick fix, and they were able to take me in without an appointment, which I appreciated. That said, the service was pretty bare-bones. There was no soaking, cuticle cream, trimming, or even a hand massage--none of the usual steps you'd expect from a standard manicure. What surprised me most was that the tech filed my nails after polishing, which has already led to some chipping. When I questioned it, he assured me it wouldn't make a difference... clearly, it did. Still, at $20, it was a quick and inexpensive fix--especially compared to the $70+ I usually spend. It got me through in a pinch, and I'll be back to my regular nail tech on Friday for a proper manicure. Not ideal, but not a total loss either. read more

Went for a pedicure. Very rushed job. Hardly scrubbed the soles of my feet. Cut my toenails and cuticles very quickly I thought he was going to cut me. Got gel polish and there's gel all on my skin around my toes. He cut one of the corners of my toe nail and left it crooked/misshaped. No attention to detail, no massage, my feet are still rough and dry. The quickest and worst pedicure I've ever gotten. read more

Terrible experience. My nails were sloppily done. Not blended well could see lines from previous acrylic there was nail polish all over my fingers afterwards. Didn't clean up my cuticles and they are unsanitary. I got little bumps all around my nails, they became itchy, swollen and sensitive to touch. When I spoke to the manager about getting a refund she offered to redo my nails but I declined bc of the outbreak I got from there and she refused to give me my money back and stopped responding to me. Also my nails started lifting 4 days after I left there. read more

I've been going to MTV nails and taking my grandkids for 15+ years. Tommy, Tammy and John are always pleasant and welcoming. The business is clean and service wonderful. Once in a while we have had problems but they are always helpful and fix the mishap. I would suggest them to anyone! read more

Dirty, not very nice and horrible service as well as finished product. Had a manicure and when done polish was on finger, cuticles still visible. read more

I'm so happy I tired this place out. I get my nails done frequently but none of the other nail and hair salons in Lexington do acrylics which is a pain. I went in for a full set ($25) several weeks ago and was really happy with the results! If you are clear about what you want an are not afraid to speak up, you will get your way. She was a little rushed as they were very busy. I went again two days ago and got another full set from Tammy and she did a great job. I went in on a Sunday after making an appointment and it was great!! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The man who did my nails cut my toe pretty bad. He didn't even say anything. He finally had to put something on it to stop the bleeding. When he was done he said, "sorry I cut but I do a good job." Seriously? I took an antibiotic to make sure I didn't get an infection. Never again. read more

To be honest I'd give this place zero stars... super gross equipment. I got SNS but left looking like I had gumdrops on my fingers.... never again. read more

I've been going to this place for manicures and pedicures for 15 + year's. I've never noticed any unsanitary conditions. They have always done a beautiful and professional job and I have always been thrilled with the results. I just had gelled french manicure and pedicure by Tammy, which turned out beautiful. I'm getting ready to go back so I don't understand the people on here saying these terrible things about the "unsanitary conditions". Simply, not true. Tammy and everyone else who works here are always very friendly and personable and I enjoy the friendly conversation. Highly recommend this place. read more

I go to MTV usually every time i get my nails done... but this time was different. The customer service is great but everything else was quite concerning. I requested SHORT stiletto shaped nails thinking the price would be the usual, $25, it was not. It was $28, I also got them short this time because I did not want to pay the extra 5-10 dollars they charge for the length. THE MANAGER there not only cut my finger but managed to get polish all over my fingers. At the end of the appointment I STILL ended up paying $10 extra for nothing. My friend got long coffin nails and was only charged $28. I do not recommend this place. Will not be returning. read more

I have been going to MTV for several months now and I love this place ! I had only been to one other salon before coming here and I had trepidation about going because of the way the prior place had treated it's customers. I went from a salon where the owners acted as though they were annoyed you walked in to a place where they are thrilled to see you every time you come in. Tammy and Tommy are personable and make you feel comfortable upon entering. Tammy does an incredible job on acrylics and I have never had a bad set of nails. Once, I had a color I wasn't exactly in love with and came in the next day to get it changed. I was not charged and left with a color I loved. I would recommend MTV to my friends and family in a heartbeat :) read more

Shitty job. Really messed up my nails. Going to go them redone sometime soon. Got nail polish all over my cuticles and did not take care in cutting my nails or cuticles. I'm very easy going with my nails typically and feel like I can go anywhere but this place was really not great and will not be going back read more

I do not normally provide reviews, but my experience was so poor that I believe sharing could be valuable to others looking for a nail salon. I made an appointment and still has to wait 40 minutes. The pedicure I received lasted 18 minutes. My big toe was bleeding and is scabbed this morning. There was no filing or buffing, only cutting and clipping. My toes look as if a two year old did them. The experience was awful. read more

I am only giving this place 2 star because of the pleasant people but the male owner does a horrible job with nails. They were sloppy and rough acrylic nails. The paint job was everywhere and didn't look smooth. Didn't get the shape I wanted even though I showed a picture multiple time. Not worth it at all. He made the same mistake before with me and acrylic nails. Ask for someone else! read more

Tommy did my nails, they looked absolutely terrible, he cut my fingers twice and the second time I jerked away it was so painful. My nails fell off after a week. Once they came off there are deep lines in my nails where he shaved down my nails so much, they are now brittle. It was a terrible experience and was rushed. No way I would go back again. read more

This place was absolutely disgusting. I'm from out of town went yesterday for a full set plus pedicure- $50. I still have red polish under my French pedicure which is smeared from his finger, then he nods yeah good. I tell him no not good you can't even tell I had a pedicure. He makes me walk to manicure chair no shoes I'm stepping on old nails, something wet. My fingers don't match it looks like he just said, "good enough I don't need this business." I've never cried getting my nails done but this was terrible. read more

I love this place. I get my nails done here every 2 or 3 months (I would come more if I could). The pedicures I get here last longer than any place I have been on the east coast. I got a gel french manicure for my wedding 10 days ago, and it still looks just as beautiful as day one. I highly recommend this MTV nails. read more

This place is by far the most disgusting nail place I've ever been to. The staff was friendly enough, but everything was very dirty. Toe separators were reused, no disposable flip flops were used, and zero tools were cleaned or sanitized. Towels need replacing and the nail polish was all old and half used. We came hoping for a relaxing afternoon of pampering and left crossing our fingers that we don't get an infection. Where is the health department? Spare yourself! read more

They may do acrylic, but my wife just got back with polish all over her hands and complaining about the dirty conditions. I will drive her to Staunton before she ever goes back here. And they had to redo couple times and still not right read more

This was a total waste of my time and money. My pedicure was rushed. She did not properly file and buff my feet so when I left my feet were still rough. Things only got worse when I sat down to have my full set done. First, he was rough and absent-minded. He sat the box with nail tips right on top of my hands instead of warning me and asking me to place my hands elsewhere. Then he started shaping my thumbnail and asked if I liked the shape. When I said no, he immediately became angry and said that was the shape I asked for. He continued with the rest of my hand then he checked in again asking if I liked the shape, but two of the nails were completely crooked. Eventually, he switched with another woman who painted and finished my nails but he had already left my nails misshapen and lumpy. My left and right hand don't even look remotely similar. They didn't trim my cuticles or massage lotion into my hands, so my hands looked just as bad as when I came in. They charged me $59 for this!! $59 dollars for rough feet, horribly done nails, and bad customer service. I will never be going to this salon again read more

UNSANITARY. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The conditions are not hygienic. Tools were not cleaned, and the pool for the spa pedicures were disgustingly unclean. I have been getting my nails done regularly for almost two decades, and this is the first place I have left because I was legitimately afraid of getting a fungus or infection. As another reviewer said, this place should be shut down. There are much cleaner and better places to go in Lexington, and, even if this was literally the only place in town, it isn't worth the health risk. read more

stay away! this place should be closed down! its filthy and unsanitary. I went here for a pedicure there were a bunch of young girls doing the pedicures, and they were sitting around loudly talking to each other about all kinds of things. i decided to go ahead and get my nails done, as there are not many places to go in lexington. The girl yelled at the guy who was digging through her caddy drawer that the tools werent clean. He then took the tools and swished them around in the sink to 'clean ' them. I asked for a towel, dried off my feed and left. stay away. this business should be shut down. read more

Unless you like trashy, thin brows, don't come here for a brow wax. I asked for medium sized brows and I got pencil thin brows. I'm attending a wedding tomorrow so I'm even less thrilled. One star added for getting me in and out quickly and for the technician apologizing but the damage was done. read more

The people are nice enough. They take walk-ins but seem irritated when they ask you what you want done. The whole place is unsanitary. I got acrylics done with gel, which is what I always get at other salons, and they usually last a month or so. I got them done around 2 pm and that evening around 9, four of my nails already had peeling gel. I asked for a shorter length and the man made them way longer than I wanted. When using the file, he cut into the skin on the thumb, and made it very sore. I have had decent experiences at MTV in the past, however today's job was terrible. My nails looked so bad that I decided to cut the extra length and take the gel off myself. The actual acrylic job wasn't terrible, they were shaped decent, but the gel was an absolute disaster. The last time I went to MTV was about a year ago. I had asked for only gel and the man gave me acrylics then gel. At the time I wasn't aware of what acrylics were so I thought it was just part of the gel process. I soon learned that he had taken it upon himself to do acrylics and then charge me extra for it. (Silly me) If you are looking for a nail salon in lex I would find somewhere else. read more
