It was an interesting experience to see how the employee was getting the fresh dough dipped into sesame seeds and line them up in the wood firing oven. Pretty impressive! I can confirm that these bagels have this unique taste and texture that you do not normally come across. They have such a variety: blueberry, cinnamon, onion, garlic, sesame, cranberry coconut, just to name a few. I also picked up a smoked salmon and a smoked meat bagel sandwich. The generous portion of cream cheese makes these sandwiches such a delight and made our Sunday lunch extra special.

The bagels really are different in Montreal relative to the States (but maybe not as life changing as the tourist blogs would have you think). Great food and service here. Small no nonsense store. All bagels are good, but I particularly liked the sesame and everything. Don't forget to get some of the delicious spreads off to your right too!

This place has the entire area smelling of warm, freshly baked bagels! MTL Bagel has quickly become one of my favourite Bagel spots in Montreal and even puts some of the big names to shame. Inside, it is quite small but cosy; I was pleased to see that the owner has taken good Covid measures by protective screens and only allowing 4 customers inside at a time. There are so many unique flavours of bagels to choose from, it's really difficult to decide which to go for. My all time favourites are the spicy all dressed, garlic onion and banana chocolate - the latter definitely being the first of it's kind that I have seen! I am addicted to their bagel matinal (egg and swiss cheese). Since discovering this place, I have visited a couple of times just for that. They really don't hold back on the cheese and the freshness and flavour of the spicy bagel really hits the spot! Highly recommend stopping by to grab a bite or bagels if in the area!

I reviewed MTL bagel back in 2018 and it has been consistently amazing! I stand by my statement that this is the best bagel in Montreal. Excellent variety, always fresh, good value and the deliciousness that is the all-dressed/spicy bagel. The sandwiches are also divine, especially the morning sandwich and the smoked salmon. Service is always friendly! I'm so glad other yelpers had the chance to discover this place!

If I could sing, I would sing MTL bagel all the love songs and praises it rightfully deserves. As soon as you enter, you're hit by that delightful smell of freshly baked bagels. I think the only thing I'm sad about is that it's a bit of a journey to get to; regardless, I am definitely going to be back soon! They have a wonderful variety of bagels: from carrot (!) to cranberry, there's so many to choose from! I'll be back for sure to pick up the other flavours soon. They have lots of different sandwiches. Both the smoked meat and the smoked salmon were SO GOOD. It was super well prepared and the sesame seed bagel paired well with the sandwiches. Service was top notch: cashiers were very friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure every guest was treated well and had fun conversations with everyone. COVID was also well dealt with; while it's a smaller place, they have restrictions on how many can enter (4 total) and everyone was wearing masks and they had screen dividers. Overall, such an awesome local place and I am already dreaming about my next stop there!

I was actually the first person to review this business back in 2017. I went back to get some bagels and some sandwiches today and was amazed. The quality of the food is always great, the service was always amazing, it's how much lovelier the store is inside. They have put up the nicest protection for COVID19 of any store I've seen so far. The owner Glen Spence has added more products for purchase and they look amazing. If you haven't been in a while, you absolutely need to go. He simply makes the best bagels in town.

What a fun, delicious shop!! It's a tiny little place in a one back strip mall that's not very well lit. But if you mention mtl bagels to any locals most likely they will light up and start asking what flavors are your favs. We are a st-Viator fam, but honestly mtl bagels is right up there in terms of fun, creative flavors and just a very solidly delicious basic bagel. They have this giant stone wood looking oven that basically is the whole back wall. There's so much charm and good smells in this place. Nothing is quite straight, perfect angles, or polished to perfection and that's what I love about the place. Staff are incredibly friendly and ppl you just would love to hang out with. On to the bagels!! We had the cream cheese sesame bagel sandwich and the tuna sandwich on spicy bagel. My husband loved his cream cheese even on a fully loaded stomach. The spicy bagel was a revelation!! Flavor?? In a bagel?? This is like the first time I tried cinnamon raisin bagels and ODed on a half dozen in one day. I could easily scarf down a dozen of these spicy bagels that are basically like an all dressed (onion, garlicky, crunchy, sesame, and a hint of cayenne) and perfectly crunchy and soft all at the same time. Just scrumptious. Prices are super decent with some great ideas and choices like 3 bags of 3 day old bagels foor day old bagels for $8.99 and a bag of day old bagels for $3.25. What. A. Steal!! I'm so excited about finally going to this place my friend had been addicted to, and now glad to sneak out of the house as much as possible to get me some bagels Just you wait for me carrot and banana choco chips!! Supporting local businesses has never been as easy or yummy as a trip to Mtl bagels!

Delicious fresh and chewy bagels. I tried the sesame ones and they were just so good even 2-3 days later after toasting them. I also tried the turkey bagel sandwhich as well as the roast meat one. Both were very good but the smoke meat was a bit salty so you can't really taste the flavor of the bagel. The guy was super nice and friendly. Would definitely come back.

MTL bagel is located in Cote st Luc, a 25 minute drive from le Plateau. Parking was easy as it's in a strip mall, as we lined up many others began to line up behind us, that's when we knew it must be a very good bagel place. As someone who lives between the two most popular bagel places in Montreal, St Viateur bagel and Fairmount bagel, I have to say MTL bagel can definitely compete. They have many options of bagels from sesame, poppy seed, spicy all-dressed, onion and garlic, carrot, banana chocolate, blueberry, cranberry and coconut cranberry. It was extremely hard to choose which 6 bagels to get. We settled with blueberry, banana chocolate, cranberry, and spicy all dressed. We each got the smoked salmon bagel sandwich, I got it on an all dressed spicy bagel and my bf got it on onion and garlic. This sandwich was so good. Sometimes I find bagel sandwiches a little hit or miss because the bagel can be too hard and cause it to fall apart. This was not the case here, the bagel was crispy on the outside but soft and warm on the inside. I wasn't even that hungry but still gorged it down. My bf eventually ate a banana chocolate bagel in the car and he said it was amazing, the texture, flavours, everything. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful! We may have to make some trips out here in the future! Hot tip: They sell day old bagels for $8.99 for 3 bags of 6! We bought a bunch and have frozen them!

This is a great shop for bagels. The hub of 4 locations, they make fresh bagels every day . Along with great bagelwich options : like the smoked salmon and cream cheese. Absolutely loved it, was packed with flavour. They also sell Jamaican patties to go and things like cream cheese. Specials included 18 bagels for 9$ . The staff was friendly and all covid measures were respected (plexiglass front to cover cash & staff wearing face shields ) . Thank you Yelp & MTL bagel for the invitation to explore local shops .

What amazing bagels! We tried 6 different flavors and they were all absolutely amazing. My favorite was the garlic/onion and spicy all dressed. The smoked salmon sandwich was good but too much cream cheese. Even the pastries were good.

So on my trip to Montréal, decided to…read morecheck out Bagel Fréna, of course not realizing that its neighborhood in Lachine was not just down the block from where I was staying in the center of town. Well, the adventure was worth it... enough that I returned a 2nd time on my trip! Bagel Fréna is a relaxed neighborhood spot specializing in these Israeli and Moroccan delights, resulting from its extremely friendly owner's cultural background. A corner location, its front windows were fully open allowing a light breeze to complement the warm, late summer air. The music fit the chill vibe. Jerusalem Bagels (a.k.a. Ka'ak or Simit) are flat, oval bagels coated in sesame. Mine had also green olives, perfect with Za'atar Hummus. To drink, I enjoyed their sweet Moroccan Tea made with fresh mint leaves, which reminded me of my time years back in Marrakech and Fez. On my next visit to Bagel Fréna in addition to another cup of that fantastic Moroccan Tea, I decided to try their Jerusalem Pita, also coated with sesame. This time, I filled the warm bread with Olive Cream Cheese and Moroccan Roasted Red Peppers. All flavorful and sensational! Can imagine Bagel Fréna would be a nice place to hang out with a friend or two, while you're eating or going for their Turkish Coffee. You'll find also shelves of games to play to pass the time. Definitely recommend checking it out!!!
