I am in town for a couple months from NV. Originally, I wasn't planning on training since I have a…read morerigorous academic schedule with both my military and civilian careers while being here. However, I changed my mind when some of the girls I worked with expressed interest in training. This was the closest place. I did call at first and didn't receive a call back like a previous review. However, knowing that most gym owners do everything at their gym like teaching, cleaning, scheduling, front desk, and even possibly working a full-time job in addition to running a gym, etc. I didn't take this personal... I looked at the time... saw it was class time and sent an email to the gym. I did receive an email back! Chris asked me if I ever trained. I told him yes but I'm probably going to only do no-gi because I didn't plan to train while I was here initially and didn't bring my stuff. He said told me it was no problem and he had a bunch of loaner gis that I was welcome to use. Chris is really down to earth and welcoming as well as all his students! The vibe is great at this gym. I've been training for over 9 years and I really appreciate when a gym welcomes guests as their own and has that family feel right when you come in! Come try them out if you are in town!

I was here short term for military training and education but had a great time training with the team here. Everyone was welcoming and encouraging. I had been out of training for over a year, and this was my first time coming back, since I had some free time while I was here. I was coached and welcomed as one of the team without a second thought. It is clear the culture they have here is intentional and supportive. I recommend anyone in the area train here.

I was invited by a friend to join her for the Saturday morning Mitts and Hits class. I had never…read moregone to a boxing class so I was very nervous and didn't have a clue what to expect. When I arrived I realized it's a legit boxing gym. No frills and no thrills. It's like out of an old boxing movie. However, the staff were really friendly and helpful. They had mitts and tape for me to use. (I recommend bringing your own if you have it) Ashley, one of the instructors, walked me step by step on how to wrap my hands and she give me a quick intro to some of the moves prior to the class beginning. I had an amazing workout and torched some serious calories. If you're looking to change up your fitness routine I highly suggest you give Drakes a try. (Bonus, the first class is free)

First night I show up they offer no free classes or a free trial, then before getting to know me the owner asked if I was interested in fighting in his charity fight, the whole thing smelled fishy. Next, on to when I actually got to spar. The "fighters" have zero self control and only aim for the head with about 100% of their power behind the punch, no wonder he needs volunteers to get beat up so bad. Everyone keeps getting injured sparring because there isn't any guidance or skill. The instructors told me very little about themselves so who knows if they have even been in a real boxing match themselves. Yet their training people on how to go into the ring and get beat up! Like I said, they offer a pretty good conditioning exercise but no real boxing technique except standing flat footed and brawling.
