I HIGHLY recommend Funeral Caring USA…read more We have used Funeral Caring's services twice. Both were for relatives in another state. We could not have asked for more professionalism and support during these trying times. My husband and I, afterwards, set up pre-need services for ourselves to ease the burden on our children when the time comes. We were able to sit down and plan out OUR wishes and needs, 12 plus years ahead of time (and counting), when emotions are not running high and time pressures are on... Another bonus, the price is covered with their pre-paid program, no matter how much time goes by. Other friends and family have also taken advantage of their pre-need services to reduce the stress on their loved ones on our recommendation. It does give you peace of mind.

We met with Richard at the Bandera location, and he was kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. After notifying them of our mothers passing, we spoke with Nancy Powell, who was our funeral director. From the point of notification, every conversation with her was full of rudeness, a lack of empathy and compassion and lies. She takes no accountability for her actions and when I confronted her on some lies she told, it was just shrugs and an "Oh well", and crossed arms. She didn't even have the courtesy of showing up to our mom's funeral, not that I wanted her there. I've already made it very clear to Nancy that she is an unlikable person. I dont know how or why she interacts with the public when she makes it clear that she doesn't like people or her job. If she is assigned to your funeral, I would strongly recommend going to another company

When my daughter had the unfathomable task to plan the funeral for her first born child she asked me to help her find the best funeral home in San Antonio. Without hesitation I replied, Porter Loring. I already knew the reputation that Porter Loring had of being compassionate and providing quality care for the deceased and the families of the deceased. They certainly lived up to their reputation. They took care of everything for my daughter and son-in-law and most of all they provided immaculate care for my Grandson. I want to recognize everyone at Porter Loring for the outstanding job they did for my entire family. From the funeral directors: Crystal G., Amy G., Daniel G., Barrett S., Marisa M. To the amazing care team: Lexi L., Elena M., Bethany J., Avery M., Claudia R., Danny G., Shawn R., Kaine C., Hector G., Jermaine A., Aubrey C., Tetiana D. Administrators: Kelsey H., Amy N., Cristina R., Amy D., Dina A. Service Associates: Glori R., Riley R., Louis L. This entire staff deserves recognition because they showed my family that we weren't just another family experiencing the loss of a loved one. They treated us like family and displayed the utmost professionalism I have ever witnessed. Thank you to everyone at Porter Loring for making this experience better than we could have ever imagined.

He was highly responsive and flexible with all of our requests and kept us updated throughout. I can't say enough about the quality of work he provided us. The ceremony was beautiful, and overall we felt like our loved one was honored considering the short amount of time that everything was completed. They took care of the slideshow that was shown during the service, they also took care of the playlist of songs, and they took care of the programs that were handed out. Norma was also helpful in making sure the food was stocked and displayed along with ensuring our guests needs were taken care of. The bathrooms were clean, the whole building seemed to be clean, and it didn't seem like that detail was overlooked which was highly appreciated after viewing other funeral homes. The lighting was good, and we felt like the staff was good overall as well. There was also a private family room attached to the main service room if anyone needed a break or wanted to use it for a kids room. This place was full service from what I could tell. The only part that I wasn't extremely satisfied with was towards the very end where it felt like we were a little rushed out. We did book for an extra hour to ensure this didn't happen, but things happen and we understand that part wasn't understood my some of the staff. I would recommend this place to anyone based on the services provided that we received.

This is a hard review to write. My father passed away a couple of years ago, and he is at this…read morecemetery. We initially visited the day after his passing to make arrangements, and purposely selected a shady, wooded area in a row that allowed for raised monuments. The prices are high and the paperwork is extensive, but the staff we worked with were professional and all of our questions were answered. Even the day of the service, things were smooth and organized. Yet, nearly two and a half years later, he still does not have a headstone. There's a board that approves all markers and they have declined several drafts of what we want- and we are never provided with a rationale for why. Despite selecting a plot based on being able to use a raised headstone, we are now being told that the policy has changed. A design with a cross was declined, and staff (off the record) said it was due to the religious imagery. At a cemetery! Ridiculous. Whenever we request a copy of these mysterious policies, we get the run around. Nothing is ever provided in writing. Calls higher up to get this rectified are never returned. Apparently, once they get tens of thousands of your dollars and your loved ones remains, they could care less about customer service. Losing a parent is a heartbreaking experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone and Mission Park has made the ordeal exponentially more exhausting and painful with their constant paperwork and lack of humanity. I guess the one small upside is that the double-deep plot means I won't have to go through this elsewhere when my mother passes, we will just need to carve in the dates. Assuming they ever allow us to have a headstone. NOTE: There is only one single-stall bathroom available in the sales trailer, no facilities on site despite the massive chapel building that has been under construction for years. Plan ahead when visiting or attending a service.
