SETTLING LA DISPUTA FOR MORNING FUEL…read more Located in the Stanton Hotel near historic San Jacinto Plaza lies the little coffee stand that could. Upon entering the modern double doors, Dispute Coffee takes up a little corner, nestled between a beautiful wall fixture and section of ultramodern, white interior decor. White walls, black majesty. They mirror the cup of black gold that they serve. Espressos, coffee, latte, cappuccinos with flavours ranging from lavender, hazelnut, vanilla, pumpkin spice (tis the season!), and coconut. Now, lets talk about la Disputa. Note: Syrups are not housemade, but nonetheless high quality. The DRINK: Lavender Iced Latte: BLESSINGS OF THE BEAN AND FLOWER Who would have thought to combine the robust, bold flavours of coffee with a sweet syrup singing the chorus of mountain flowers. From the Old World to our new modern world, the coffee bean and lavender leave scores of history on our taste buds. La Disputa coffee beans are bold and bittersweet with a mature earthiness. They are lightened by the mild and creamy milk and the floral and fragrant lavender syrup. You can taste their individual flavours as well as when they blend together to make a floral and slightly bittersweet creation. What is great is that the flavours work hand and hand, and never overwhelm the other. The coffee bean and lavender in sweet harmony. That is the key. My only concern was that the flavours fade quickly overtime with the ice, but all good things eventually come to an end (-1 star). The VERDICT: BITTERSWEET PARADISE In the heart of Downtown El Paso, there is a lot of history remains standing, but much of it fades over time. Businesses come and go, but the memories still persist in the ones who treasure them truly. But from the concrete jungle, who would have thought that flowers can grow, and new businesses sprout up from time to time to give birth to a new El Paso. Dispute Coffee brings a modern twist from the blessings and treasures of the Old World. Their coffees and espressos give us new hope for a better day. The Lavender Iced Latte is a bittersweet paradise that combines the bold and earthy La Disputa coffee bean with the sweet, floral essence of lavender. They work in harmony so that you can taste them well balanced. However, the ice fades the flavours over time. So ephemeral, like a fleeting kiss in a tragic romance that could have been paradise eternal. I will definitely come back to try the rest of their selections and hope they will have more flavours.

Not sure if they're going to be friends after this because that was a pretty traumatic movie, about women backstabbing one another. Lol But I have a feeling we'll be back again because the little cafe where we went to screen the movie is so cute. They have been open for approximately 18 weeks and are planning on getting their alcohol license so they could have more events there. I won't lie. Parking is tough but there are free open lots and street meter parking available if you search, especially at the city hall lot after 6 pm. It's a quirky little deli and it's run by a native El Pasoan and New York transplant. There's history here as my friend kept comparing it to the theater that closed down, Fellini Film Café. The food was housemade and delicious, the Cafe De Olla was delicious on its own without cream or sugar, the egg cream soda was legit and the service was outstanding. Best of all they have a lot of vegan options, so I can take some good friends and they wouldn't feel left out. The egg cream soda can be subbed with coconut cream and the vegan chocolate chip cookie was just as decadent as the real deal. They'll be hosting a lot more events like poetry slams, kids' movies, book club movie screenings, and even a music video premiere for a famous local band! Stop by and check them out, we need more cozy spots that offer food and entertainment without having to dress up as you can see, I looked crazy since I'm trying to adjust back from HST to MST. Love their Christmassy sophisticated decorations that provide a warm and welcoming festive atmosphere. The restaurant offers a sophisticated and elegant decor with a romantic touch and some live music. We taste a large tower of seafood that was generously assembled with lobsters, tiger prawns, oysters, and some crab legs a real festival of delicious fresh seafood that flawn directly from Maine! It was abundantly deliciously fresh! CC's cream of Chili is a must try and one of the very best value on the menu! My grilled Angus Tenderloin was simply perfectly cooked medium rare. The side dish was a well prepared with an oven cooked gratin dauphinois. The rest of the party tried their Chilean Seabass and they were not disappointed. For dessert we had a crème brûlée and a rich 24k Gold bar chocolate cake with some port so you can expect that the bill was steep - but in my mind justified. The only observation was that the oysters were fairly flat and tiny. The service was super attentive and friendly Adam did an excellent job and believe it or not, our server has the same birthday's date as our dear friend Jimmy! What a treat for the ages!

They burned my burger and still sent it out. My server was lackluster and I can firmly say that because I watched him give good service to another table! The chef did send something out to make up for it. By the way skip the dessert platter. What in the "fell off a US foods truck" did I just eat? Flavorless ice cream? A month old strawberry that was opened from a package? Creme brulee with bitter topping? C'mon you're not even trying here. The only time I heard the manager speak was when he was shuffled away by the guy that wouldn't give him the time of day otherwise (table getting good service) and when he was saying inappropriate things around my table in Spanish, thinking we couldn't understand. I then found out when my wife was going to the restroom, she turned around to close the stall and the manager was staring at her from the lobby, which stopped her from wanting to use the restroom altogether. Avoid this trashy place. What the heck? What restaurant did everyone else eat at??
