Under new ownership. Gave me a case of athlete's foot. Also nails chipped after a few days. Owner nice but harried.

So I walked into this salon after not having had my nails done for some time, for a wedding. (I use…read moreto get dip done every three weeks, and before that I had acrylic and gel polish typically... so not new to getting my nails done.) I was put with a new graduate, a local PV graduate. To say my experience was bad, doesn't really cover it. After getting my nails redone a couple weeks later somewhere else, that is when I decided to leave this review, realizing just how awful it was. One star is for the interior. It's a very clean and updated decor. The other is for the owner, that sort of tried to make it right... I got tips and dip. I started out thinking I wanted a French manicure. But the ridge of the tips showed in the pink. So I did chrome hoping it would help. But when I went to check out, looking at the awful shaping and appearance in general, I told them I really wasn't happy. Many of my nails were wider at the top than at the base... they were not smooth on the sides, and they just just looked pretty awful. So they put me with one of their other people to reshape. Which meant removing the polish and chrome... they were shaped wide at the tips, and the corners (I was asking for squares shaping) were longer than the centers. When I pointed it out, they literally looked at them and didn't understand. The lady next to me was saying. Yep-I see it. And my thumbs were noticeably crooked at the ends. Full on slant. Oh and the base of the nails were thinner and they got thicker at the tips-not natural at all. Since I had already been there over two hours for a pedicure and trying to get my manicure presentable, I asked they just polish my hands the same as my toes, so I could go. Honestly I still was not thrilled.they were slightly better, but not the look I had planned on at all... But I get to the register, and they charged me for the chrome that had to be taken off, and I don't even know what else. It was $137 before the tip for a pedicure with polish (not gel), and dip with tips, VERY poorly done. By comparison, i went to another salon two weeks later before a vacation, with AMAZING service, beautifully shaped nails, and gel on both hands and toes, and additional design work (ombré glitter AND rhinestones), and it was $20 cheaper before tip!! The interior just as tasteful, service 1000% better overall. I will never set foot in Nails De Vie again... while the owner sort of seemed to want to make things right, he also seemed slightly annoyed, and unaffected by letting such a poor looking service walk out the does

Love this salon for more reasons than how my nails turn out. My mom has Alzheimer's and this is one…read moreof the few places she remembers. They take such great care of her, kind, compassionate and going above and beyond to make sure she is well taken care of. Thank you and well worth the wait to come back after your beautiful remodel.

This is a cautionary tale for those like my former self who would go to nail salons without…read morechecking if all the technicians are licensed and knowledgeable...I feel if I had done this none of the below would have happened. So, not only was I charged an outrageous amount for services I did not ask for, the technician injured my cuticles (the pain really kicked in the day after), damaged my nails by using a nail drill on my natural nails, something which should have never even been brought out (I did not even know what that was until I looked it up later), and then the business refused to refund the full amount of what I paid (their excuse was that they had performed "some services" so they were entitled to partial payment???) They did not care that the technician had caused injuries (one toenail cuticle was particularly scraped and became swollen the day after), damaged my nail beds, required me to go to a different place to remove the gel I had not asked for, and most importantly treated me with a total lack of respect or honesty. I was shocked by this horrible experience, especially when I confronted the owners and the technician after discovering I had been totally bamboozled. When I first left the salon I still had not realized the extent of how badly I had been treated or how much damage the technician had caused---but my gut feelings indicated I was very upset and as I was unable to work, I decided to find another place to first repair my fingernails (they were a mess) and remove all the gel from all my toe nails. At the second salon, they informed me that Ks Nails had not removed all the gel from one of my hands, I've never had any problems remotely like this at any other salons in other cities...I have simply said in the past that I wanted a regular manicure and no gel and everyone has respected that....until now! Therefore I've never had gel on my nails (until now) and was not familiar with the process ..my unfamiliarity with gel should not have been a reason to take advantage. The last straw was when I told this story to a friend of mine who said she had also gone to this salon years ago, and pretty much the same thing had happened to her! My friend had even repeatedly pointed to the services on the menu she wanted with the prices but the technician STILL proceeded to do services she hadn't asked for--- and STILL charged her for the unwanted extra services! My friend thought it was her own fault (it wasn't!) for not questioning the charges--even though she had done all the right things before starting. So, here you can find services added stealthily, overcharging, practices resulting in injuries, unprofessionalism, and horrible customer service...again, I'm astounded.
