Rip off. the manicurist doesn't even allow you to choose your service, I had gel polish that needed to be taken off and asked for just a regular polish afterwards to give my nails a break. I was told that it would look dirty and they wouldn't do it, so then he continued to file my natural nail to the point it was painful and still charged me for a full manicure plus an additional charge for gel removal. I wasn't even offered cuticle oil for my bleeding cuticles. I will never be back. read more

I came in for a desperate nail fix. The previous salon Voshe nails completed obliterated my nails and even made me shape them myself. I had to find someone to fix my nails quickly and they did not disappoint. Tammy did a wonderful job shaving pounds of acrylic off my nails and shaping them the way I asked, and I only had to ask once the atmosphere is great and even have spirits I highly recommend. We decided to go to a new salon when our last one overcharged us and did less like the hot rocks and massage. Locals Love Us rated them fourth, so we made an appointment on a week day morning. The place was uncrowded and we were greeted immediately. We were asked to sign in. You can earn items with points for past services. We were offered a free drink for our pedicure. We were allowed to sit there and soak our feet for awhile. They were gentle and polite and we left with excellent pedicures. I heartily recommend this salon. I came to the shop in hopes to get these nails I wanted for a long time. The reviews were good online so I thought they could easily do my nail design. I was wrong, I left the shop in complete tears and disappointment. I thought maybe they were having a bad so I came back a couple days later to get them done again. When I returned a few days later the person who was doing my nail were very rude and disrespectful because I wanted to come back and change them. I have never been one to leave a complaint online but I feel people should know what they are about to pay for. So if you don't like being ripped off, disrespected, and left disappointed I recommend you DON'T come here. read more

The worst nail experience I've ever had. The lady that did my nails spoke maybe five words to me during my manicure and pedicure, she was cold and unwelcoming. My nails are uneven, way too thick, and don't cover the entire surface of my nail. They look awful and it's too late for me to do anything about them before my bachelorette party this weekend. Save your money and time and find a different salon. I won't be returning. read more

First time visiting and made at appointment for 445 and wasn't seated until 5pm roughly. The water was kind of Luke warm too. I always prefer to see the water run and then adding in the blue color, but it was ready for me upon arrival. I choose the deluxe and I really enjoyed the experience it's worth the upgrade. I do not like that they water is already loosing heat while they're getting the next person. My manicure was also from this same seat which isn't normal for me. It was ok but felt rushed. The work was ok but I'm unsure if it it was worth the price. The technician was very friendly so that's why it's rated higher. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I had a powder dip manicure on Sat Aug 12 and I had an appointment. The worker was surly and actually cut into my cuticle with her dremel tool while trying to remove the old gel on my left hand. She told me it was my fault because I was talking to my friend on my right and I was moving. I told her that I hadn't move and she got up and left and another worker came over. She did a fairly good job shaping my nails and applied 1 layer of powder after the glue and base coat. She wanted me then to put my hands in the ultraviolet device and I told her I couldn't because it burned my cuticles too much. I have had MANY powder manicures and this was the ONLY place that insisted I do the ultraviolet. This upset the worker who got the original (manager maybe) and they started tossing different bottles on the table to figure out how to proceed. Several bottles were dried up. In the end, I had 1 layer powder and top coat and they said I was done. Fast forward to today, Wed, one nail has already chipped and the powder on the rest is on so light it is transparent. I paid 125$ for a pedicure and full set. The price doesn't bother me. What's upsetting is that I went there to treat myself for the first time in a over year and was chastised, laughed at, and told by my nail tech that I was making him feel crazy. He was not able to do the first design I had asked for; when he painted it on it didnt look right. I asked to switch to a black ombre. He tried to finish my nails with chunky bubbles that hardly pass for an ombre. When I told him I wasn't satisfied he told me that I needed to come prepared and he would charge me 10$ to take off what he had done and charge me an additional 55$ to fix it. He then insinuated if I didn't cooperate he would lose his job? I felt bad for him until he started laughing at me and told me I was making him feel crazy. After he kept chastising me I asked for a different nail tech. I stated I will pay for my services and just not come back The owners apologized but still charged me the full amount. I left after sobbing for almost 15 minutes. This experience was absolutely awful and I've never been treated this way at other salons. It was embarrassing to have him be so mean to me. read more

Went in with my mom for pedicures and a paraffin dip on my hands, I chose this place because of the paraffin dips. Unfortunately it started poorly with the nail tech not completely removing my previous gel pedicure (which I've never had happen before) so the light color I chose had my old polish showing through. Then he told me it was my fault for picking that color and he would re-do it only if I picked something else. When he removed the gel polish he had just applied he was so rough, I ended having 3 bleeding toes afterwards. And then he put acetone all over my toes and could tell he was hurting me but didn't seem too concerned. I got my paraffin dip after crappy manicure (did not do great cleaning up my cuticles) and then got left at my chair while he started another pedicure. I sat and waited for someone to come take my hands out of the dip. Just super disappointing. I won't be going back. read more

I did not have an appointment, and despite being quite full they accommodated me for a mani and pedi. The chairs have massagers, and you are offered a drink. Everyone was very friendly. I had gel polish and my nail tech did a wonderful job. Right now they have summer hours and are open on Mondays. Also, I heard someone say they were renting out the upstairs for a girls night out. I LOVE this place. Very friendly staff, very welcoming, and my nails always look amazing when I leave. I would call ahead and make an appointment if you are going to visit. They often get very busy with walk-ins. The owners are very sweet and funny. I always trying to make their customers laugh and enjoy their visit. And for those who are 21+, you can enjoy a nice glass of wine or something like a Bloody Mary. It is a very clean establishment and I highly recommend it. read more

It's a shame that I have been coming here since I have been stationed here in rock island. Ever since the change of owners the customer service has been horrible. I called earlier today to make an appt & when I come in- I am directed to this younger guy FA they claimed to be his name. The initial contact before I can say hello was rude. His tone&demeanor was horrid! I informed one of the managers Candy she claimed - it was a jokes and laughs at the situation. 2 ladies in there that recognized me spoke to me & tried to see what was the issue- I explained that even though they couldn't do 3D designs I was still gonna get my nails but when the manager laughs & say oh that's just the way he is? That's unacceptable. Because if I was a rude customer then it would be and issue- then I'm the bad guy.. fair? I REFUSE TO GET MY NAILS OR REFER ANYONE TO COME HERE AND BE MISTREATED ! I have had several unacceptable appointments at Ansons I've had my foot sliced open, they wanted to stop the bleeding by pouring a liquid that burns like fire. I would not allow the nail tech to do that I asked for a band aid, they didn't have any. Another visit the nail tech sliced my finger while using s big sharp nail file. The last time, the owner Twong was so rude. He thinks he's so funny, I will NEVER go there again. There are a lot of other places to go!!! read more

I brought my family here with me to get our nails done before my wedding. Overall, I liked it and would go there again. My biggest pros were: free drinks, the space upstairs was perfect for us, our nails all looked great. Cons: they tried to talk us out of every color we picked, and my gel manicure didn't even last two weeks, and we stood around for probably 10 minutes when we got there before anyone came to address us, even though I had appointments for 7 people. The prices were as expected but coordinating payment for everyone was difficult because they definitely wanted us out of there. I have wanted to get my nails done for forever and I stumbled upon Ansan's. I walked in at 12 on a Monday and they had just opened. The people at the desk were very friendly and I was seated right away for my full gel set. The salon looks newly updated and clean and there isn't that artificial nail smell that some salons have. My nail tech's name was Chi and I will go to him again. He was very personable and did a very good job. I am very happy that I found this place and will be returning. read more

I had an appointment at 11 with a girlfriend, which they called us back to the pedi chairs at that time, which is why they get their 2 stars. My girlfriend's pedi started promptly, I sat for 30 minutes in ice cold water. Finally a tech got to me and rushed my pedicure so that we would be done at nearly the same time. If they couldn't facilitate an appointment with 2 people, they should have made the customers aware of this at scheduling, instead of having one of their customers catch pneumonia in ice cold water waiting. read more

The outside isn't the nicest - BUT please don't let that fool you. Walk inside and it's an adorable bustling salon. I got the best gel mani of my life here. A full week later and it still looks like day one. The girl actually took the time to put 4 coats of polish - plus multiple base and top coats. Plus she fixed a nail that was broken.
