If you walk into a mechanic shop and there's a bunch of salesmen there, turn and walk out the door because they're going to be highly priced and high pressure. A family member went here and was told their brakes were needing to be done urgently. The LOWEST pad was at 5.5mm. Replacement is recommended at 3mm and very urgent at 2mm. This was still another 20,000 miles off of needing a brake job. Also, I went to go take the wheels off and noticed my Milwaukee 1/2 High Torque Impact was struggling so I checked the torque on the wheel nuts; I picked two random ones and they both came out to 210 FT-LBS. The factory says 85 ft.-lbs and a lot of tire shops just do a standard 100 ft-lbs. THESE PEOPLE TORQUED THESE WHEELS TO 2.5X THE SPECIFICATIONS! I wouldn't be surprised if they had an actual silverback gorilla controlling the impact. DISHONEST, SCAM ARTISTS, DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY PUT A WHEEL ON A CAR!!!

Batteries place tested it and said it was OK, maybe it was the starter. I call Roy and make a time to come see him. He has me start the car - twice. I was originally quoted one price for the repair, but later I was told the cost went up because I "needed hoses added," with no clear explanation or proof provided for why those parts were necessary. There was no documentation, no visual inspection shown, and no real breakdown to justify the added work--just a verbal claim that it was required. On top of that, the final charge ended up being more than 3x what the same OEM part is listed for at Ford, which raises serious concerns about how the pricing was marked up and presented. The issues didn't stop there. This happened on a Friday. I was told my car would be ready before 4:00 PM, but around 4:30 PM I only received a last-minute text update. I arrived at approximately 5:09 PM, and the shop was already closed. There was no one available, no way to speak to anyone, and no reliable way to get updates or access my vehicle. Because of the timing and the fact that it was already Friday evening, my car would have been stuck there all weekend until Monday, which directly affected my work schedule. I had to go out of my way to find and contact the owner myself just to avoid being left without my vehicle for multiple days. While I did get my car back, the overall experience felt inconsistent, poorly communicated, and not handled in a transparent or professional way

If you like more details: I've had to change mechanics due to a job location change and decided to try Jake's our based on recommendations from coworkers. I've used them for an oil change, new tires (very fairly priced compared to tire store previously used), and recently had to drop my vehicle off for axle work. I have an older vehicle so one of the parts wasn't going to be in for a few days (there was also a weekend involved). Jake's had a loaner vehicle available for me to use so my life was not disturbed. How many auto shops can boast about this type of treatment for its customers these days? The mechanic, Matt, was very detailed in his work and Leah kept me updated on everything that was going on with my vehicle. They returned my vehicle to me once it was repaired, they were satisfied it was not making any noises, and it was safe to drive. The repair bill was very fairly priced. Bottom line: I highly recommend this auto shop to my family, friends, and you.
