If you walk into a mechanic shop and there's a bunch of salesmen there, turn and walk out the door because they're going to be highly priced and high pressure. We needed a muffler strap restored after knicking a traffic cone w our Winnebago. Four other businesses quoted about $200 & a 3 day wait. HQ Auto Center quoted no more than $95 but charged only $69 and did the work on the spot! No wonder their lot is overcrowded w cars. Wow. I just moved to Sarasota and bought an old PT Cruiser....the wires were all corroded and the AC didn't work. I had no rear lights and needed a tune up. This is my third successful visit and affordable repair at HQ. I have an older Yukon and it would not shift into park. I dropped it off and by 9:30 am they called with the diagnosis. Had the part delivered by 10:30 and I picked the truck up all complete right after lunch. Believe me, I am picky about my cars and about safety, but I also know that often the dealership can be slow and expensive and sell you things you may not need - parts are expensive too. If you are watching your budget but want a quality job from trustworthy people, HQ is the place to go. Be very wary when you take your car into this place for service. I took my car in for an oil change and the son's owner (I believe) told me that I needed new front brakes, as they only had about 1000 miles left on them. I took my car into a reputable place to have them look at the brakes, and the brakes were FINE. I saved myself $350. Very bad to cheat your customers. read more

I usually take my car to the dealership to have it's work done but was on a time constraint so I Came in for an oil change. I was impressed with the quality of service at this location.
