One week later after still never calling me back, I call the Garage Door Guys and they installed a new operator for me and were great to deal with. I can't give Scofield a horrible rating because they never accepted my business, but I think this review and a 3/5 are a fair rating. I will also note I live in a house that needs all new windows and 2 new sliding glass doors, if I had had a good experience with this much smaller job I very likely would have given them that business as well. But now I know that, for whatever reason, they don't do what they say and they aren't diligent in communicating with customers. Hopefully they do better for future customers.

I was able to get a service appointment quickly and at a convenient time. Ron Schmidt arrived when he said he would and performed all the service in less than 30 minutes from his arrival. The new seal should keep out small critters - and probably large bugs, and the garage door is much quieter now when it goes up and down.

Lonnie took my call, answered all my questions, and quoted me a fair price based on what other such installations have cost. A month later I called them and scheduled the installation. (Needed to get some electrical work done first.) When Adam arrived he did some quick measurements based on how the garage doors opened and informed me that the track for the belt drive openers wouldn't fit since I had such a low ceiling. He took photos and discussed it with Nick, the Service Manager. You might think that seems like a fishy tactic to lure in customers for shoddy work. Definitely not the case here! Scheduling the appointment was a breeze and the technician let me know when he was on the way. My issue was a dead circuit board in my 20 year old garage door opener. The tech went over the replacement options along with clear and upfront pricing. Once I decided, he was able to do the install right away! While he was there he went ahead and gave my other garage a tune-up as well. Both doors are quieter and smoother than they have ever been. It's actually kind of amazing how much better they are now. The garage door needed some rebalancing and some recalibration. took them all of an hour and the gentleman made it clear it would be simple. The price was way lower then I expected since other companies were asking for over five hundred dollars or more. the lowest offer was 195 dollars and that was for just one part to get it to close. Diamond Doors and Services they did it quick well and for much less. and actually said no replacement or new parts needed. The sales guy made promises he didn't deliver. The door came with defective panels. The second door had 1 panel defective. Waiting on the third re-order without a promised date or even an idea as to when it will arrive. They charged me the full amount due upon installation of the second defective door panel AND they did not credit, as promised reimbursement, for the paint I had to purchase to fix the damage they did to my exterior trim on my new home. They are angry that I put the charge in dispute because I didn't want to pay the last installment for a product costing me over $7,000.00 that had a defect thus voiding any warranty!?
