I hired them to install new top & bottom door seals on my garage doors. The doors were 25 years old and starting to fail. I chose their company, because I wanted to do business locally. The service manager & Rodney told me that the correct door seals for my existing doors were no longer available. Highfield Door Sales installed universal door seals which clearly did not fit our doors and were not installed properly. The aluminum door seal they installed was cut too short on the ends and hung down 1/2 inch below the bottom of my doors. Their solution was to fill the large gaps with big globs of silicone. The rubber going to the outside edges were not attached to the bottom of the aluminum frame and hung down. The doors did not seal to the floor properly and water leaked underneath them when it rained. This was not a professional installation. I texted pictures to Rodney's phone of the terrible job we received and he stated by text back "the way the bottom retainer was installed is completely unacceptable and I totally agree with the top seals not being secured enough". We also had them grease our doors and hinges and they sprayed lubricant all over our door hinges. They did not wipe it off and it ran down all of our doors and left dirty streaks on our white doors. Again, Rodney stated by text "I totally agree with you about them not wiping the excessive lubricant off completely unacceptable". They came out a 2nd time and installed a new set of door seals. The 2nd time was not much better. The door seals were tighter to the bottom of our doors, but they cut the rubber seals at the end and rolled them back onto themselves. Eventually, the rubber began to hang down and hold water inside of them. They were not attached to the aluminum frame at all and did not seal to the frame or the floor. We called other garage door companies. The correct seals for our Haas doors are in fact still available and have been used by Haas doors for over 25 years. Rodney and his service manager were not truthful with me, both of them told me the original Door seals for my garage doors were no longer available anymore. I told Rodney I found the original door seals for my doors in stock at other companies. After all this , Rodney stated he could of got them from a 3rd party. TL Doors installed the correct Haas door seals on our doors. I sent Rodney the bill from TL Doors for $ 650.00, which was very reasonable. My bill from Highfield Door Sales was $ 1775.00, I should not have to hire someone else to fix a job I paid twice for 9 months after they installed them. Rodney agreed to refund me the $650.00, but then only gave me a partial refund back of $386.00 leaving a balance of $ 264.00 due to us. About 1/2 hour after my last request for payment, Mr. Highfield gave our dealership a 1star review. This Retaliatory review came about because of poor workmanship by his company and poor customer service to resolve this issue. Rodney said he had issues with 2 trailers he bought from us from a 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 years ago. Everything was fine with his 2 trailers, until we demanded payment on the balance due of $ 264. Rodney agreed the door seals installed by his employees was not a good job and in his own words by email, "Totally Unacceptable ". Mr. Highfield said he would refund our money back that we paid TL Doors of $ 650, but only gave us a partial payment of $ 386.00 leaving a balance of $ 264.00 due to us. You would think a reputable business person would settle this with us and repay for the poor job by his company, but NOT Rodney. Keep in mind this has been going on since last year. Mr. Highfield has been very unprofessional in resolving this matter and even stated in one of his emails towards me on 3/25/26, "you are a complete and utter jackass". Another email an hour later from him, "You are a mess sir. You probably should get yourself a psychological evaluation of your mental capacity because you have some serious problems". A very poor interaction. Called a tech out for a cable off on both ends. Mind you, everything was and has been in perfect working condition. Upon arrival he had it back together rather quickly. Went to manually lift the door, it was hitting in what he claimed was the roller. As I advised, it was hitting in the 7/16's bolts on the spring. He was adamant I was incorrect. This went on for a minute or so, back and forth. So he then states "I" did something else/to it, back and forth again. He then decided to loosen and move the said roller he said was hitting (left side) after repositioning, he attempted to lift the door again. Bang, hitting exactly where I originally advised. Then he begins to loosen the tension and BAM, spring cams/cones broke. He then stated I needed a new spring. Keep in mind, my spring was not, nor never the issue. At this point I am upset, I walk out of the garage. He then states a price, and I immediately replied, go ahead and fix the spring/door, but I politely advised I was not happy with him nor his service and would be reaching out to his supervisor. He then goes to his truck, comes back with the owner, Rodney on the phone. Everything explained here, was explained to the owner on speaker phone. Back and forth briefly, I requested the cheapest route (cams/cones) they both then claimed the "spring" was old and was going to fail at some point, sure, everything fails, breaks, etc. While still chatting with Rodney, he stated it would be "wiser" to replace the entire spring and not the cone/cam. I advised my situation and again, requested whatever the tech had snapped, to fix, etc. some more back and forth briefly, I decided to purchase the spring just to be done and over. With the new spring, it STILL was bumping the bolts on the spring. No clue how or why it was, again, never was nor had the spring been an issue, until the tech did what he did. He made some adjustments, tightening the 7/16's to at least allow operation. It is STILL rubbing, grazing when going down. So technically it was never fixed properly, correctly. He stated it shouldn't be an issue, etc. The absolute worst experience with any garage door company, and especially Highfield. I plan to pursue a Better Business Bureau complaint as well. read more

We have had excellent sales and service experiences with Highfield for many years, including as recently as early October 2025. A small part of the latch on our screen door failed, and Highfield replaced the part at no charge to us, even though the door was no longer under warranty. Service like that has made us loyal customers. read more

I had Bryan come out from Highfield Door Sales. I had chosen this business based on the free estimate for a new door. Bryan came out and my mom (who was at home at the time of the appointment) explained that I had work done previously from another garage door company but wanted to insure its accuracy and request a quote or estimate on what it would cost to replace the door itself. Bryan explained although it isn't necessary, that it would cost ranging anywhere from 700-1000. Before he left, he requested payment of 65$ my mom paid it. I called her following the appointment and I remembered looking at the website for the free quotes/estimates. I called and asked about the trip charge and have now gone back and forth with multiple calls, saying they are getting "all the details". Just the run around, hoping that I'll stop calling/requesting, they unfortunately got me out of 65$. Don't let this happen to you, these are not FREE estimates. Spend your money elsewhere read more

We just had our garage door installed by Highfield Door Sales. From the first estimate by Emily Highfield (now Pope) to the person that came out to double check the sight before installation to the crew that did the actual install, no detail was missed. We were kept up to date on the door order, as it was a special order, to when and what would be a good time to fit into our schedule. We had also had a new garage floor put in and things had to happen in a certain order to have everything work out perfectly. Had a great experience with front door installation. Had a garage screen door installed as a gift from wife they never explained the issues with what effects on garage would be. Now can't use pull down ladder, cant get to lightbulbs, fishing poles. And they won't take back. They offered me $267.00 for door after I paid $1500.00 for it and it has not even been used. Went with Highfield because they are the first company that came to mind when I needed a garage door and what a mistake. First the guy who measured completely wrong as seen in the picture below. Then as they came out to install, the guy installing proceeded to install without saying anything. So the garage door was only about 6ft tall in which left a big gap in the top right corner as seen in the picture. The guy installing did call the home office and tell them it didn't fit which I appreciate that, but then I called to confirm and obviously gripe about it, they acted like they were doing me a favor by coming back out to fix it. Said we have to pay our guys to come out and pay for their gas, so we can't do anything else for you. Unfortunately I think the employees hands are tied and they have to confirm everything with the owner. I would say the customer service is subpar, but the owner is way above his pay grade. Month later I have the new panel for my garage door and they sent a different guy to fix the other ones work. I would avoid this place if I was you as they just do not get it. read more

If you want to buy your next door from a company and person that is like a really great neighbor than I highly recommend Highfield Doors. I grew up in Kettering and moved to Austin, Texas a while back. I only know about the owner of Highfiled Doors from my mother who still lives in Kettering. The owner of Highfield Door lives one street over. One time about 7 years ago, my mom was flying to Austin to visit me and our over 60 year old original garage door would not lower as she was leaving for the airport. The owner of Highfield Door came right over and helped my mother get the garage door lowered without charging her anything. She later replaced the garage door from Highfield with a very nice insulated garaged door. One time when I was visiting Kettering for the holidays, my mother tried to changed the code at the keypad and it wouldn't work anymore. The employee from Highfield Door came right over. He was extremely friendly and reprogrammed the keypad. When I tried to tip him $5, he refused to accept it. Also, our street and the street perpendicular to out street must be on Kettering's S#*T list since they never get plowed or salted..ever! The owner of Highfield Doors will plow these two streets like clock work with his own truck and snowplow. 3 weeks ago, he used his truck with snow plow to clear my 70s year old mother's driveway automatically.
