The quote was for a "Torsion System Deconstruction" $265.19 and a " Torsion System Reinstallation" $275.39. Total for the fix, "$553.53". When complete, 20 minutes I asked what parts was replaced. The response no parts was replaced the original parts was used. I asked why the repair was so high the response was, the 3 original rollers was inserted back on the door, the door and rollers aligned with track, the cable wound on the spool and the spool secured, (screwed) back in place. I contacted a professional 20 year garage door installer and repairman asked what is involved with a "Torsion System Deconstruction" and a " Torsion System Reinstallation he laughed and said they are no such things, buzz words to over charge customers. They asked the typical questions, brand, dimensions, insulated or not, steel both sides or steel/vinyl. After telling them all the information they quoted me a price of $350 and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday 8/15/18 between 3-6. I had a friend meet them at my house on Wednesday as I would not be home until almost 5. At 4:05 I received a call from my friend asking me where I had purchased the door, I told him Lowes, and he said this guy says he does not think he can install it because you bought it from Lowes. He then asked "how much did you pay for it, not sure why he needs to know that but he asked". First, none of his business, it was a new door all hardware still sealed in the box, so why he wanted that, I do not know. I told my friend to tell him that when I called and made the appointment that I told them I bought it from Lowes so that should not be a problem. Then at 4:28 I get another call stating that the guy had left. He said there was a piece missing and to call back when I had all the pieces and they could MAYBE come back on Friday 8/17/18. My friend said that he told the installer that he would run and buy the hinge and be back before he had the other door down. He was told "no, just tell her to call back when she has all the parts and maybe we can come back out on Friday. Then I get a call at 4:29 from my friend saying you need to call them back because the piece he said was missing was slid up under the stack of garage door panels. He then decided to call them himself since I was driving. He explained to the person answering the phone what was going on and was put on hold for 5 minutes so he hung up and called back. He was transferred to Dispatch who said they had no one available to come back out until Friday. When I got home at 4:50 he was explaining to me what he was told when a call came in to my daughters cell phone. It was "Brandon" who asked me if he could reschedule the install for Friday. I voiced my issues with the fact that the installer first said he could not install it because it was from Lowes, then mysteriously a bracket was missing when he is the one who opened the sealed box of hardware. I said he obviously did not want to do the job at all. I was given the standard Customer Service lets diffuse the conflict response of "I understand your frustration" No, he really did not understand because he still said he could not send anyone out until Friday. I told them to forget it I would find someone else.
