We needed the chimney swept, but had never done this before, here or in previous homes which didn't have fireplaces. After a lot of review reading, we called Northeast Chimney Sweeps based on the positive reviews and the fact it's a local business, and couldn't be more pleased. Setting up the appointment was easy, Joe was on time, cleaned the chimney and chimney caps, even removing the damper to be thorough, and I learned a lot about chimneys in the process. They were professional, friendly and left the house cleaner than it was when they arrived. They use drop cloths to protect any furniture or rugs, but when he was done the drop cloths weren't even that dirty. I recommend them without hesitation and we'll be using them again in the future. Call them and clean up your chimney, I was amazed at how much creosote builds up if you're a heavy wood burner, and even if you only have the occasional fire, they'll let you know if the cleaning is needed or not. Better safe than sorry, chimney fires are no joke. Five stars.
